Best seafood chowder I’ve had in Dublin. Perfectly cooked seafood and the leeks make it perfect. Beef and Guinness stew mostly beef delicious and tender. Brown bread wonderfully chewy. Service conscientious but not invasive. :)

Service was a five plus. Seafood chowder at lunch was way beyond expectations. They cooked our mussels just right to order and then served them in the chowder. This may have been the tastiest chowder I’ve had. Guinness was perfect accompaniment.

This is a nice, quiet restaurant with a limited menu but very good food. I stopped in for lunch today and found it to be an oasis in the midst of the midday chaos of the surrounding area.

Great location, large, tasty portions, relaxing, upscale ambiance, gracious service. What more could a tourist looking for where Dubliners go want? Bangers and mash a top choice along with really chunky fresh seafood chowder that is decidedly NOT from a commercial mix.

They have a nice early bird menu for dinner. The space itself is small and cozy, but the food itself was well worth the price.

The food was prepared with great care and attention to detail. Spices were well balanced and food was served immediately upon completion of preparation. The manager gave us advice about their specialties and what would appeal to each member of our diverse group(meat eaters, vegetarians, etc.). This restaurant was a culinary highlight of our trip!

Our first food experience on our honeymoon! Not only was this located right within our hotel, the Harding Hotel, it’s right across the street from Christ Church, a great church to visit during your stay in Dublin. We were seated in the back corner table next to the high book shelf and the shelves behind us had differently colored bright wine bottles with food coloring. It was a vintage décor with a hint of modern flare here and there. The wooden floors creaked as you walked, and the tables were comfortable. Since it was lunch, we started with a Guinness each, and I started with their vegetable soup, with this beautiful yellow-orange color with some seasoned croutons, with a side of brown bread. If you eat it this way — buttering the brown bread and dipping it into the soup, you will be in absolute heaven! The greatest idea for this goes to my husband — he knows what I like! My hubby, being the cheese lover that he is, opted for the deep fried Irish Brie cheese. Imagine it like a deep fried spring roll, with cheese inside instead. It was really a delightful surprise; great concept. The main entrée, I had their take on fish and chips, which was literally a fillet deep fried in crispy, non-greasy goodness. It was absolutely insane, and had to resort to using my knife and fork instead of using my fingers. This to me, was the best fish and chips of the whole trip, while my husband begs to differ. He went for the burger, and it was meaty, jaw breaker worthy, and delicious. Malted vinegar is all you need for your fries; don’t try to use something else. Great vibe, great service.

Amazing meal. Attentive and efficient staff. Food was delightfully gourmet. Owner came over and greeted us, asked how our meal and experience was. Wonderful dinner, highly recommend. A must do in Dublin.

Walking along the road, we passed this restaurant. The menu posted outside had several interesting dinner entrees, and the restaurant appeared to be classy. We tried fried Brie for an appetizer. It was delicious. I had fish and chips. We also shared a side of garden vegetables. The portion of fish was large and the fried batter was just right — light and crispy. The fish seemed fresh and tasted fine. The chips were crispy but not dried out. The garden vegetables consisted of green beans, parsnips, and carrots. They were cooked just right, still had some crunch to them. The service was pleasant. There seemed to be a long wait between the appetizer and entrees. I would return to this restaurant and would recommend it to others.

What I like: — location — cappuccino What I did not like: — food(we went for breakfast, portions are small and tastes average) — I had a salon scrabble eggs and Solomon was chewy What was just ok: — staff — prices — interior Not a terrible experience, but I will not come back.

What attracted me to this place was the look of it — it looks really classy and cosy … but its not. Initially i ordered the peri peri chicken(i looked at the menu online before I came here and the only reason I came was for the piri piri chicken) the waiter then informed us they had no piri piri chicken. Fair enough these things happen but they could have informed us as we entered into the restaurant or had a sign up or something — to prevent disappointment for customers — otherwise your then left with the awkward situation of already sitting down at your table with your drink and you dont want to be rude and get up and leave. So we then ordered chips and steak sandwich(roughly € 10.00 which was a decent price. Food was all right — certainly edible we ate the whole meal but its nothing better than what you could make for yourself at home. The steak was extremely tough and chewy also. Staff were nice enough but they were quite awkward … we asked could we have a seat not beside the window(as they sun was pounding in and the blinds weren’t down) and they were being very reluctant to let us choose our seat(i could understand if they were busy or something but the place was empty) Wasn’t a totally bad experience it was fine but I wouldn’t go again., The place was quiet but in an awkward way — there was no background music or anything

After spending a morning sightseeing with my parents while they were visiting, we decided to stop for some food. My parents didn’t want to go somewhere very far, so we stopped into this place, as it was the closest restaurant to Christchurch. We stopped in at about 12:30, and the place wasn’t busy at all. We were quickly sat, and our orders were quickly taken. I got the buffalo wings to start, and the open salmon sandwich. The food was fine enough, and the prices were alright. In my opinion, nothing to really write home about. The food wasn’t bad by any means, but nothing I couldn’t have thrown together at home. I think that if you’re going to spend the money to eat out, you could find better food for the same price somewhere else.

Recently stayed at the Harding Hotel just next door and decided to pop in for dinner. Food was fantastic — so much so that we went back on our last night in Dublin. They were about to close, but then decided to stay open just for us. Service was attentive and friendly. I really enjoyed the lamb shank, which was cooked to perfection.

I recently visited Ireland with my mother and we stopped into this lovely corner bistro. It was one of the best dining experiences I have had the pleasure of enjoying. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the portobello mushroom with blue cheese appetizer… DELICIOUS! I had the Seafood Risotto any my mother ordered the Grilled Vegetable and Halloumi Skewer. Both were an excellent choice! I highly recommend all of the above! Our server, Neehat(forgive me for my spelling… pronounced«knee hat») was absolutely amazing!!! He was completely charming, friendly, and helpful. His superb service made our fabulous dinner one to remember. I could not have asked for a better dining experience. I will definitely return on my next visit to Dublin.

Fair prices and usual meals. Yawn. I got the special that consisted of lamb leg with potatoes and veggies, but the leg was gone so I got pieces of lamb covered in lots of gravy; some of the pieces were dry which makes me think the gravy had more than one function. Service was good however and the staff was very nice.

This was the best meal we had in Dublin! The guinness and beef stew was delicious and the mashed potatoes were clearly homemade. We started with the portobello with cashel blue cheese appetizer. So good! The staff was super friendly and it was not crowded on a Friday night. Highly recommend.

I had breakfast here on a Sunday morning and was not impressed. The poached eggs would more accurately be described as hard-boiled, hash browns consisted mostly of oil and the pudding looked as if it had been under a heat lamp for hours, however the Portobello mushroom wasn’t bad… The service was ok, but they never told us that the juice and coffee were self-service(on a Sunday morning you need your coffee ASAP). The coffee was terrible, it brought back memories of the old tinned tobacco my granddad used. The bistro looks as if it’s been revamped recently and is nice inside, but the breakfast definitely did not cut it.

The food here tastes like a 12 year old kid prepared it for you. My turkey sandwich was nothing more then two slices of store bought white bread, butter, and turkey coldcut. Come on! My friends BLT was missing the T(tomato). We ended up paying roughly 16 euros for two sandwiches that come with fries and a couple of sodas. I consider a restaurant to have someone who knows how to prepare something a bit different, perhaps unique. This place simply doesnt have it. Go elsewhere.

There are times when judging a book by it’s cover doesn’t work… and this was one of those cases. It was so close to our hotel, the exterior looks cute, and the menu looked fairly decent(although no real focus) and prices were reasonable to almost inexpensive. It also looked fairly busy, so I thought it must be good right? The staff were attentive, but not very friendly. I had a glass of their house red, which was nice. I ended up ordering the Escalope of Pork Strongbow. Wasn’t quite sure what it was, but I thought I would give it a go. As I was waiting, I noticed that the ladies next to me were not enjoying their dinner… so I was now afraid that I wasn’t going to enjoy mine. However, people kept piling into the restaurant. My food came out and the plate was enormous. The pork was covered in some kind of bread crumb and smelled delicious. However, cutting into it was a different story. The meat was so tough and it wasn’t seasoned very well. The applesauce was nice although it wasn’t really applesauce in the way I know, it was more like chunks of apples in a sweet sauce… it could’ve been the filling for an apple pie. And the asparagus tips… I wanted them to be so good, but they were all over the place. Some of them were mushy and some were barely cooked. Overall it was a very disappointing meal… maybe I ordered the wrong item on the menu, but it was so wrong that I wouldn’t be willing to go back and try something else.
