Barber Shop

Tony has been here for years and is a Rathmines institution.
He does excellent, unrushed haircuts at a good price (€ 14), which is only € 10 on Monday and Tuesday.
He’s a great man for a chat and knows everything going on in the area.
Shop is bright, clean and modern.
I like this place so much that even when I lived away from Rathmines for two years I used to come back to get my hair cut here. Had never been that attached to a particular barber’s before.

For the first time in over 5 years, I wasn’t going to the same barbers so it was with a touch of trepidation I pushed in the door at Barber Shop. I don’t need anything mad done to my hair but I have left other barber shops in the past as though I had walked along the wrong side of the tracks in a native American reservation and been scalped.
Nothing fancy inside but I reassured myself there doesn’t need to be. After all, I just want them to cut my hair properly. So the time came and the words «Who’s next?» rang out. I rose from my chair and slowly made my way to the chair.
I sat and when I started to answer the question «So, what can I do for you?», he finished my sentence with almost exactly the same words I was about to.
Relief washed over me in an awesome wave.
We chatted away, mostly about the area, since he’d asked if I was new to it and fifteen minutes later I walked out happy to have found my new barber shop!
