Don’t do it. You may be hungover and desperate but don’t waste your money here for food. The bagel with scrambled eggs and salmon was awful, and I don’t how you could mess that up — but the eggs were just terrible and I had to ask for butter, and it was too cold to spread. The bagel itself was so unevenly toasted that it impossible to tear. The only redeeming offering was the ice coffee.

I came here a few times for coffee and quite liked it. It’s open pretty late until 8:80 pm from Wed~Sat which is great as I usually come in the evening to study, and the coffee is cheaper than most places too. I ordered an Americano which costed me only € 2.75 take away and they also have soya milk available. I have yet to try their food, but looking at the salad selection it looks yum and changes every day! The day I went they had a chickpea salad, a rice salad, beetroot and lettuce as well as breakfast bagels, granola, sandwiches, wraps and a few pastries like muffins. The staff are very friendly and there is a lot of seating both inside and outside. The café itself has a lot of windows so it’s very bright and airy but the door is always open so it can be a bit chilly even inside. The view of the docks is pretty nice though and on weekdays around lunch time it gets pretty crowded but other than that, it’s usually fairly quiet. Also, there is the essential coffee shop loyalty card too with every 7th and then 13th drink free plus free wifi! Overall, nice cheap coffee, good selection of breakfast and lunch items and plenty of space and a nice view.

I keep wondering, how come herbstreet and Milano are always crazy full and busy and bakers is always half empty? I was there few times before work(breakfast). I’ve tried sweet chilli chicken wrap. Wrap outside was bit burn and inside still bit cold so I think they should invest in a better toaster. Also, the display doesn’t really look to appetising(vey sad sandwiches, especially croquet Monsieur) The place have amazing location therefore great opportunity to become one of the best places in area. Currently bakers is making money mostly on those who didn’t got the table in herbstreet. And this is sad as they are not too bad

Dont see myself going back here. I would usually go to Il Valentino but for a change I tried out this place. Wish I checked the recent reviews beforehand to save me the trip. I entered the place and see a chalkboard advertising a breakfast special.(Coffee and pasty special) Then when it comes to paying, I’m told the offer is for during the week only. You should really hide the sign from view then at the weekend. I was asked if I wanted jam and butter with my croissant. I said no, yet I still got charged for it(it said Croissant & Jam on my receipt. Maybe they charge for it by default whether you take it or not?) I don’t like to create fuss over a few cent so said nothing. That’s poor form though. I will keep my custom with IL Valentino. Their coffee is much nicer anyways

TL;DR: AVOID! The first time didn’t leave a good impression. The second time, months later, was even worse. I’m glad other recent reviews confirm my impressions. Americano comes in two sizes. Suspiciously on both occasions I was served mine in a small cup when I’d ordered a large one. I was assured that was a large one. Say nothing… Bagel Brunch was a disaster. I chose the poached egg rather than scrambled and was served a poor excuse of a double egg, overcooked by about ten minutes to the point that it was flat, looked like a fried egg and the yoke had turned into crumbles/powder. I brought it back and was told«this is the way we do it». Lovely! I refused to have this way and the waiter finally said«I’ll change it for you, no problem». The second version was not completely overcooked. But the bagel was grilled a second time and was completely dry, impossible to cut through. There was no butter, sauce or condiment of any kind, it was disgusting. Ten of us were there for brunch and none of us had what we wanted or it didn’t taste right. Some asked for butter but were told«we don’t have any butter» — so it was not a good experience you might say. I’m surprised the place is still open. Bad food is one thing. Bad service add insult to injury. None of us will return.

Great coffee, a day-changer of a muffin(cinnamon and apple GF a streusel top). Could do with some cosier/comfier seating. Seems to do well as a ‘coffee meeting’ venue. They were prepping lunch when I was here and something smelled amazing!

All I wanted was a quick flat white to go and something that would pass as breakfast as I was running late for work. There were 4 people in the queue ahead of me and it took a what felt like an eternity to place my order. The coffee wasn’t great, sadly but the breakfast muffin was absolutely lovely. I paid just under 8Euro which really is way too much for a small coffee and a muffin. You can get a steak lunch for that money somewhere else.

I hate to have to do this … but I have to. I used to go here all the time. Then they started closing earlier and earlier. They seem to start turning people away around 2.30 pm on a weekend? What? Its the weekend, people like to sit around a waste time drinking coffee. Maybe its not worth it for them. Ok, then put up a sign on the door. Its not that hard, I have some crayons you can borrow if you need. I used to love their treats. Now, they never have any. By the time I get there, there’s nothing left. Why? The last time I had one of the little mini muffins, it tasted of chemical. They used to taste like angel wings :(The brownie I used to dream about is never available. So we went on Saturday, the only thing available to snack on was some cookies and some croissants. Again, why? So, 2 coffees and 2 biscuits. Coffee was meh. I’ve a Nespreso at home which gives me ten times better for like 30 cents, but its about the experience right? The biscuits. Ah. whoever baked them should have thrown them away immediately. They were rock hard. They were so overcooked they were just 2 shades away from black. They were basically inedible. I didn’t waste my time complaining. It will be the last time they ever see us. What with several other options in the area, that actually have products and let me come and visit after 2.30 pm, I can get much better for cheaper.

Great place to order some coffee, sit back and read a book. The food is pretty mediocre, though.

As much as I do enjoy this place, the last few times I’ve been there their service has been SO unorganized. I do dragon boating every weekend on the docks, and we would often come here for a quick bite and coffee afterwards. EVERY time I go, I always order a latte and a «healthy muffin.» The muffin is pre-made, so you’re not waiting for them to be cooked. Yet, it would easily take 10 – 15 minutes of my waiting for the coffee and muffin. Half the time orders are table are forgotten, or they would keep bringing the wrong orders out. I understand it happens every so often when it’s quite busy, however lately it’s been weekly occurrence on Saturdays. Their other food is tasty as well, and worth a try. So if you want to come here, i recommend coming before they get too busy.

Yummy, had one of the best and largest baked potato for lunch with tuna, lovely coleslaw and side salad. They were really generous with the tuna and coleslaw. Was stuffed afterwards. The flat white was very nice as well, and I don’t normally drink coffee, only on special occasions. Staff was very nice as well. Great place to chill out and room for meetings as well.

I wish I could put this place in my pocket and take it home with me! I’m visiting Dublin for the week with a girlfriend, and so far we’ve come here everyday for the large/delicious cappuccinos and great food. The white subway tile, white marble countertops, carmel colored leather booths, fresh food and friendly wait staff keep us coming back for more. Each day we try something new, a salad(main); croque monsieur; pastries– always with a regular cappuccino with soft brown sugar… The ambiance is so relaxing and inviting, we stay for hours just enjoy each other’s company while watching joggers on the canal, and to people watch. This is the type of place that make neighborhoods feel like home!

First time here… and so far have a good impression! In terms of extras, the wifi is free and the loyalty card only needs 5 stamps to get 1 free coffee. There’s lots of seating(both outdoor and indoor) and you get to enjoy a lovely view of the canal and Bord Gais theatre. I ordered a regular(the larger size) cappuccino and it was fairly priced(2.75 Euro) compared to other coffee shops in the area. I also ordered a hazelnut brownie which was y-u-m. It was moist and chocolate-y and contained loads of whole hazelnuts. The young ladies who work here are all nice and very smiley which is always a plus on a rainy overcast day :). I’ll definitely have to come back to try the sandwiches and breakfast foods.
