Alteration Centre

I have come here twice for alterations to quite «complicated» dresses — IE dressed with quite delicate material or length changes that need to be asymmetrical because the type of dress. Both times the service was really friendly and I’m really happy with the quality of the outcome. It’s perfect. And it only takes a few days. The second time I came here to pick up a dress (today) I was a bit unhappy with the length, it was still too long, and I was feeling under pressure as I needed it for en event tomorrow night, so the lady fixed it up on the spot for me and the outcome was exactly what I wanted. Their prices are decent too — I was advised the maximum you pay for a dress alteration is 40 Euro (and that’s max, could be less), I think that’s very very reasonable really. Definitely recommend this place!
Only downside is they don’t accept cards, but so long as you know that (and they advertise it quite clearly in the shop) it’s fine.

Have t say used these guys all the time great customer service do anything for you.
Iv had countless trousers and jeans changed to slim fit and sleeves shortened zips fixed and almost everytime I buy or need something, I go to these lads.
Honest hard working family businesses like this will always get my custom ahead of the crappy franchises out there along with the other mediocre «tailors/​dressmakers» out there.

I should have taken a picture of my trousers (nice Banana Republic light wool) before bringing them in. Tearing at the cuffs, bike grease marks. Bad. Bad. «Can you save these?» «Yeah, of course. Come back in a week because we’ll send them to the dry cleaners… for the grease». The other customers, obviously regulars, said that it was the place…
So two weeks later, I came in and picked them up. Amazing. Like a resurrection of my trousers. Almost like new, though you could tell there was work. But ONLY if you looked down and deep at the cuffs.
Reasonably priced. Friendly and confident staff who know their stuff. My bike jacket is next…

Amazing service and really fast!

5euro for 2 buttons to be sewn back on and a pocket fixed. I checked the pocket before leaving and it was like new! You would have never had been able to tell that it had been ripped open! I brought it in on a Friday and it was ready on a Tuesday (bank holiday weekend).
The guy in the store is really nice and friendly as well.

Oh the perils of modern life and the over exultation of academia. OK you read Paradise Lost and mused over the meaning of To The Lighthouse but can you sew? Can you fix the leaky faucet in your kitchen?
Sometimes I wonder what type of society we are making, I mean not everyone can be a TV presenter. Thankfully for people like me that cannot sew or alter my clothes places like this are a Godsend. I feel trades people should be elevated higher then so many of academic programmes, I for one would have loved to have been a carpenter but there is still time!
I got the buttons on my coat and cardigan re-​sewn and the zipper in my trousers replaced. It came to € 38.
The folks are very friendly in there and efficient. I dropped it in on a Wednesday at 4pm and they said that it would be ready noon the next day. Teeming with customers of all backgrounds.
The one pain is that it’s up several flights of stairs… But hey exercise never killed anyone!

The sticker on the door says it all: I love Eamon. Eamon & co. have come my husband and my aid on numerous occasions, including putting final tweaks on his suit and my gown just two weeks before our wedding. At the top of that homey old stairwell you’ll find old-​fashioned craft and quality, along with a sense of community – when I see Eamon on the street, he always smiles and says hello.

Over the holidays I bought two pairs of jeans in the usual length I get them – but it seems the lengths are either getting longer or I’m shrinking (I’m not). After reading reviews online and getting some first hand reviews from friends, I went to the Alteration Centre. They were able to take up two pairs of jeans for only € 28. Overall, pretty good job. I noticed a few stray threads, but that was all. This place was crowded both times I went, so they must be doing something right!

We’re were desparate — we needed alterations and fast. The alteration centre was recommended to us to get our bridesmaid dresses altered and it has to be said they did it within a tight timeframe and at about half the cost we expected.
The place is small enough but it still has three changing rooms. Once we tried on our dresses, they made a few marks with chalk and pins and had them ready less than 24 hours

you konw the way your mom is really good with a needle and thread and she can take up any trousers and take in any skirt? she can even take in the most delicate of dresses and ensure that it comes out looking perfectly?
an you know the way if you tried it it would look like it was attacked by somebody with a ball of thread and a needle and there will be holes and gatherings where there arent supposed to be holes and gatherings. or if its not like that the work you do will fall apart the minute you get outside the door?
so what do you do if your mom isnt there to cater for your tailoring needs and what if you have realised that you should not attempt it yourself?
well this is the place for you! quick and cheap and professional, job done as good as your mom would do it, you just have to pay for it here! but sure at least it wont fall apart on your way home!

They did a great job of altering my russian military jacket and were able t oget it done in a day and a half. I would totally go back with any alteration needs. Good prices too.

There is this extremely irritating new habit in leg-​wear these days that dictates all trousers must be uniformly made in size ‘giant’ then left to you, the paying costumer, to fix. Meaning that, unless you bought trousers because your boat needed a new sail, or because you’re stilts were getting cold, or indeed that you needed something stylish to wear to your upcoming Guiness Book of World Records measuring event, that you’ll need to take them to a tailor to have them turned into something that you can use on you legs. The only real plus side to this system is that there’s no longer any point or need to try anything on anymore.
For this reason I have more and more call to visit the Alteration Centre. These guys are good, very centrally located, family run and within my budget. It costs € 12 to have trousers taken up and most often they’ll be ready the very next day. They do the whole gamut of alterations and although I have yet to avail of any of these expertise by the looks of the clothes they have on the rails for collection, debs dresses, coats, suits, you name it, they’re probably up to the task,
