This place used to be really nice to come for tasty Sat or Sun brunch but then something happened; the food quality dropped, level of service varies, they struggle to stick to their opening hours and menu got cut shorter. The other Peacock on Hatch Street Upper has managed to keep their original vibe and quality well, so it is clearly doable. Hoping PG on Merrion Rd gain their mojo back.

Had such a pleasant experience in peacock and green this morning. It’s located just off Merrion road, in a lovely country feel house. The décor is so pretty with Mismatched cushions, plates and tables. Each table has the cutest little cow milk jugs and an electronic waiter caller, which was very fun and new to me. The food was very good. I had porridge with berry compote, which was creamy and delishhhh. My mum had french toast, with carmalised pears and walnuts. She like it, but she said it was perhaps a little sweet for her. They sprinkled a lot of icing sugar over the toast, which I think was their biggest downfall. I loved it, but if you don’t have an extreme sweet tooth, defo ask for without. The tea was perfection. I ordered their peppermint, and it was so minty and fresh. Just the way I like it :) They also have a very large take away section. Very handy for all the offices near by. They have all their breads, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, scones… The lot. We also took a berry scone home with us. Which was enormous. We shared it between 3 of us, that’s how amazingly big they are. Also very yum, and would recommend. All and all a great lil find, hidden on Merrion road. I will defo b back to try some of their lunch items. Greatly impressed :)
