I agree with the other two reviews completely. We waited for 3 hours today. Totally unacceptable. This was our second visit to Dr. Pien’s office. The first visit we waited for approximately 1.5 hours. He has absolutely no bedside manner… everything is rushed because he was running late. I don’t trust his diagnosis because he barely looked at my brother. He did not take off the dressing where my brother’s infection was. Just poked around the area & asked if my brother had felt any pain then quickly dismissed us. The appointment & the wait was a complete waste of time. When we arrived the waiting area was packed with elderly patients so we checked in an proceeded to wait outside with other elderly patients. Some standing & waiting while others sat in the stairwell. As the waiting room cleared the staff did not bother to invite the other waiting in the hallway to come in & sit on the chairs rather than standing or sitting in the stairwell. They failed to keep waiting patients informed of what was going on or why the wait was taking so long. As others grew tired of the wait they approached the staff at the front desk where they continued to recite the same lines«It’ll be about 45 minutes, there are two people in front of you it will be approximately 30 more minutes, we are sorry for the wait, etc. etc.» As they recited those lines, they didn’t seem genuine, more irritated than anything else. I think everyone in the waiting room was more than patient & deserves more than a robotic«I’m sorry for the wait». Something needs to be done & the reviews from this doctor being tardy go back to 2014 so this confirms this is not a one time thing. I over heard another patient today saying the last time they were there they had waited over 2.5 hours. Ridiculous is an understatement. As we were leaving I asked to speak to the office manager as I feel she should & could have handled the schedule of appointments better. I suggested that in the future she should give patients more of a heads up of the wait prior to them arriving to the office. I’m sure she knew from the morning he was running late. Instead, while waiting I observed her discussing how they were going to paint & redecorate the office. Apparently Dr. Brian Pien was also seeing Dr. Francis Pien’s patients for the past 2 weeks since he’s been out. Shame on them for making their patients(& family members, loved ones who took off from work to assist) wait for extended amounts of time & not informing or giving them the option to reschedule their appointment. I believe they should stop taking more patients or appointments if they can’t handle the work load. They need to treat the patients they currently have with more respect. Dr. Pien & staff… if you expect patients to be on time & value your time you should do the same.

Confirm 2+ hours wait. Confirm only pays attention and talks to laptop. No «bedside» manner, when he is outside your room, he constantly repeats to himself for everyone to hear, «come on, come on, let’s move» «let’s go people» not sure if it’s to his staff, himself or indirectly to his patients, but if I had a choice, I would look elsewhere for help. I assume he is just picking up where his father left off. I hope his dad doesnt know what’s he’s doing for the family name. His staff seems to put up with it, and is friendly enough, but are extremely quiet when he us around. All are very young, I wonder if he has a lot of turnover. I know I wouldnt work in an environment like that. I usually see a few«old timers» in established medical offices, but not here. One more thing, the patient was there for a lingering cough, but he never once checked/listened to the patients lungs or chest, looked in the throat or anything. Didnt get close at all Just sat down and talked to the laptop and typed. Must be a magical laptop that can diagnose just by being in the room.

Extremely long wait(over two hours) for a schedule appointment time. I understand that delays happen but over two hours at a medical office is unacceptable! From my experience working in a medical clinic, people would be more understanding if they knew WHY they were waiting and if they were given an approximate time to be seen instead of being left to wait and wonder in a cold and rigid waiting room, but to be left there with no rhyme or reason is uncalled for. I once overheard a patient say(not at this office), «now let me get this right? If I am late for an appointment I get charged X amount of money. So how much can I charge the doctor for delaying my appointment time?» True story. I wanted to bust out that line and see what kind of response I’d get from the front staff. Instead, after patiently waiting for an hour I went to the front desk and asked how much longer since I had two elderly people with me who hadn’t eaten since early that morning(anyone with elderly people would know that they eat on a timely basis and anything past that schedule does not make for a good day). I was told that there were four people ahead of us and that he would see us in 30 minutes. Hmmm, math has never been my strong point but 4 patients in 30 minutes equates to roughly 7.5 minutes per patient visit(I wondered how long they had waited to be seen for only 7.5 minutes). I returned to my seat and was prepared to wait an additional 30 minutes(per the receptionist). What i didn’t expect was that she would return with a handful of snacks for my parents. Although I appreciate the gesture, old people don’t want to eat granola, candy or chips for lunch. We were ushered to a tiny room an hour later and waited some more. Doctor comes in with his laptop and sits on the exam table(there were two chairs and an exam table) there were four of us in the room. Apologizes lamely for the delay and does not bother to ask who is in the room. He has his attention focused on his laptop viewing the information and entering information, not once addressing the patient. I’m sorry, my loved one is old NOT deaf. After indicating that he should address my loved one he proceeded to ignore my statement. His cell phone rings and decides to answer it during our already delayed appointment. Unacceptable and rude. I’m sorry but long, unexplained delays is disrespectful of my time. My time is just as valuable as yours. Also at the end of the appointment, my loved one tells me, «i have no idea what he said!» Can you imagine what it must be like for the elderly who come unaccompanied to their appointments? Long waits and a physician who has no respect for your time and attention. Approximate visit time — 8 minutes. Truly disappointing.
