After riding the «Train des Merveilles» from Nice to Tende, we found this great little restaurant for lunch. We had been in France for a little over 2 weeks, and this is honestly the best meal we had had yet. It was lovely to see a menu that wasn’t like every other french bistro. A few of us had the menu du jour starting with a wonderful salad with warm chevre toast wrapped in bacon and ginger chicken with a beautiful light sauce. My 2 teenage boys have celiac disease and the chef had no problem adapting the menu to suit their gluten free needs. I can’t recommend this great little place enough, and the Train des Merveilles tour was a great day trip.

si vous êtes de passage à tende, allez faire un tour chez l’auvergnat dans la rue principale; le décor est kitsch à chier, au point d’en être amusant, et on mange très bien; il cuisine tout lui même avec des produits frais et l’ambiance est très agréable et simple; on a l’impression d’être invité chez lui, et si il a des champignons frais du jour, ramassés dans les environs, vous pourrez vous en régaler !!!
