This was the worst experience of Italian food I have had in my time at Paris. Overall Paris has amazing Italian food; however this place is just horrible. The staff is not helpful and in fact rude. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Stay away!

When the lunch rush hits on the Champs Elysées, it’s tough to find a calm place to have a nice meal that doesn’t break the bank. Pizza Vesuvio is fairly quiet, and while it isn’t the best Italian cuisine in Paris, it’s good for a lengthy lunch break with coworkers. My penne arrabbiata was sufficiently spicy(the tomato sauce was basic but homey, with just enough garlic). My colleagues ordered the lunch specials of a main and dessert: delicious polpette with eggplant gratin, and a sizeable sampling of two pasta dishes. For dessert, tiramisu. My only complaint would be the time it took us to get served, and then to get the check at the end of the meal. The restaurant wasn’t full, but the waiter’s attention seemed to be elsewhere.

Having walked up and down the Champs-Élysées, we were craving pizza and this seemed as good a place as any. Just a few steps from the Arc de Triomphe, the terrace was a fabulous spot for people-watching. The charcuterie and pizza were both fantastic(we ordered a Margherita but ended up getting something with pepperoni, mushrooms and peppers instead – pas de probleme). We had some beers and enjoyed a leisurely lunch followed by some café and cappuccino. Quite nice.

My friend Adam’s faced dropped. «Do you know it has 1.5 stars on Unilocal?» I nodded and pointed to the movie theater next door…“You know we have an hour until the movie starts and it’s a national holiday today, right?” He somewhat grouchily sat down. An hour later, we were walking into the movie, satisfied with our meal, the service, and the atmosphere. Yes it’s on the Champs and hence has to cater to tourists, but sometimes, that’s okay. :-)

After visiting the Arc de Triomphe, we were starving, and we stopped at the first place that had an available table. I had a glass of red wine and spaghetti. The food was so-so, but the bread was really good. Isn’t it always delicious in France? The seating is really tight. You’re pretty much sitting with everyone, but the view of the Arc makes up for it.

Perfectly acceptable sidewalk café and pizza joint on the Champs Elysees! We wiled away about 3 hours here waiting for the Tour de France to end. We had a great view of the Arc de Triomphe. We had several beers, including a Panache(mixed with lemonade) before settling on coronas with lime. I know, cliché Americaines: we didn’t care. We enjoyed a plate of hot frites and split a lovely pizza. Our server was super nice once he realized we were staying, and very attentive. I am somewhat surprised by the low scores: perhaps expectations? We had a nice time and a good snack!!!

The food was decent. We had pizza, pasta carbonara, and pasta vongole. The service was ok for the most part. I would have given 4 stars if the drinks were cheaper. 5 euro for a Coke, 5 euro for a tiny bottle of water,(approximately $ 7 usd each). Are you freaking kidding me?

We thought we would be clever and avoid the places on Champs Elysee which we thought might be overly touristy(you think?). Not finding anything nearby on Unilocal,we took a risk and headed into this Italian place on a side street. Pizza Vesuvius. It looks like they may have a branch on Champs Elysee as well(according to Unilocal). Oh well. We were seated by the window. It was not very full. I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese and my son ordered the Sweet Pepper Sausage Pizza. We also ordered a Salada Mixta. And 25 cl of house red wine. The salad was undressed and that was fine as we had oil and vinegar on the table. It was ok. The corn in it and heavy celery was a bit odd. We doctored it a bit with various condiments. The red wine was the next clue of a problem. It tasted close to vinegar. Upon taking my first sip, I asked the waiter if there are any other options. He took it away immediately and I thought: that was a nice touch, he wants to make this right. I ordered Italian beer instead, which was tasty. Sadly we later saw they left the wine on the bill. Oh well. So much for the galant act it had first seemed. The spaghetti itself was fine. The sauce, flavorless. The pizza crust was soft and tasty. The pizza was otherwise undistinguished. If you just want OK pizza, this place is probably ok. Otherwise look elsewhere.

The food here was good. I had a cocktail of pasta which included 4 of their pastas(cheese ravioli, tortellini, gnocchi and pesto pasta), and it was delicious. However, and I know I shouldn’t be surprised in the middle of the touristy Champs-Élysées in Paris, the service was absolutely terrible. The waiter did not say a single word to us the entire time — he only acknowledged our orders by nodding, and acknowledged our requests by literally scowling at us. When my sister asked for a box for her pasta afterwards, he gave her a «are you fucking kidding me?» look, turned around and came back 10 minutes later finally with a box, picked up her plate and dumped her pasta into it as fast as he could. Will never go back again.

This restaurant had a typical Italian menu but the food was quite good. We had a pizza with proscuitto, grana, and arugula and an assortment of pastas. The ingredients were fresh and the sauces on the pasta were better than I was expecting. Nice find off the Champs-Élysées.
