Overpriced, rude staff, noisy. The fish and chips came with nothing on the side, and cost 17 euros.

PAYHEREINEXACTCASHORELSE!!! I am a tourist from the USA and I traveled here with my sister who is also from the USA and in her mid-20’s. This place was recommended to me by my boyfriend whose brother lives in Paris. Our server was a young thin bald black man who spoke enough English as this place is common for tourists. It has an English menu. We ordered the mussels marinares. Our food came out quickly, but the mussels were smaller than what we were used to in the USA and not as flavorful. We ordered rose wine which was good. At the end of the meal our bill came to 41 euros and some change. We gave him exactly 51 and the change, expecting 10 euros back. We told him in the French we knew and English as well that we wanted 10 euros back(as you do not tip in Paris). He nodded, but did not return. After we watched him fold menus and reset tables for a few minutes, we called him over. We asked for our change. He came back with the coins, but no 10 euros. We told him that he owed us 10 euros still. He said no, and pulled out two twenties and said that we gave him that. We shook our heads no and told him to give us the 10. It got so bad that our neighbor who spoke French and saw what was happening translated in French to him the problem and he still refused. My sister had to get the other man in charge to have the problem addressed. He first pulled 5 euros out to give to my sister and we were both outraged. Finally, he gave us our rightful 10 euros and we left. What a tourist scam! Food is par, but the service is poor!!! Beware fellow travelers!!!

As we were strolling down Champs-Élysées, I got this sudden craving for mussels, so we decided to take a break from shopping here. We had mussels and chips plus a glass of beer. The food was average but the service could have been better. If there were other choices on Champs-Élysées, I probably wouldn’t stop in here again.

Busy time during a Sunday evening during Christmas week. Great area for shopping and convenient for an after shopping lunch/dinner spot. Wait staff are friendly and Speak English.

As expected the place is very touristic and service was not good at all. It took almost 10 minutes for someone to finally find us a table + another 15 to have a server. We had a fried sea food which was cold. It seemed like it was already cooked for hours waiting for someone to order it. The mussels were good. The entire place feels like a sea food fast food. The ambiance is loud and busy.

A delightful restaurant! Eating mussels in Brussels was a long ago experience. This restaurant was a short walk from our Paris hotel. The outdoor atmosphere was relaxing on a warm night. And the food was generous and affordable

Been here many, many times over the past 20+ years. Usually, Leon provides a good overall dining experience for a tourist Champs d’ ellyses restaurant. Not this visit. Although a busy Saturday early evening, the wait was short. However, afterwards the service was very sub-par. Waiting 15 minutes for our waiter. Not a good start. Then we ordered received our bottled water, opened, but not poured and we waited. Our beer and wine were nowhere to be found. After another 15 minutes our food order arrived, brought by another waiter even though our waiter was still at work. We asked him about our drink order and were surprised when he didn’t understand why we hadn’t received it. He went ho our waiter who then went to the bar, got our drinks and served us. What about mustard which is normally provided at time of service? Had to request. What about bread, also normally provided at time of service? Ask again. What about checking to see if the waste plate for shells, we had mussels as usual, needs to be emptied? Again, you had to request. Finally, we asked for our check, which again took 10 minutes to arrive. All this service was provided without a smile as someone, our waiter, most likely didn’t want to be working that day. We paid. Unfortunately in France tipping is not the norm not required. There is s 13% charge from the bill that is for service. This was unfortunate as it prevented me from expressing my disappointment for the service.

Good service, nice place, a little bit noisy but over all, they serve a quality food, they should make the outdoor area bigger, but whenever you come, 90% you will have a table.

We came here for the first time, in our visit from the usa. I think we found the one server who didn’t like americans, as he was very late in taking order, didn’t offer to refill drinks, nor did he help with ordering. I ordered the steak, half was grissle, and tough, and i ended up with stomach cramps and loose stool that next day. My wife ordered a shrimp dish, it was un cleaned shrimp and very bland, not worth the euros. I would not eat here again.

I’m a regular at Leon’s, and always order the curry mussels. Never disappoints. However, I did learn that the outlet on the Champs-Élysées charges about 10 Euros more than the other Leon restaurants in Paris. I understand that rent is probably a bit higher on the Champs, but the McDonalds nearby charges the same prices as their other stores.

Maybe one should have ordered the mussels, but if that’s the only thing that’s good, why have so many other things on the menu? We attempted ordering the three set lunch menu on display outside, but were told that it was«not available». Well… why is the sign outside then? At this point, we already felt kind of cheated. Oh well, we weren’t that hungry anyway, so we just ordered a main course. We both ordered the hamburger as we felt like eating something ordinary with a twist(potato patties instead of bread). This was a mistake. First of, the old waitress seemed really impatient, horrible at English and managed to screw up our simple order. We waited for around 45 minutes until I received my burger and my girlfriend received an ugly looking tartar with a sallad as a side order. I have no idea how this happened. We explained the mistake, and were told we would get a new burger. This took around 30 minutes. Further, the sallad side-dish(just leaves in some horrible dressing with way too much mustard) was not replaced with fries and at this point we were too tired to even bother. We felt horrible having to pay for this lousy food and lousy service. I think this place only survives due to its location. In conclusion, horrible service from horrible staff. Terrible inedible food(dry burger, and ultra-mustard stenched cheap sallad leaves with one tomato slice). Way to expensive for what was provided. Avoid at all cost! Trust me, you’d rather starve.

If you’re looking for some mussels with unlimited frites this is the place to be. It epitomizes touristy and honestly the food is decent, not the best dining experience you’ll have in Paris so missing out on this chain is not the worst thing. I really would only come here if there’s nothing else open nearby and you just want to eat something.

Like others who have reviewed this place, I sheepishly admit to having gone here, been REALLY put off by the whole TGI Friday’s type-thing going on inside, but actually did enjoy my mussels. The fries weren’t so great, they were fine, but nothing to rave about. But it was surprisingly good especially given the chain-y type feel, and I was impressed by the fact that they didn’t serve me a single dead/unopened mussel. For sure not an upscale experience, but if you’ve got a hankering for mussels while you’re in the city of lights, you can easily find one of these places and know you’ll get a good, not great, meal.

I’m a little embarrassed to admit we ate at this touristy place on the Champs Elysees. And I’m even more embarrassed to admit that we enjoyed it. We went for lunch on a cold rainy Sunday, when almost everything in Paris is closed. By the time we left there was a line out the door, and door good reason! The mussels were on point! So were the fries. Great service, TGI Fridays sort of atmosphere, and really quality mussels. Not every meal can be 3 courses and heavy French food. This was a much needed change of pace.

Decided to have dinner at Leon du Bruxelles while shopping at Champs Élysées. I always enjoy their Moules Mariniére which comes with frites. They usually serve sliced baguette with it, but the server didn’t bring any this time around. But since I was trying to eat less carbs, that was ok. The mussels were good as usual and so were the fries. All in all, it was as expected and the service was fine.

Visited this past September 2013. After a LONG day of site seeing and being tourists, we were starving, it was raining, and this was the closest restaurant in site. The restaurant was really busy and service was lacking. When we were seated, I skimmed through and picked smoked salmon with salad, pasta, and mussels. My two companions ordered pots of mussels with sides of fries. We waited around 30 minutes for the food. My meal was alright, the whole dish was cold– good portion size, but lacking in flavor. On the other hand, the mussel pots my companions ordered were both delicious! There was more than enough food. Our only mistake was we somehow ended up with bottled water instead of plain ice water(failed communication) and paid nearly 6 euros for the 1 bottle. Overall, it was pricey, my food tasted ok, and service was not the best.

After shopping in champs elysee my husband and I were searching for a place to eat. We knew all the restaurants on this strip would probably be tourist traps(considering most places we saw were pizza, pasta joints/laduree etc). We walked past this restaurant and the menu outside caught our eyes as we are both seafood lovers. This place is huge once you walked in, it definitely is a tourist spot with no local eating there at all. They even offer cocktail and martini(real french restaurants would serve wine only). They specialize in mussels with different types of broth for you to choose from. We ordered mussels in curry sauce and in garlic white wine sauce and both are very good with very generous amount of mussels. They also offer all you can eat fries!!! We saw people ordered waffles for dessert and they look really good, too bad we were too full to try. In terms of service, the servers got their job done efficiently however i must point out that they all look really miserable, like they truly hate working there!!! I guess who can blame them when they have to serve tourists all day! Overall, for a chain that mainly serves tourists, this place is still 100 times better than any chain restaurant in the states. I realize it is really hard to find bad food in paris :)

Oh my just order the most popular dish which are mussels in whatever sauce of your choice. You get such a huge portion of mussels. Along side that you get a basket of fries. The restaurant looks very small from the outside but it is huge! I guess they need to accommodate all the patrons. The staff was very nice and prompt with our order. I guess all the other reviewers went on a bad day or off time for the staff.

MOULES That is what you get here. Nothing else. They specialize in mussels in all kind of sauces, and made all different ways. You can get them marinated in crème sauce, fried, or baked. I got the pre fixe meal with an entrée, plat, and dessert… SALMONFUME Starter dish. Light smoked salmon. Nothing to rave about, but it was good. Two slices of smoked salmon with bread and butter. MOULESORIGINALELEONETFRITES The coquotte of moules a la crème and fries were the plate. The mussels were tender, no sand, and the crème sauce is fantastic. The pot is quite big, and I was full from it! CREMEBRULEE Semi sweeter than what I usually get. Good and light. WAFFLEAVECANANASETCREMEFRAICHE yummmy. Just yummy. The waffle was light and crispy. Topped with coconut ice cream and whipped cream. Also comes with a small side of raspberry sauce. I liked that they did not pour the sauce all over my waffle, so i can control the amount of sweetness. SERVICE Exellente. Try to get a seat in the back. The seats in the front by the door gets cold and the huge line of people standing in line waiting to be seated can get very crowded. Your chair will likely be jostled from the sheer amounts of people in line for lunch/dinner.
