We happened to be staying around the corner at best western louvre opera and had dinner here on our first night in Paris after arriving from Australia. Im a coeliac and had no problems communicating to the waitresses that I needed a gluten free meal using French translation cards. The head of house was very helpful and spoke English, I ordered the rump steak with mustard sauce, wedges and salad. My wife enjoyed a beef burger. Definitely a handy little spot if you’re tired and looking for a decent easy meal away from the busier streets of Paris.

Decent little café tucked away in a little street near Opera. We tried the mixed plate(meats & cheese) & the poilane savoyarde, washed down with some pressions & red wine. The meats(4) were tasty, there was a good selection & with the variety of cheeses(5) it was the perfect amount. The savoyarde was a decent size but very very salty. Good side of homemade fries helped balance the dish overall. Service was a bit mixed.

This is a café/bar so no frill but the food is very good. Particularly with local French food. We thoroughly enjoyed the cod in provincial sauce. The cod is surprisingly fresh. Beef bourguignon was very good but it’s not a standard menu item. Found this café last year when we visited Paris. Came visit again this year and ordered the fish again — still very good. Beef bourguignon wasn’t available. Price is also very reasonable.

My family & I decided to go to this café based on the Unilocal & another travel website reviews. We went on our first night in Paris… we weren’t starved, but wanted to eat so that we wouldn’t be hungry later. Overall it’s a decent neighborhood restaurant. The view is nothing to speak of(front faces another building; it’s not on a main thoroughfare), but it is a nice open air café. The staff was very welcoming and kindly helped me communicate using my VERY poor French speaking abilities. The menu is in French, German, & English. The service was good, however if you’re in a rush, note that the service(as in traditional in France) is not quick. Mealtime is slow & relaxed & enjoyed in Paris! Also remember that dinnertime in France starts @ 7 pm. Most restaurants aren’t opened until this time. We arrived slightly after 7; we weren’t the first patrons, but the restaurant was getting more crowded as we were leaving. The menu has a lot of selections ranging from«burgers»(including traditional meat burger, chicken & fish sandwiches), a wide range of large salads, and house specialities. One caveat, my 13 year old daughter didn’t find anything that she wanted to eat. However another American family sitting near us with teen girls didn’t seem to have the same issue. I didn’t notice nor ask if there was a children’s menu. I had the Pâté with toast tips & the Seared Tuna; my husband had the Onion Soup & Small Salad & my mother-in-law had the Salad Berge. We all enjoyed our meals. The restaurant also has a wide range of alcohol options including spirits, beers, & wine. Bottom line, you will get a good meal & enjoy the French dining experience. Café Le Dalayrac is a good choice.
