It was too much expensive I ordered a sandwich and it was too chewie . The most shocking part was seeing a mouse and the waiter didn’t do anything when I told him.

Frankly, this place sucks so I’m surprised it’s this popular, more so due to clueless tourists like ourselves. We had a Croque Madame and their house special Bonaparte salad. Croque Madame is sadly one of the worst I’ve had in Paris, it was incredibly dry and the egg was already cold when it arrived. The salad was more of rye toast with roast beef and little shredded carrots. The wine is overpriced and not poured generously, like everywhere else in Paris. Our server was inattentive and rude. Far better food to eat in Paris, avoid this place.

Friendly wait staff, nice atmosphere, good location, and delicious food. What more can you ask for? If you’re not feeling very adventurous, try the hot dog, seriously! It is super good! Two«dogs» served on a baguette which is sliced down the middle and all covered in cheese! And if you feel like an after dinner drink, get the«French Coffee». Cognac and espresso topped with whipped cream makes for a nice way to finish the meal and do some people watching.

Surprised that everyone loved the service here because they were very slow to attend to me. As I type, I have now waited 20 minutes just for them to collect my check so I can get change. took about 30 minutes to even get a check… Food was fine

Great atmosphere and a perfect way to start my trip to Paris. This place is everything you would want from a Paris Café. I ordered 25cl of red wine(can’t remember which one) and just sat there like all typical Parisians do and people watched. If you come to Paris you have to people watch at least once. It is so much fun and unlike in other cities, it is socially accepted here ! Back to the restaurant. The service was great as was the atmosphere all in all even though the wine was a bit pricy I loved the experience and would come back again.

First, I’d consider this place to be a bit more expensive than than the 2EURO distinction. Secondly though, this is totally worth it. We grabbed a croque madam and a croque provencal with some french onion soup and a couple cappuccinos. The service and food quality was great and we’d definitely go back again.

My friend and I came in for lunch. The service is friendly, especially for Paris! I actually really liked our server — he was prompt, kind, patient with our French, and didn’t take smoke breaks while waiting on us. There wasn’t a wait for a table but it was relatively busy and our food took a while. I got the Croque Provencal; it was good, but I have had way, way better Croque variations. My friend got an omelette, which she enjoyed. The prices were fair(and much cheaper than certain sub-par places on Saint-Germain). Overall, it’s cute and conveniently located but nothing to write home about.

Location and ambiance — great. Onion soup € 12.50 and Croquet Monsieur € 10 were overpriced and the worst we had in Paris

A wonderful little French spot to hang out at on the way home from Notre Dame. We had a window seat and Julian was very helpful with selections. I think the French have it down. Lots of small cafes, some specialize and there is what ever you want. The service has been great. We ordered a cheese plate and the dessert special of the day — Strawberry Pie. If you haven’t been to France get over here, it is really nice.

Great location, good people watching spot, but you’re not gonna get great authentic French food here. My croque Monsieur looked like something I would get in America. Maybe it’s a bit of a tourist trap but I was expecting so much more for my first croque in paris

Staff are decent, speaks decent English and has an English menu! I gave it 4 was because I didn’t feel very welcomed when I went in, compared to the locals there. I’ve tried the Croquet Monsieur after reading the previous review. It was great especially with the environment.(To be honest, the rain helped to make the place that much more cozier) Ordered the Cappuccino as well, was not bad!(I’m not much of a coffee drinker, so I can’t judge that perfectly) Also, the Onion Soup was perfect for the rainy weather! Only thing that shocked me was the charge of mineral water of 6 Euros.

Found this gem on my first day in Paris. We ended up coming here 3 or 4 times. It’s quaint and filled with locals. The waiters are very nice and will bring you an English menu if you ask. The coffee, wine and food are all superb. Pick a sidewalk table and enjoy for hours!

The Croque Monsieur!!! Omg soooo good Great people watching and sometimes live music outside Close enough to St Germaine blvd but enough off the beaten path to get out of the hustle and bustle Nothing fancy but good food On a cold day be sure to bring a jacket and scarf, even inside isn’t shielded from the cold and wind

This is a nice traditional café that is open very late so is helpful for the all night Parisian traveler. Took more than one try to get my meal right, but the food was delicious and the staff friendly in correcting their mistake. The French onion soup was perfection and my croque Provençal exactly why I wanted.

Awesome little café that saved us from the somewhat unexpected heavy rain of Paris. The onion soup and croque madame were delicious and the service and staff were very kind! It gave us a nice break to observe how Parisians manage the heavy rain! Give it a shot if you’re looking for a good break from shopping as well!

I’ve been at Le Bonaparte on different Paris trips for lunch, dinner and very late dinner, too. Each time, the experience has been great. I’ve to say that the warm service here clearly makes it stand out from the rest of the brasseries and cafés in the area(and perhaps in Paris as well). The food is good and very fairly priced. Les boissons –in contrast– are on the pricey side. The café crème is sublime, as are their desserts. They also offer a menu fix that’s perfect. Just make sure you understand what the«plat du jour» is: my parents and I ordered something called«boudin noir» that looked pretty much like a burger and… well if you speak French you know what our face looked like as we discovered that it’s a form of blood pudding! Ugh and hahahaha at the same time! The rest of the food and the dessert and coffee were marvelous. The sidewalk seating overlooking the square of Saint Germain des Prés is as crowded as terraces get with chairs lined up as if you were going to play musical chairs(no space between them!), but might well be one of the best people watching spots in the city. In a neighbourhood packed with super touristy options and over-priced places, I’ve made Le Bonaparte my top choice. I definitely recommend you at least give it a go! You won’t regret it.

This was our go-to café while in Paris. The wait staff is very accommodating, and the food was top notch for a street café. We loved it so much, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner here, plus late night coffee and drinks. If you’re looking for a café tucked away from the tourist traps, but still close to all the action of St. Germain de Pres, this is a good option.

We walked all the way from Opera on a Sunday for a relaxing brunch at this spot. We sat in the chilly sunshine on their patio and had the friendliest, smiling waiter ever. Truly the best service we received during our entire trip to Paris. Most importantly, I LOVED the patio here! It was super chilly when we were there, but the fleece blankets kept us warm. I had a croque madame, which was super rich with the fried egg on top. It was definitely fuel for our day of walking! I’m not sure I’d get it again — I could barely finish it! I enjoyed several café au laits and just relaxed and people watched our brunch time away, since Fashion Week was providing numerous opportunities for the spectator sport(I swear, at least 3 women walked by without pants!). Excellent service, a patio with a great view(and the sounds of live music from closeby), and yummy coffee. Perfect.

A voir…
