I stayed at the Berkeley Hotel and it was a rather pleasant place to install ourselves for our short stay in Paris. The room was surprisingly nicely sized and we had a full private bath in the room. I was really surprised to see that we got a full bathtub, a huge closet. The sound of the garbage trucks rumbling by underneath our street-side windows weren’t very loud; those must have been some well-insulated or double-paned windows — nice. Not something I had experienced before in a Paris hotel. And the concierge were very helpful with providing tourist information, taking messages, calling cabs. The maid service was crotchety if you still happened to be in your room when they came by; but that’s like the norm with them in Paris. Berkeley Hotel is in a great location for getting to and from the train stations and airports with its proximity to the Montparnasse RER-Metro station. If you want to stay topside there are more than enough bus stops for you to hop on and take wherever you please. As well the Montparnasse quartier is very walkable as is most of the city; it is filled to the brim with restaurants, cafes, bars, movie theaters, boutiques and so on. We had a great stay here.
