We had a great experience at Josephine’s…we went for a late breakfast and it’s everything I imagined a café in Paris to be — quaint, beautiful breads and pastries and great service! Definitely recommend a stop when you’re near the Arc!

Another wonderful boulangerie. Very conveniently located near the Champs Elyse. If you need to grab a quick bite while visiting the arc de triumph or shopping on the boulevard this place will do the trick.

A éviter absolument

Went to Josephine for lunch after finding it on Unilocal.Got some sandwiches and macaroons, but didn’t have the best experience. Food: Sandwiches: Pre-made deli case sandwiches were totally edible and on the better end for pre-made fare. Macaroons: AMAZING. Go there for the pastries and desserts.(pistachio were the favorite) Experience: Overall, I completely agree with the other Unilocalers they’re rude here. I think the staff at Josephine were the only rude Parisians we encountered, actually. They were obviously frustrated with our lack of knowledge of the French language, despite our honestly not too bad efforts, and were frustrated to have to deal with us. We did come during the busy lunch hour, but I don’t think that we took up any more of their time than the Parisians did and honestly the lines were not that long anyway. However, I’ll be dreaming of those macaroons for the rest of my life, so I’d brave their glares and grumbles to taste them again. I only wish I’d tried more of the pastries!

Don’t go here as the old bag working the cash register was a class A bitch to my wife for simply asking if they served coffee when we paid for our order.

one lesson i’ve learned while traveling in various unfamiliar corners of the world: i will find my way back with unforgettable discoveries and memories no matter how long it takes! josephine boulangerie is one of those memories folded with multilayer of joy and exhilaration. we stumbled upon accidentally when we took a wrong turn. we were looking for breakfast and coffee, and the breads displayed in the windows and illy sign called out our names. with a charming patio facing the streets and even more charming seating area upstairs, this boulangerie/patisserie was definitely a gem in the neighborhood where the glitzy champs-elysees was just a block away. we picked out some familiar breads(pain au chocolat, brioche, croissant, nothing more than 2 euros each) among an array of other baked goods along with that illy coffee, and took seats upstairs. most of the customers(i only heard french spoken here) took their«continental» breakfast to-go which is a much cheaper options(we ended up paying almost double for eating in!). the breads we bought were unbelievably fresh and delicious. i had visited quite a lot of boulangerie and cafes next 10 days in paris and rome, and still to this date, josephine’s breads are something not to be forgotten. needless to say, this place became our little secret breakfast club during our stay in paris. josephine boulagerie also sells sumptuous looking cakes and cookies as well as sandwiches. unfortunately, we did not have a chance to sample them, but i can’t wait to come back and try them all. again, this is not a tourists filled french bakery, so don’t expect the servers to understand english(the main reason why we only ordered the familiar breads and café au lait).
