Incredibly NOISYALLDAY&ALLNIGHT. It’s location is Rue Vaneau & Rue de Sèvres which is a crazy busy road. Free wifi that is like DIALUP. Location is NOT ideal for seeing Paris sights. The so called breakfast area is minuscule. No cappuccino. Reception attempts to be helpful but the English is ultra limited. I can hear people sneeze & talk in the next room. Rug, furniture & walls need a redo. Bathroom ceiling needs a scrubbing & repaint. Rm 401 is at the end of the building adjacent to Rue Sèvres w two cafés that stay open late & patrons are loud. No US adaptors. No iron. Blow dryer couldn’t blow a sheet of rice paper if it tried. Only positive: larger double room w a real sized comfy bed & marble(closed) fireplace. At $ 240 a night I expected a whole lot better. AVOID.

Loved my stay at Hotel Vaneau Saint Germain! I visited paris alone 20th my 21 month old son, and this hotel was in an excellent part of town(apparently the 6th arrondissement is the poshest). The hotel itself is centrally located and there are tons of cafes, bakeries and even a large grocery store a stones throw away. Room 101 is a gorgeous suite room with huge cathedral style window and the toiletries were to die for. Famous french brand called Nuxe. I saved them as gifts!

Really happy with my stay here. Extremely reasonably well priced, friendly staff and comfortable beds. Definitely not luxury but comfortable and affordable. If you are just looking for a comfy, central place to rest your head after a day of site seeing, this is a great option.

I stayed here for 2 nights and was disappointed. First the positives — the room was a nice size for Europe with a cute fireplace and a balcony-window. I was on the fourth floor and it was quiet. The bedding was comfortable and room clean. Now the negatives — the photos are misleading. the lobby area does not look the way the hotel advertises it. The lobby opens up to the«conference room» which is more a storage room where luggage is stored. No one helps you with your luggage. The staff women are VERY rude. The hotel is run by one person, a hardworking woman who works there all day everyday. The problem is she works there all day everyday and thus is too tired to be polite. I cannot blame her for her rudeness, but when one is on vacation they don’t want to come to a hotel only to be met with«well didn’t the reservation tell you when you would be able to check in, huh??» when you politely ask if the room is ready for check-in at noon. And while I feel bad that she works so hard, I am not sure I want to hear about how hard she works every time I see her, when I am on vacation trying to escape my own hectic work life! I have also heard her on the phone with other guests telling them she cannot come up to their room to help as she manages the hotel alone. She was so busy when I came(at noon on Sunday) that she said«I am so busy with the incoming reservations that I prefer you fill out this paper form while sitting on that table there». The location of the hotel is okay, but not in the pretty part of Paris. Vaneau metro station is less than a minute away but only has one metro line going through it. The restaurant near the hotel is average. The hotels in the Latin Quarter seem more charming and were close to a lot more cafes.

Passez votre chemin.

I stayed at Hotel Vaneau for 3 nights during my vacation in Paris this year. Here are the pros and cons I share with you: PROS: 1. Great locations. Located in the hip Saint Germain des Pris area(7 arr.) and it is walking distant to all the shopping boutiques and restaurants like Le Comptoir. 2. Convenient — It is literally a block away from the Vaneau Metro station so it makes it easy for getting around Paris. Across the street from the hotel is a supermarket so we could go get water and snacks. 3. Lots to do near the hotel — Just 5 minutes away is the famous Le Grand Epicerie, the famous gourmet luxury supermarket where you can get anything from foie gras, pâté to champagne and among other things. Next door to the Grand Epicerie is the huge department store. 4. The staff speak English and they are very helpful with giving you direction. 5. The bed is comfortable and the room comes with a safe to store your important documents that you don’t want to carry around town. 6. Affordable — Average room rate was 125 Euro($ 175) including tax, but not breakfast. You’re in Paris, you don’t need to eat hotel breakfast. There are tons of boulengeries out there. CONS: 1. The room is small compare to the US size, which is expected. But the room was also a little run down at least the carpet is. The bathroom has a bath tub, but very small and old. 2. Not much amenities in the room. This is bare basic room. 3. The thermometer in the room doesn’t work. 1 night it was so hot from the heating system that we had to crack the window open. 4. Elevator didn’t work — at least when we were there so we had to haul our luggage up a flight of stairs. Thank goodness our room was on the first floor. When we checked out, it was working again. Overall not a bad place to stay if you are only looking for a place to sleep and shower. I doubt any visitors will be spending too much time in the room since you are in Paris. We didn’t have any complaints, it was super quiet even though our look faces the street. We slept well every night and had a wonderful time in Paris.
