Hôtel Kléber

Very charming little hotel, for a visit to the city the location is fantastic… if you walk to the corner (maybe 10 steps from the front door) looking one direction is the arc de triumph, and look another and its the Eiffel Tower. The staff was always friendly, and several restaurant choices in short walking distance. Who doesn’t want champagne and a jacuzzi bath after exploring the city?

Simple and clean hotel near Champs Elysee and the subway. The staff is friendly here but don’t expect much from your room and the elevator is tiny. You’re in Paris and I would hope the only reason you would use your hotel is as a place to lay your head and get some rest at night. This a prime location near the subway and would stay here again if I found a great deal on the hotel room again.

J’ai passé un week end à Paris avec mon amie et apres avoir cherché un hotel et un restaurant proches des Champs Elysées pour tout faire à pied avec un budget correct, je me suis arrêté sur l’hotel Kleber, réservé via
. Sincerement c’était très bien, propre, chambre d’une superficie correcte (chambre standard), mini bar, coffre, écran plat, sdb avec baignore, bar ouvert H24 et tres bon petit dej. Je né regrette rien, je vous conseille de foncer ! Ps: j’ai mangé à la fermette Marboeuf à quelques centaines de metres. L’idéal car vous faites tout ca à pied ! Resto, Champs Elysées et hotel.

I’m sure everybody knows that Kleber was a common soldier in Napoleon’s army who rose to become a General? Well anyway, that’s who the hotel is named for and it is full of the Second Empire style that reflects its name. In other words it’s heavy with Napoleonic esprit: marble floors, crystal chandeliers, ornate and heavily upholstered furniture, life-​size statues and incredible trompe-l’oeil paintings that feature monkeys and other creatures in appropriate costume. Not exactly minimalist, this place!
There will be some surprises for the non-​European visitor: breakfast is served in the basement (a nice room, well lit, but still not the kind of sunny breakfast area one might expect) and there is only one suite here, which sleeps four people, otherwise double and twin rooms are the norm. The rooms themselves are compact, as are the bathrooms, but they are redeemed by lovely décor and the whirlpool baths in several rooms ask in advance to try and get one!
This is a polyglot hotel English was the lingua franca during my visit although I speak fluent French, but I heard a Japanese visitor being dealt with in his own language and Spanish comes naturally to most of the staff. Parking is sometimes available I gather arrangements can be made, given warning for a spot to be found (at a price) reasonably nearby. Also, the staff are ferociously well informed about Parisian eateries and will do you proud with their restaurant recommendations.
