Excellent food, very nice ambience, but the service has been too slow (one hour between ordering and receiving the food). Note that the price ended up being about 24 euros for a main course and dessert, and the 18 euros menu is only for lunch.

My group of friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals! Service was excellent. Was a full house when we arrived but the waiter did his best to get us in within 10 minutes. Space was small, busy but quiet and decorated nicely! Soup de jour is a must, all the the plats looked/​tasted outstanding and dessert was fantastic! The three course meal was incredibly well priced at 18 €. Best price we found the entire vacation.

This place was AMAZING. They have a pre fixe menu with a couple choices but everything we tried was AMAZING. They buy their ingredients fresh every day from the local market and they’re only open very short hours so be sure to make a reservation. The restaurant only holds 26 and they let you in at 7:30 and you have to be out by 9:30. We would totally go again!

We were lucky to arrive just early enough (around 7pm on a Friday night!) before the dinner rush. Once we were seated, the place filled up fast! Adorable little restaurant! Only a pre-​fixe 3-​course menu for € 17/​person, but great value and amazing quality comfort food for the price! Very friendly, English-​speaking staff. Quick service too. Side note: At one point the host/​waiter turned down the lights and brought out a candle-​lit dessert for another restaurant patron and the entire restaurant burst into song with «Joyeux Anniversaire.» So endearing! Anyway, delicious dinner and delightful ambience!

Spectacular little find with a delectable menu! We had the heirloom tomato & melt-​in-​your mouth burrata starter, the ‘Lark Stew” which was ground pork wrapped in sliced beef, stewed over some long hours to form a unforgettable treat for your tastebuds, topped with penne perfectly cooked in a mason jar, and our last dish with thick but tender carpaccio, accompanied with Parmesan, arugula, and hearts of palm. We finished the evening with a perfectly whipped chocolate mousse. The price was unbeatable and service was incredible. Great place for just about anyone!

Arrived without a reservation at 9:15 pm on a Friday and was lucky to snag a table for two. The locals who shared our table said a reservation was required six weeks in advance.
This place is completely charming. The pre-​fixe menu (17 €/​pp which includes a starter, entrée, and dessert), and is written on the wall and rotates every two weeks.
But the thing that makes this restaurant stick in my mind is the way it takes you back in time like a Wes Anderson film. Everything here seems exactly where it’s supposed to be. That, of course, includes you.

Superbe, cuisine de saison, menu unique entrée plat dessert à 19 euros, décor de bistrot typique. Je me rappelle d une jolie soupe de peches et sa chantilly en dessert. Réservation obligatoire et trois semaines à l avance en général, et oui le restaurant est victime de son succès et la salle est toute petite.

I came without reservation and so lucky to have a place. The food is amazing here, all the customers are French except me lol. And the service and wine is awesome too. Highly recommended!

My boyfriend and I had big smiles on our faces basically the whole time because this food was fantastic. Really excellently prepared dishes in a nice cozy atmosphere (we sat at a large table next to others). It’s always a good sign when the restaurant is packed with locals (we’re glad we made a reservation a couple of weeks before — Friday dinner was already booked so we went for lunch). We had everything from oeuf meurette to tender lamb to duck with a hint of honey to a fresh cheese with raspberry coulis. I follow a gluten free diet and the waiter understood this (I confirmed by saying no farine de blé) and told me the 2 dishes I couldn’t order (quiche or creamy risotto although in retrospect the lamb had couscous on the side so he might have taken what I said quite literally), but one of the starters had a piece of bread on top and he said «just don’t eat the bread.» So if you have celiac disease, you might want to be careful/​better explain (to be fair, I didn’t use the word «allergy»). In short, excellent 3 course meal for 17 euro. Perfection.

If you’re in Nice, and you want a really good, no really great, home style meal make tracks (no make a reservation) to go here. A little hard to find, but also hard to leave after a wonderful 3 course meal that is as good (or better) than places 4 times more expensive. Our table had a variety of dishes, all delicious.
A wonderful small bistro type place with very few seats.
Delicious (and well priced wines).
Worth finding, and well worth recommending.

17 euros for a 3 course lunch/​dinner is exceptional value. However, the food here is not just cheap, but is fantastically delicious as well. It was so good that my wife and I ate here twice during our 3 days in Nice.
This place gets booked up, so it’s best to make reservations beforehand. However, we failed to do so on both of our visits. The first night, we showed up 30 mins before they opened for dinner. The server (owner?) told us to return right before they opened, and he would see if they would be able to accommodate us.
Luckily, he was able to find a spot for us, although we had to share a table with another couple. Over the course of the night, he sent a number of people away. While there were empty tables still available, I think that he leaves them vacant due to limited server/​kitchen capacity.
The food was great. It’s been over a month since our trip. However, I can still remember that the avocado and crawfish salad and braised pork (or was it veal?) really stood out. The lemon tart dessert was also exceptional. However, all of the dishes were very flavorful and well cooked.
The second evening, we again showed up without reservations. We had thought about making them the night before, but were unsure whether our plans would work out and allow us to return for dinner. Once again, we showed up early. Sporting sad puppy dog looks on our faces, we asked «Do you remember us? Do you have any room for us again tonight?»
The server/​owner must have taken it as a compliment, since once again, he made room for us. This time, we sat with an American mother/​daughter couple. We happily explained to them the entire menu, which we remembered in detail from the night before. At the end of the night, we were happy to pay our 17 euros for another exceptional meal.

I didn’t understand that I was supposed to choose one starter, main and a dessert. So I ordered 3 starters for myself and my hubby. The waiter looked a little startled but maintained his composure and placed my order.
The lentils with mussels was amazing. I am not a fan of lentils, but Chez Palmyre’s lentils were amazing. They were probably Puy lentils. The mussels were fresh. It was my favorite thing on the menu.
The croque monsier was good as well, but not special.
Veggie soup (soup du jur) was decent. It was a little bland, we should have salted but didn’t. Our error.
Veal main dish was good. Again it could have used a little salt but I didn’t salt. Our error again.
Hubby ordered the gnocchi. Don’t worry I gave him grief for this lack of judgement. He said he didn’t want any meat. Whatevers. It was not good, it was not bad. I’ve had worse gnocchi.
We skipped dessert because we were stuffed. Looked at the bill and was amazed at the quality that we got for the price.
Even though I didn’t love more than half my dishes, for the price, it can’t be beat.

Von allen Restaurants, die wir in Nizza probiert haben, das Beste: Für 17 € gabs ein Drei-​Gänge-​Menü, der Wein war toll, das immer wieder nachgefüllte Brot lecker, die Atmosphäre super und die Bedienung sehr nett. Nicht touristisch wie andere Läden und sehr sehr leckere Speisen. Waren hin und weg. Werden wieder kommen, wenn wir mal wieder in Nizza sind.

I am really thankful for Unilocal because the reviews really has been on the spot for all the restaurants I have recently gone to in NIce! Chez Palmyre is one such gem! Our family was happy to sit among all the local French that were here. We ordered all different dishes and were happy with all of them. The price for the prix fixed menus were incredibily reasonable. And there were many choices for the menus. We were all happy by the time our meal was done, especially my husband who took care of the bill!

Quel dommage, nous avons été bien déçus par un accueil discourtois et impoli. Malgré une réservation, il né nous a pas été possible de goûter les travaux du Chef. Pour l’image de marque de notre région, nous espérons que les touristes sont mieux reçus que les autochtones. En ce qui nous concerne, nous né réitèreronsas l’expérience et né conseillerons en aucun cas cette adresse.

dans ce petit restaurant très sympathique il y avait ce soir-​là une clientele surtout étrangère, dans une ambiance chaleureuse., cuisine savoureuse de grande classe, plats copieux pour un prix très abordable, belle carte des vins et service efficace. Une adresse à recommander

Ayant testè tous les restaurants du vieux nice le palmyre est ma meilleure découverte. les plats sont preparés avec soin et talent. un trés bon vin perle de st roseline a 16 euros la bouteille pour un menu a l ardoise entrée plat dessert a 15 euros. il n ya pas photosles autres restaurateurs qui n aiment pas les critiques sur le net écrits par des clients (nice matin du 15/​04/​2013) seraient bien inspirés de le testerayant pris le soin de reserver une table.

2013… Mieux qu’en 2012 et 2011…
… Parce qu’à chaque fois le délicieux succès de la récidive s’additionne au plaisir d’y revenir encore et encore ! Pourvu que ça dure même si deux fois sur trois ils né réussisent pas à me trouver deux p’tites places à l’improviste dans un tout p’tit coin au sortir de la cuisine rien que pour essayer de me faire plaisir alors que je n’avais ni programmer ni, of course, réserver… Vous, pensez-​y ! Amazing, inexpensive, delicious, charming!!!

Le meilleur qualité/​prix du Vieux-​nice, avec son menu à 15 euros, fait maison.
L’accueil et le service sont bons, même si l’endroit y est bruyant.
Les plats sont très bons, même s’ils risquent d’être un peu justes pour les gros mangeurs.
Un incontournable !!!

He oui ! cela valait le coût de réserver 2 semaines à l’avance !! car pas facile d’avoir une table pour 4 surtout le week-​end ! et pour cause, l’endroit est petit et pris d’assaut par ses habitués ! Les plats sont délicieux, la déco style bistro très conviviale, un vrai régal !

Restaurant super sympa
Nous connaissions Le Palmyre depuis un moment, mais depuis la nouvelle direction c’est devenu notre restaurant préféré. L’accueil est très sympa, le décor est plaisant et apaisant, les plats sont succulents et bien présentés, mais en plus on se sent super bien comme chez nous et en plus la cerise sur le gâteau: le prix est trés abordable. Bravo pour l’equipe !

A recommander !
Petit restaurant où la qualité et la quantité sont au rendez-​vous. Il est rare de trouver des restaurants où l’on puisse trouver des menus à une quinzaine d’euros (entrée, plat, dessert) de cette qualité. Lieu pris d’assaut. Si vous n’avez pas réservé, peu de chance que vous obteniez une table.

Que dire du gâteau de grand mère? Que c’est le meilleur ?! Et bien chez palmyre c’est pareil, quand on y goute on né s’arrête plus ! On y retournerai tous les soirs. Bravo à ce chef talentueux qui déclenche en vous ce plaisir de la table aux vues des assiettes et au premier coup de fourchette ! Né vous fiez pas à cette ardoise si modeste qui cache des petits trésors… L’accueil et l’addition né font que décupler le plaisir ressenti dans ce petit restaurant bijoux…

This is a tiny place located in the old part of Nice. Open for lunch and dinner, reservations are a must or you will be turned away as there is only a limited number of tables.
The food is fresh and truly French family style. The choices are one prix fixed menu at 15 euros per person that lets you try out local delicacies.
The décor makes you think you are eating in your Grandma’s kitchen.
The quality of the food is worth the hassle of making reservations a few days in advance.
Locals keep on coming back: a good sign.

C’est un vrai plaisir d’aller dejeuner ou dîner Chez Palmyre ! Les plats sont excellents, originaux, et bien servis. Le changement d’ardoise tous les 15 jours permet de né jamais se lasser. Et que dire du prix, tout simplement extraordinaire, surtout en comparaison des prix pratiqués aux alentours. Une adresse à né surtout pas louper !

Sehr gutes Gasthaus mit guter, franz. Kueche. Sehr empfehlenswert und nicht touristisch !!!

L’un des meilleurs rapport qualité/​prix du Vieux Nice
Philippe et Vincent ont repris l’an dernier, cette institution sur le Vieux Nice, en offrant un accueil très sympathique dans ce petit restaurant (25 place), la réservation est impérative, une carte qui change tous les 15 jours, avec des plats de toujours très bonne facture, et une addition très raisonnable. Bref en gardant le côté traditionnel, nappes à carreaux, une très bonne ambiance, et des plats maison de bon niveau, même si l’endroit est petit, et les tables serrées, cela demeure un excellent choix.

Restaurant magique, dans lequel j’ai passer une super soirée, très convivial, je me suis régalé !!!

Resto familial haut en couleurs
Petit restaurant familial né comprenant que 6 tables dans une salle laissée dans son jus depuis plusieurs années, voire l’année de sa création en 1926, dirigé de main de maître (sse) par la patronne qui n’hésite pas à donner son avis même quand on né lui demande pas, ambiance très conviviale, cuisine très traditionnelle et niçoise, sans surprise mais bien servie, une adresse typique à né pas manquer dans le Vieux Nice !

Restaurant vieux Nice
Excellent restaurant connu par presque tous les nicois qui quand ils le peuvent vont y manger pour retrouver une cuisine authentique et familiale. La salle est petite, les places libres sont rares et ce qui est génial c’est que vous déjeunez à coté d’inconnus et la rencontre avec les voisins fait aussi partie de l’ambiance de «Palmyre». Malheureusement cela fait plusieurs semaines que le rideau rouge est baissé et je né sais pas pourquoi.

Chez Palmyre le restaurant avec de la bonne cuisine nissart faite par grand-​mère.
Pas de menu, une heure fixe et peu de place. Et par contre je né sais pas si c’est ouvert le soir.
Sinon c’est vraiment très bon, le prix est imbattable.
Un restaurant d’un autre age ou l’on se sent bien.
