Bar Bejerano is a hidden gem, located on the high street of General Davila. Only the locals go there. I love this place because it is run by a family who is there every day and they really care about the food and drink they serve. They also have free pinchitos(small snacks) at most hours of the day. On cold days, they will offer you complimentary garlic soup or garbanzo beans. Like most bars in Cantabria, the bartenders aren’t overly friendly, but that doesn’t mean they won’t have a conversation with you. I love talking to them about different vermouths and wines and places to visit around Cantabria. They don’t have a traditional menu or serve entrees, so don’t expect more than a drink and a snack when you go. But, they make one of the best tortillas in Spain. Check ‘em out from 1 to 2PM when all the locals show up for a real slice of Cantabrian life!
