This place was awesome. It serves up hearty, stick-to-your-ribs veggie fare. The offerings are far from healthy and oh so satisfying. As a vegan, I have trouble finding savory, indulgent foods, so Soi Soi’s burgers and sandwiches are a godsend that really hit the spot. My wife and I discovered this on our penultimate day in Finland; if not for that, we would have been here every day of our week-long trip. We had the seitan kebab and jammin burger, both of which were indescribably delicious. In fact, neither of us could stop thinking about the meal for the rest of the night. Luckily, Soi Soi was on the way to the airport, so we stopped by the next morning for a second helping.

Be prepared to wait for your vegan fastfood for quite some time, even if the place isn’t full. But once you get it it’s really very good. The place is tiny(and situated on the same street a stone’s throw away from another great vegan fastfood place Just Vege), about 10 – 15 seats and the greasy smell is heavy indoors. But the food is not. It’s just lovely, fresh and flavourful. At least our choices were — tofu burger in oat bread and spicy tofu in pitabread. I loved the generous portion of sweetpotato fries, but I can easily see their rather sweet flavour could be a bit overwhelming for some. They should offer regular fries too. Apart from all the mouthwatering vegan and vegetarian dishes on the menu they have lovely organic drinks in the fridge. Alas no free wifi. But lots of good vegetarian magazines to read instead. And a kid friendly corner.

Super fast food végétarien. Ou végétarien rime avec goût. Et les frites aux patates douces sont vraiment à tomber. Très bon accueil. Pità avec tofu grillé, ananas, crudités et piment délicieuse. Un bon spot dans le quartier bobo

Soi Soi deserves 8 out of 5 stars. In my over 1000 reviews I don’t think I’ve ever said that about any place. I’m vegan when I want to be and vegetarian 99.999999% of the time(please stop calling yourself vegetarian if you eat fish regularly. That’s not vegetarian: that’s called eating fish). It is really freaking hard to find a good vegetarian/vegan restaurant in general. It is especially hard in Helsinki, the land of reindeer steaks and the occasional Bear on the menu. SoiSoi or Soi Soi(someone help me out here) or whatever it’s called(it could literally be called«craphole» and I would still eat here everyday) is outstanding veggie and vegan food served up in the best hole in the wall hipster dive whimsical San-Francisco-Tenderloin sort of place I miss so much. But it’s really really clean. I bet there aren’t even vermin running around in the back like all my favorite places in SF and NY. The food is great. It may not all be «healthy» as you will find a lot of fried food, oil, etc… you know, those things that make food taste delicious, but there are so many options and endless delights and treats. We tried the double cheeseburger with soy patties and smoked cheese and the tofu salad. The salad is more like a mound of every tasty food in the world with a side of vegan mayo aioli and some crack-riddled dressing that I can’t get enough of. The burger was huge and yummy. It came with lots of stuff on it. It was my husband’s so that disappeared fast. My salad at lunch actually carried me through a hot yoga class, a 10k run, and an evening with my child and I still wasn’t hungry for dinner. It’s just that solid. The sweet potato fries are apparently to die for and I am very excited to try the cashew cheesecake next time we’re there. Even if you like the dead animals on your plate(and believe me — .9% of the time I really do too), this is still a great place to go. The service is fast, efficient, and still friendly. These are happy hipsters serving up happy food in a happy space. Good vibes abound: even my maniacal toddler managed to nap through our whole meal. That’s unheard of. Perhaps this place has some magical healing powers as well as insanely good food. Enjoy!

Lovely little spot, with a communal feel, sharing tables etc. The menu has a lot of variety. Had the King Kong pita and it was delicious, spices were great, really tasty! Only complaint/recommendation is the end of the pita was really soggy, just a saucy bready mess. Look forward to going back to try the other things.

I was referred to SoiSoi by someone who loves in the neighborhood. The location was easy to find and the prices are good– especially for pricy Helsinki. The space is small and cozy– it’s got that mom n’ pop feel. I got the tofu burger on dark bread and the Belvoir ginger beer. The burger was quite messy to eat, but over all good. I wish there was a little less of the generic sweet chili sauce– it’s a great sandwich, but the sauce could be a little more creative. I really loved that it was on dark rye bread. The ginger beer was fantastic and oh-so-refreshing with that ginger bite. I’ll definitely keep Soi Soi in mind for the future! It’s a great option for vegetarians. Very curious about the sweet potato fries!!!

One of the best vegetarian restaurants in Helsinki. Very good quality fast food. Lots of variety. I recommend the dish«Aurinkoinen». They also have delicious sodas and juices.

Fairly new vegetarian place on vasaankatu. Only tried it last week. Had the missy burger and sweet potatoe fries. Great food! Delicious. Service = vegetarian which means it could be faster. They are clearly starting up, but it looks promising!
