Great pulled pork, perfect in my book! Coleslaw was extremely creamy, too creamy. Disappointed by the mac and cheese after reading the reviews, not much flavor and shells were super mushy :(Brisket was a bit on the dry side. Sweet tea was awesome.

Our family enjoys this place a lot. My favorite is the Brunswick stew, mac & cheese and the pulled pork. I also like the baked potato with the pulled pork in it. My kids love their chicken strips. Service is always great and they always are helpful. We frequent here about once a week. And the bathrooms have always been clean.

Excellent BBQ. Was in the area and stopped by for lunch. Ordered the Pork plate and yes, enjoying it all. Others in my group ordered the Brisket and they enjoyed it as well. Super sides with BBQ beans and Brunswick Stew. Self service on drinks and yes they have sweet tea. Will return next time I am in the area.

Simply perfect. Where do I start? The Mac & Cheese was unbelievable… Just order it. You’ll thank me later. Pulled pork and brisket tacos were to die for. I don’t often find myself in Zebulon, but I may start making detours just to enjoy this place again! If you find yourself going through Zebulon GA, this is a MUST stop.

The BBQ is the absolute BEST I’ve ever had! My husband and I always get 2 baskets of the BBQ tots appetizer(big portion); a basket full of crispy tots, topped with nacho cheese, pulled pork, sweet BBQ sauce, and their dry rub… YUM-O! Their grilled cheese sandwich is by far the best(Sorry, Mom.) and their ooey gooey mac n cheese perfection as it is topped with Cheese It’s, adding a nice crunch. Weirdly, their sweet tea is superior(I’m picky about my good, Southern sweet tea). Very nice & attentive owners!

We stopped here after a concert and let me tell you what it, it was the best barbecue joint I’ve ever been to. The staff was nice, the food came quick and my god it all tasted delicious. My girlfriend and I got 2 meals with 2 sides each and drinks for 20 bucks. Not the cheapest place in the world by God it’s worth every penny!

This place is prob a 3 ½ closer to 4 so ill round up. It’s a decent bbq place. Ill start with the good: The Mac n cheese should be called cheesy yummy goodness. The crunchy cheese cracker(chez-it’s perhaps) topping is genius. This cld be my fave Mac n cheese in ga. The buffalo chicken tacos were really tasty I know it’s not bbq but when it’s offered why not? The brisket was decent(it wld have been better if it was hot but it was warmish when we got it. I think it was ready before the chicken tacos) it had a nice bark & with the sweet bbq was a nice solid sandwich & taco. Now the not so good: The collards were bland. Like no seasoning out of a can(I’m sure they aren’t just that’s the soggy taste today) bland. The fish taco: tasted of the oil it was fried in & that’s all you cld taste. The grease just ruined everything about it. & left a horrible after taste. The smell: now here’s the thing it’s an old building with a really really cool look but it’s also a really awful old smell. It’s not the oink joints fault but you should be aware. I left there with a massive headache. So bottom line this place is def worth a try but ill be sticking to take out from now on.

Pork sandwich with mac and cheese. Need I say more? I will say this«best BBQ within an hour of Atlanta and a beautiful downtown location. Head to Zebulon NOW!»

This is my favorite BBQ place! I don’t live in Pike County but I contrive as many opportunities to eat at the Oink Joint as I can and am a regular. First of all, they are located on the downtown square in Zebulon, in a cool old building. They have recently expanded, so there is plenty of seating. Food: I enjoy almost everything on the menu, and they do have an extensive menu for a barbecue place. I HIGHLY recommend the Fatboy sandwich and the Cadillac chicken sandwich. They also have a loaded baked potato that has pulled pork, melty nacho cheese, and sour cream that is hearty and delicious. Another route would be the tacos. The basic pork and coleslaw taco is fabulous, or get it made with brisket and slaw, and try the Kogi taco with a korean sauce and fire and ice cucumbers! Honestly, the fried fish taco is solid as well, so getting a variety is the best idea. If you come on Friday or Saturday night, you can also get DELICIOUS ribs! As to the sides, the macaroni and cheese, made with shell pasta and crumbled cheez-it crackers on top, is one of the BEST things on the menu! Unless you dislike mac ‘n’ cheese, you should definitely order this. The potato salad is mild but fresh and with a pleasant flavor. The cole slaw is good, larger shreds of cabbage and not sweet. Baked beans are about what you would expect. The collard greens and brunswick stew are also not my favorites here but I am glad they are available. The main side item that disappoints me would be their french fries. Very blah and bland, plain boring frozen fries, so I never get them anymore. If they would start serving hand-cut fresh potato fries that would up their sides to the next level! Or even crinkle cut fries would be an improvement. So that is my one criticism. They have several old-fashioned bottled soft drinks available, and moon pies, and they have hand-dipped ice cream as well. You can get a root beer in a frosted glass, and make it a float! Really, you can’t go wrong by visiting the Oink Joint! The owner is an awesome lady and these people win awards for their BBQ for a reason! ENJOY

I don’t give very many 5 star reviews, but this place gets one. The décor when you walk in is good olé down home BBQ place with a modern look. Then there is the food. Three of us went and all got something different. We had the Cadillac Chicken sandwich, pulled pork sandwich and brisket sandwich. The meat on all three were really good. So tasty and moist. Best BBQ I have had in a long time. The sweet tea was good, but super sweet. Had to add a little unsweet to it for my taste. Staff was friendly and of course everyone else in the place spoke and was really nice, cause that’s how we do it here in the south.

I love the BBQ here. Today I tried something new, the Kogi Taco. It’s a pulled pork taco with a Korean flair, fire & ice cucumbers and a Korean BBQ sauce. Yum! I want a whole cup of those cucumbers! Service is awesome and the place is comfortable and quaint.

Amazing! This place is a must for anyone who thinks they love BBQ. It is out of the way for most, but well worth the trip. Get the pork and enjoy!

Great BBQ, I had the pork, and sides.(I ordered the slaw, they brought me beans, I tried a bite and kept my mouth shut about the mistake…) Two locals recommended this place with enthusiasm! They were right.

I saw all the 5 star reviews for this place and was somewhat in the neighborhood so decided to give it a try. I’m also a barbeque fan and am always looking for a good barbeque place. I would say based on eating lunch here once that this is really decent place and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I had a pulled pork plate with beans and collards as sides. The pork was tender and moist, and they serve a pretty good portion for the $ 8.50 price. The beans were excellent and were not too heavy on barbecue sauce, and were somewhat spicy hot, which gave a good contrast to the pork. The collards were just OK with nothing special about them. The server was very friendly and the service was fast and efficient, though it wasn’t too crowded when I was there. This is not a sit down restaurant; you order at a counter and your food is then delivered to you. They have standard fountain drinks but no alcoholic beverages. The décor on the interior walls is interesting. I would strongly recommend eating here if you’re in the area and want a quick barbeque meal. I’d like to come back and try some of the other items on their menu.

First visit to the Oink Joint. The pulled pork sandwich was great. I’m normally a fan of vinegar based sauces(and they do have one) but their sweet sauce was very good. The fries were just OK(kind of reminded me of the frozen ones from the grocery store) so I’ll probably try a different side next time. I would have only rated it 4 stars because of the fries but I think the name«Oink Joint» is worth at least one bonus star! Looking forward to another trip.

If the courthouse square location in the boondocks doesn’t charm you, then the cheese-it topped mac and cheese sure will! I’m grateful my friend and fellow Unilocaler Natalie S. recommended this spot for a dinner meet up when I was in the Macon area. It’s a little bit of a haul from, well, anywhere, but certainly a great meal if nearby and worth the drive if you’re a BBQ aficionado. That mac and cheese is a must order as far as I’m concerned. It’s creamy and cheesey with just the perfect bite still left to the noodles, and the cheese-it crusty topping is icing on the cake. For the entrée, I went with the fatboy sandwich, and oh em gee, y’all, it was flippin’ fantastic. They were out of the brisket, so I subbed pulled pork, and it’s a substitution I would probably request in the future. It’s a heart attack on bread, but jalapeño mayo, pimento cheese, and all the fixins never tasted so good. It was surprisingly packed for a Friday night in the bustling(not) town of Zebulon, so you may have to circle the square for street parking and wait for a moment for a table, but I guarantee it’s worth it. This Coca Cola girl was also happy that this order at the counter establishment had a self serve coke fountain with unlimited refills. Five stars all around.
