I must confess, I was a little worried. We were headed to another Unilocal recommended restaurant. We passed Brownies and my husband wanted to give it a try. I took a quick peek at the rating, saw it had 4 stars so we stopped. Then I read the reviews. All I could see was breakfast comments. We were stopping for lunch. Turns out I was worried for nothing. Lunch turned out great! Don’t stop if you are looking for fancy or upscale. This is a diner that has been in operation for 70 years(according to the window). My husband ordered the Big Beef sandwich & fries. It was wonderful! The bread was toasted & the Beef inside was flavorful. My husband isn’t much of a french fry guy, but he liked these. My Taco salad was very good. Lots of ground beef. The only bad thing was the shell. It was hard to bread apart — kinda«rubbery». We got the Coconut Cream Pie to split. Delicious! We didn’t leave a crumb. The service was great! We ate at upscale restaurants in San Diego that didn’t have service this good! Our iced tea dlasses were never allowed to go past half empty before someone tried to fill it. Beve was our waitress. She was great.

I would go to Yuma to visit my parents who always took me and my son to Brownies to eat. It was a nice place — my parents loved it — everyone knew them by name(Sam Pasich and Marjorie they owned the Bargin Box(the adult book store)). I just wanted to say how much I appreciated Brownies — when their business burned down leaving my parents with little income Brownies allowed my parents to come in for a meal a day… was the nicest thing ever. Now they are both gone but when I come into Yuma this summer with my son and grandson we will be coming to Brownies!

Great friendly quick service. Not expensive at all. However; the food is just okay. Nothing great about it. I ordered the Chicken fried steak. The eggs were not fresh out of a carton and the steak was rubbery. The hash browns thou… those were bomb! Crispy good just how I like them. Overall a decent place for breakfast.

This place use to be good year’s ago. Now the food is horrible, so is the service. A lot of nice places in Yuma to eat so best bet if to drive on by this place.

Classic breakfast diner feel. Please type of seating and service is quick. Voted Yuma’s best breakfast for many times over, beating out large chain restaurants. For a home style feel and to reminisce on simpler time in classic Yuma Brownies is a great option for breakfast.

The numerous 4 and 5 star reviews completely blow my mind. We came here due to the limited choices in Yuma and we were starving. After the 2.5 hr drive from San Diego, we had a few hours to kill before attending a wedding, and decided to stop for brunch. I ordered the biscuits and gravy… usually my favorite breakfast dish… with sausage links and over easy eggs. Eggs were good, as was the sausage. The biscuits and gravy were borderline inedible. Dry as tree bark biscuits with bland gravy. The biscuits must be made with some impermeable substance, and I absolutely could not get any moisture to these things no matter the amount of gravy I scooped up with my bite. Never again. Next time I stop in Yuma, I’ll just eat at the local Circle K.

Good, down to earth breakfast. Good ingredients prepared the way I liked. I’ll definitely be back! Friendly service, too. It’s nice to support a privately owned staple of Yuma.

This is a no frills, hole in the wall, traditional American breakfast place. Just a place to get some regular eggs, bacon, pancake, sausages, hash browns, etc. I’ve passed by this place many times and I really couldn’t even tell if this place was still in business or not since the outside looks so run down. The building and the«Brownie’s» sign makes it look like the place is abandoned or out of business, but don’t be fooled, it’s still up and running and it dishes out a good traditional breakfast too!

Brownie’s is located in Yuma on the I-8 that leads to San Diego. While eating here I felt a little bit like I stepped into the breakfast/café version of Cheers… where everyone knows each other and throws out jokes /friendly jabs from around the room. But not in a bad, exclusionary way. Everyone was nice, welcoming, and the waitresses were incredibly sweet. The coffee wasn’t too bad and the food is exactly as I would expect from a 1950s style diner that serves and all day stick-to-your-ribs kind of breakfast. Also, because Yuma is so close to the border, there were quite a few Mexican rice-beans-salsa-tortilla breakfast options available.

Great little spot with a home town feel. Stopped of the way to San Diego, like most Zonies this is the halfway point where we need a good leg stretch and breakfast/lunch break. Good selection of both, nice diner feel and great service. Will definitely come back here again!

Haven’t been here in at least a year so I took my bad review off. I hope the owner has bought better quality coffee.

The service is great. Staff is friendly. The food is normal diner food specializing in breakfast. If the old school diner ok to go in your work clothes type place suits you then you can’t go wrong with brownies. P. S. Sausage is great.

I had to visit Yuma for a wedding, small town not much to do and hardly any good restaurants here but this diner was a good find. The service was good and the fiid was even better.

Amazingly delicious! Very friendly staff, super nice and accommodating. Had breakfast for three: 2 adults and our 2 yr old toddler. We ALL devoured out breakfast! My corned beef hash was homemade, not the canned stuff, hubby’s chicken fried steak was okay and the baby ate just about every bite of her scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and hash browns. Hope to make it back again soon on our way to/from Tucson to San Diego :)

This sweet spot was a delight on the last day of our road trip to seven states from San Diego. French toast, egg, 2 bacon or sausage $ 4 for kiddos — makes perfect sense! 8 oz sirloin Steak, poached eggs, hashbrowns and toast $ 9 Kaman Sausage Breakfast my hubby LOVED! Simple food — nothing fancy but done right. Bacon crisp, steak cooked to my MR order and coffee hot. The place was packed on a Friday morning at 8 a.m. with waiting list. We’ll stop in again next time we head anywhere east of Yuma :)

This place is a Yuma breakfast staple. I have been numerous times. They have homemade corn beef hash. This time I tried the local Kaman sausage with eggs. It’s fantastic sausage it reminds me of homemade sausages in Europe. Hash browns are average. Service is always good. Parking is right on the side. If you want try something unique in Yuma go and get the sausage or the corn beef hash.
