Porky’s

the food made us sick. we went for dinner and got the king platter, they told us it came with 4 sides. they gave us free sodas since it was our first time and the service was great very friendly when we ordered. that is all the good I can say from them. the sides did not come with the meal they charged us for each of them. when we got the food home the chicken and pulled pork tasted rancid. it was all swimming in BBQ sauce I wonder if they were trying to cover up the taste. the ribs and tri-​tip tasted ok so that’s what we ate. today I believe that was bad as well, due to the nausea and our, how can I say this politely, lets just say we’re staying close to a bathroom. we called the Porky’s and told them about the food and our stomach issues and requested a refund. they told us we need to bring the food back to them so they to taste it for themselves, I feel this was particularly rude. they clamed that the spice was off but the food was ok. they refused to give us a full refund and only gave back $ 40 of the $ 100 spent. they also wanted us to sign a release stating the food was ok just the taste was questionable. we refused to sign that because we believe the food made us sick.

Slam dunk. This place is a traditionalists BBQ, all the food is not over seasoned it has a great flavor & texture like real BBQ should be. The chain «Dickies» is a poor excuse of BBQ, living in North Carolina gave me an extreme appreciation for great BBQ. Anyone can broil or smoke meat for 12 hours & dump cans of sauce over it, but marrying the right amount of natural flavorful foods with herbs/​spices is an art. It does take awhile to get food when busy, but worth the wait.

Overly friendly staff. Barbeque that looks better in the box than in your stomach. I wondered what the secret ingredient was to their barbeque sauce. Must’ve been laxatives. Smelled amazing. The gumbo with okra was pretty good. The corn bread was not as spectacular as I expected but as good as the picture made them look. They were okay. The peach cobbler was super sweet, even though I asked for no butter there it was.

Oh my Gosh… This place is to Bomb… I picked up The Sampler Platter. This place is Awesome. Chicken GREAT,
Tri-​Tip Great, Pulled Pork GREAT, Sausage GREAT, Ribs GREAT and the Pecan Pie… Num Num Num!!!
Everyone should stop buy this place…
Oh and the Sweet Tea is so good!!!

Went here while I was waitin to get insurance next door (thanks for the referral) I really liked this joint it was good the smell made me hungry. I had the rib sandwich it was tasty. I sure love BBQ, took me back to my Texan days. I’ll be back. I would highly recommend having some freshly squeeze lemonade. My mommà always said «can’t have BBQ without lemonade».
