Atmosphere is great, beer/drink list is okay, and food is underwhelming and disappointing. The hotdogs seem good but they’re clearly boiled. I mean, come one! You couldn’t at least throw it on the grill and mark it up? The toppings list is long and extensive. I love how many options there are but there are holes left by missing classics. The portions sizes were disappointing. I expected my dog to be overflowing with kraut and I doubt there was even half an ounce on there! Tots with mac&cheese and spaghettios? What mac&cheese and spaghettios? Luke warm toppings??? BLAH. Whoever came up with the spice rating is nuts. House mustard has 3 asterisks indicating spicy?! What a joke! Tasted like typical spicy brown mustard. Kimchi has 4 asterisks and my friend said there was no spice at all. I’ll try it again, but I doubt I’ll get a different result.

Suzies is an awesome place on Youngstown to go for a great atmosphere and food. I have been there plenty of times and my food has always been great. In the past there has been some issues with keeping all the toppings in stock, but this hasn’t been a problem in months! Live music or events are always going on there and the staff is great. Almost all the ingredients are local and they always have great beer on draft. It’s definitely a great place to check out!

Four bucks for a dog? In YOUNGSTOWN?!? And the Chicago dog is to a real Chicago dog what a Swanson TV dinner is to a real dinner. I truly hope they do well, but it won’t be in my dime.

A Fun environment, great drink options and unique condiment offerings make susie’s a great night out. A very eclectic crowd and friendly staff. Definately try the blueberry mustard or cilantro aioli and dont forget about the tots!

If you like hot dogs and somewhat odd toppings, this would be the place for you. It’s ok.

I thought the veggie dog was amazing; but I knock a star off because of the vegan toppings options. You have a veggie dog you might as well have a vegan chili option and vegan mac&cheese perhaps. Again, an amazing dog. Just wish I wasn’t as limited as I was The sauces are amazing as well, as I’m sure are also the regular toppings(my company enjoyed his dog very much as well)

Service was a little slow, and server was thrown off when I asked for water with my beer. They did not have my 1st beer choice, and did not have vanilla ice cream for some of their cocktails. They seemed to be out of a lot and it may have been due to the holidays. 9 pm band means the band starts to setup at 9, not play at 9. I had what is a coney dog when in Detroit area and German potato salad. I was very happy with my meal. My wife had a veggie dog and enjoyed it. My 2nd beer was a dark craft beer similar to Dragon’s Milk from New Holland Brewing Co. It was delicious. I will return to this restaurant again.

Suzie’s is an iconic landmark. Relatively new to Youngstown, it is something special and unique. Hot Dogs the way they should be, in a place that serves awesome micro brews.

This place is great. Coming back to Youngstown is always an adventure — continuously new places in the downtown area. Suzie’s was on my radar. After a YSU football game, my crew decided to try it. It was surprisingly pretty low key for a Saturday evening. We seated ourselves and were promptly greeted by our waiter. Our server was very attentive and helpful in our decisions. We checked out the menus for a while since there are a ton of options. The beer list is fantastic and they have an interesting list of cocktail concoctions. The hotdog menu was a little overwhelming with lots of topping options(including, but not limited to, crickets!). We ended up sticking with a couple signature dogs: one like a Chicago dog, one with pumpkin mustard. I also ordered a side of the hot potato salad. All were excellent! My only complaint is that service was a little slow paced with the limited number of customers. I guess it’s part of the«dining experience».

This place is amazing, if one finds themselves in Youngstown Ohio you’d be sadly remiss to pass up this gem. Feasting on an epicurean Vegan Hot Dog w/pear ginger chutney, Kimchee, Kokoboreggo sheep cheese, Jalapeño pickles, and cranberry ketchup. Pleasantly surprised in Youngstown. Btw, the freekin beer list is off the hook.

Had dinner there last night and it is a very cool atmosphere with friendly staff, but our hotdogs were cold and the beer was warm… Not to mention that we all ordered our drinks at the same time, two people got there’s rather quickly, but the rest of us waited another 20 min.

Finally got a chance to check out Suzie’s and thought it was a great addition to growing downtown. The atmosphere was very NYC meets Hipster with cool décor and acoustic music. I must have come at the right time because it was quiet and service was quick. Bartender was friendly and helpful. I got the veggie dog(my first ever) and it was deeeelicious. I had it on the new england bun with the beer kraut and house mustard and have been thinking of how I can get back to try another soon! I can see heading down with friends, date night with hubby or even an afternoon with the kids. I only wish there was a healthier side option :-)

–5 stars if I could! I took my order home because it still hadn’t arrived by the time everyone else at my table was done. Orders were brought out two at a time for a party of 15. I wouldn’t have minded if she brought my beer over right away but we waited 40 minutes and then my friend finally walked up and got them from the bartender. They were out of the majority of beers on their menu. There were maybe a dozen other customers there and they weren’t even eating. When I got home, the box was a hot dog with toppings strewn about the box. Although I marked tater tots right on my order slip, I wasn’t charged for them so I didn’t even bother asking and waiting for those. The other 14 ladies at my table had the same experience. No idea why this place isn’t out of business yet!

Love the atmosphere, brought life to downtown Youngstown! Drinks are awesome, plenty of variety and authentic in house brews. They also have a lot of fun things, every other Tuesday they have paintnites and ever wednesday they have karaōke, plus bands in the weekends. This place is really fun, love the staff, one of my favorite bars!

Wowie. This place is a trip. My boyfriend got the number 6 house dog which had a full strip of bacon on it. Yum. I got the number 11 which as it turns out comes with hot sauce and crickets. Not a typo… crickets. OK so I gave it a whirl. Turns out the hot sauce they used was a little too hot for my taste and I ate 3 bites. Still a great 3 bites. The hit dogs are local which is cool and I would say not your normal boiled in water type hot dog. They have an abundance of toppings so if you can’t pick a house dog just make your own. Beer collection is ample amazing service. Bartender was very friendly and funny. Not pricey… For lunch we got out for 35 bucks before tip… that’s for two of us plus a side and 3 drinks… really decent. Definitely a decent stop. Try it!

Food and topping options were great! Server was a little slow and unhelpful, probably due to the large party of 15+ ahead of us, but the bartender stepped up and assisted! We will be back for sure!

All I can say is I love this place, great food great people working here. This is a great place to come and listen to The Vinny band play. You have to try one of the house dogs, you wouldn’t think they would taste good but I loved #8

We popped in here while at the Burger, beer and beard festival. Despite a crazy number of customers, our server Matthew was super attentive and friendly. My dog was quite fabulous, which says a lot for a girl raised on the hot dog shoppe. ;) The tots were missing something and I regret not adding toppings. Next time, I’m adding something more. Beer selection is above average for the area and atmosphere was fun. Great meal for under $ 20. Thanks for adding this downtown!

First time here and I’ll definitely be back. You build your own hot dog by filling out the menu. There are 50(FIFTY!) topping choices for your dog. Then you choose your side — I highly recommend the warm potato salad. The dog and salad cane out in about 5 mins at lunchtime. I’m sure they’re busier in the evening, which reminds me they have a full bar with over 20 brews on tap. The place has a cool college/old city vibe to it. There’s a stage so I guess they’ve got bands coming in. Definitely worth the visit.
