Fillet mignon so tough you have to saw through it even with a steak knife. Chicken Chesapeake dry and tough even with crab imperial covering it. The side of twice baked potato was burnt until the top was blackened. The fresh vegetable side of broccoli and cauliflower more than likely was fresh last summer and lived the remainder of its life in a freezer. The side salad was a bunch of iceberg lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes and cucumber slices thrown on top. The raspberry vinaigrette tasted like it was from a bottle and generic at best. I would give one star, but the service was good. Living in York almost my whole life, I so wanted to like this local restaurant that I have driven by for years. Guess I’ll just continue to drive on by for many more.

One of my favorite local restaurants. Food is delicious. Servers are friendly. Love their burgers and battered fries and onion rings. Their mixed drinks are delicious. They have one of the best desserts ever – Kataifi – but it’s not always available because it sells out quickly when they make it. Owners are friendly and talk with everyone.

The best thing about this place is the service. We’ve been twice and had the same waitress. She is great! Some of the food is okay… some is not great. Examples: Crab cake = delicious, large, well cooked. The loaded cheese fries are wonderful. Broccoli side = terrible. It was a frozen side that was overcooked. In fact, all the sides I’ve had were pretty bad. The mac and cheese was okay, but it was definitely Velveeta. They have a pretty good beer list. It’s okay, but there are better places around.

One of my favorite local watering holes. Service is fast and friendly and food is always delicious! Full bar and craft beer. Taps could be a little more diverse and rotate more frequently but still a great dive bar!

The hours on Unilocal are not correct. They are open from 7am till 11 am for breakfast with a steady group of obvious regulars all greeted by name with their beverages brought to their table soon after they sat We waited for quite a while for our coffee and then for someone to take our order till the third waitress showed up at 8 when the place starting getting underway. Eggs were perfect as was toast and ham. Corned beef hash overdone on one side and cold on the other and potatoes underdone to the point where there was no brown to be seen on either of our plates. We’re doing a show at the fairgrounds but I’d not come back

Crab shell fragments are a no go, as are beef tips that are so full of gristle they are inedible. I heard very positive things about this restaurant, the food was just not what I had hoped for. Good service, good selection of beers.

Decent bar, with decent bar food. Friendly waitstaff. Outdoor seating available. Best décor in the place is in the restrooms!

A Monday evening for dinner. Server was great and very personable but service was very slow and there were only 5 other tables of 2. I ordered a chicken quesadilla which was terrible. So greasy that you couldn’t hold it to eat and had an abundance of red onions which over powered it. It’s the first time I was there since the changes were made and was very disappointed. Food was better when it was the old Reliance. I think I will pass in the future.

Great atmosphere, good food, and friendly wait staff. Service was very quick. The battered french fries were delicious! Great beers on draft. Highly recommend this restaurant if your looking for a quick and easy meal with family or friends, in a no fuss, no muss kind of place. We will definitely be going back.

A lot has changed at Reliance since my last review. There is now a lot of craft beers, a great variety on draft, bottles and even take-away. Although they no longer have breakfast or brunch, there is a full grill menu with a lot of daily specials for lunch and dinner. Between 5:30 — 6:30 there is a happy hour half price bar menu with a pretty good selection. There is also now a dart board and golden tee golf. They also have new hours, 11am-11pm for food and bar hours are until midnight or later!

The food was great! The breakfast burrito is huge and was delicious as well. A great family restaurant atmosphere with very friendly staff. Absolutely loved this place and the good that came with it! And it was good pricing!($ 8 for a burger with sides and $ 3.99 for the monstrous breakfast burrito! Overall great place and experience in York, PA

Met my family here today to celebrate my daughter’s 40th birthday. There was some confusion but the wait staff was very accommodating and we got seated before the birthday girl showed up. The food was very good and the prices very reasonable. Loved the gyro salad and will come again the next time we are in York.

My wife and I went here on an Wednesday evening for dinner. The food was good, but not remarkable. The smoking area is an enclosed patio to one side of the building. Each time the door opened the smoke poured into the dining room. Totally unacceptable; ruined the whole experience.

I have been dining at the Reliance for well over 40 years; lived 2 blocks away until I was 14! We hadn’t been there in a while so tonight my wife and I decided to drop in; glad we did! It had actually gotten better!!! As we walked in I saw an old friend from my youth. Apparently he and his family had been waiting for a table for an hour. The owner took notice and came over to apologize then bought them a drink; classy move!!! We saw a couple of bar seats open, which we prefer, so we sat down. Billy the bartender gave us a friendly greeting and offered us menus and drinks. We only recently have gotten into Long Trail beer and they had it, bottle and draught! The menu has a good variety though not overwhelming. We decided that since it was late we’d go light, salads and an appy. We ordered the fried shrimp special off the bar menu to start. My wife had the Pittsburgh Steak Salad and I had the Southwestern Chicken Tips Salad. Both were made with fresh Romaine as well as lots of awesome veggies and LOADED with meat! Hers had slices of Filet Mignon and mine had big chunks of taco seasoned white meat chicken. We thoroughly enjoyed this light repast and look forward to future visits very soon. Great food, great service and very fair prices! Can’t beat it!

We stopped for a late breakfast, which the waitress said they served until Noon, and I can recommend the Greek 3-egg omelet. Feta cheese, gyro meat, tomatoes, plus hash browns and toast. It was generous and good and inexpensive. What’s not to like about that?

Let’s start by saying they give the personal touch to dining! We had friends from antique show take us to the restaurant. We ordered lumpo crab cakes which were great by my taste and the others at the table thought the same. There sweet mustard dressing is outstanding on the crisp salad. The twice baked potato was also delicious. Recommend reliance for a nice dining out experience.

This review is for lunch! Standard lunch fare, but good. I had the Italian Chicken Steak Sandwich, it was good but nothing crazy. Shredded chicken with cheese wiz and some tomatoes. Thought the menu said it came with lettuce, but didn’t see any on the sandwich itself. Came with a side of crispy fries which were good. Prices were very reasonable 4.99 on special. My girlfriend had the Reliance Wrap, she enjoyed it. I had a bite of the wrap – fried chicken, veggies, Reliance Sauce which is zesty. Came with a side of fries for 6.99. The waitress was very accommodating and pleasant! Filled up our waters often and even replaced the side of crispy fries my girlfriend didn’t like for regular fries at no cost! Would give it a 3.5, and probably would revise up after trying breakfast here which is what we really wanted — but they only have a half day breakfast menu :(

I am a huge fan of breakfast eaten out. While I prefer a venue that offers all hours breakfast I arrived at 11am and made it just in time to order from the Breakfast Menu. The atmosphere, wait staff, and décor were pleasing. I am interested in finding out how the meals later in the day are.

Definitely a fan of their breakfast! Yum! They serve it until 11am, which is not my preference, as I have a tendency to be off to a late start! But about the place, there’s a bar in the front and a clean, simple but fairly spacious dining room past the bar. The staff is friendly, the service is good! They have very inexpensive breakfasts that are super tasty! They even had my favorite, scrapple! This place seems to be of the group that likes to deep fry the scrapple, to which I prefer pan frying… but their hash browns more than make up for that short coming! The potatoes are sliced thinly but are nice and tender with the top and bottom layers having nice touches of golden brown. I’m not sure how they get the middle layers of sliced potatoes so tender and almost buttery in flavor. This place is way cheaper than Round the Clock, but the downfall is that it only serves breakfast til 11am. *sigh* But I still love this joint for when I can get out of bed at 10am! (I’m also told that they have pretty decent grits! I’m not a grit eater… but fyi.)
