Yorba Linda Optometry and Beyond

Excellent experience with my exam and they helped me find a great pair of new glasses that was very affordable. Dr Marran was great!

Only because 0 is not an option. Came here because it was close by. For six years I have worn glasses with a small RX. I have seen about 4 different doctors at LensCrafters Bella Terra and others in Garden Grove. They all advised glasses especially since I’m on computers all day. I specifically told Dr Marran at Yorba Linda optometry that I broke my current glasses and needed new ones. Idk if it’s because they weren’t covered by my insurance or what her deal was but she would not write me an RX and the only possible solution she insisted on was some sort of dry eye therapy and treatment. One for about $ 130.00 and the other for $ 850.00. I had to go back to LensCrafters, pay for my exam since I used my insurance allowance with Dr. Marran. I would never go back here again and I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.

Please excuse the long review, but I feel compelled to share.
I’m a speech pathologist who has been working on learning issues with my own son since he was very young. He struggled with the early skills like completing simple puzzles, coloring, bouncing a ball, and even running. When he started school, reading and writing was torture and he quickly fell behind. Previous evaluations by an optometrist and a pediatric ophthalmologist indicated his vision was fine. We were considering an assessment for a learning disability when our Occupational Therapist suggested we see a Developmental Optometrist. That’s when life changed for us. I did my research and we decided on Dr. Marran with Yorba Linda Optometry and Beyond. It was easy to get an appointment, she took a thorough case history and completed an evaluation for my son over several sessions. Dr. Marran worked through his less than attentive behavior as any pro would. She provided us with a report and explained the results. Our son has now been doing vision therapy for about four months and the growth is just awesome! He now runs without falling, can bounce a ball, and is starting to play ball activities with friends at recess. His reading and writing is just shy of grade level, and he has improved his printing skills and neatness. We still offer modifications for slightly larger print and additional time for assignments, but he is gaining ground! The other day my son commented that he could see the mountains, and asked, «Mom, I see two mountains over there, have those always been there?» (He was looking at the San Gabriel Mountains– yes, those have always been there but he had never seen/​noticed them!) Vision therapy is a commitment and you will have homework but let me tell you, I can’t put a price on the smile I now see on my son’s face when he opens a book to read for pleasure. We aren’t done yet but I am beyond grateful for his progress thus far. Dr. Marran is a truly knowledgeable, seasoned, caring professional and I’m really happy we found her.

A GREAT experience. My husband went in for a routine eye exam, and ended up SO thrilled with the staff, doctor and quality of service, that we had our school aged children checked, and they to were also well cared for. We found out some REALLY important facts about our kids reading troubles, and how hard thier eyes were working to focus. Our daughter has been taking the eye therapy for the last few weeks, and is already seeing results in her ability to read easier! Its a MUST do as a parent! Thank you to the knowledgeable doctor and staff!

Excellent optometrist. Very thorough and cares about each patient. Concentrates more on the welfare of the patient than selling frames. Has an excellent background in optometry and vision therapy. Dr Marran shows so much enthusiasm about what she does which makes you feel excited about your eye health.

If you want an optometrist who cares more about your eye health then selling you an expensive pair of glasses and lenses, then look no further. Don’t get me wrong, if you want high end frames they have those too. I have to commend Dr. Marren, her friendly staff, Trinh and Tawnya. They really are a cut above and Beyond all others.
