Sai Sushi

Great local sushi spot. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The fish was very fresh and the menu was definitely a unique array of selection. Everyone that came in knew Sai and raved about the quality of his dishes and that truly speaks for itself.

Very good, very authentic sushi, and Sai is awesome! We’ve been a loyal customer of Sai since he was a chef at Ginzaya. He KNOWS how to pick the best quality fish. He is a true sushi chef.
We drive all the way up from Laguna, passing by 150 other sushi restaurants to go to here.
Get the spicy salmon. NOBODY else makes it like Sai does. It will change your sushi life.
If you are on the fence, just try it. It is worth the money for sure. And if you talk to Sai for 5 minutes, you will see why this place is the best.

The food is good. We had the tiger roll and the holy moly roll. The sauce used was also tasty. It’s nice to have a good sushi restaurant nearby. My only issue was how long it took to get the food. I think they are still trying to work out the glitches and get into a rhythm of how to be more efficient and quick with service. Definitely worth trying and we will be back.
Update: Love this place! We order our food «to-​go» from here every week. Food is always delicious and pick up time is quick. So happy to have such a delicious sushi restaurant close by!

Stood there for 8 – 10 min waiting to for someone to acknowledge me so I can place a to go order. Never got to order anything. Don’t think we will be back.

This place is pretty amazing and he owner, Sai is the entertainment of the place. The food is great and everyone seems to know everyone. Tip: sit at the bar.

Absolutely amazing! Chef Sai is a master of the art of sushi and will leave you beyond satisfied! He is very nice and social! The atmosphere in the restaurant is very warm and welcoming!
Here’s what we ordered:
Salmon Nigiri– Very fresh and my favorite part of the meal. Ask for ponzu sauce on it.
Spicy Tuna Roll– Delicious. The rice was cooked to perfection in everything that we ate!
Philadelphia Roll– Amazing. The cream cheese adds a nice creamy texture to the roll. The salmon in the roll was very fresh.
Crunchy Shrimp Roll– The shrimp tempura and crunchy flakes elevate this roll and make it a great classic!

So I tried the Poke Bowl and it was good, but the portions were tiny. I don’t know what size scooper they used for the fish, but for 3 scoops, it didn’t seem like there was a whole lot of fish in my bowl in comparison to Pokenometry. I was hoping it would be good so I didn’t have to drive to Anaheim, guess the drive is worth it. I paid $ 11.85 including tax for a large Poke Bowl to-​go and I am still hungry. The strange thing is; I looked at the bowl a customer just received while I was ordering, and the portion he received didn’t like it would fit in the container my bowl came in. It took my literally 3 minutes to eat my entire bowl, it was that small. I am sitting here hungry and feeling as if I was just ripped off. :(

SUPER nice people and the food is great. Try the spicy chicken, Melt in Your Mouth and Tempura. I’m sure everything is awesome though!

So glad to see Sai Sushi open and doing well. The sushi is always fresh and Sai is very creative with what he makes. Just ask him to surprise you and he won’t disappoint. My favorites are the Poki Bowl, spicy albacore hand roll and the heart attack.

DISAPPOINTING CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Convinced my husband to try this place because I like supporting local businesses. But our experience was upsetting and my husband doesn’t want to come back.
They forgot my husband’s food! Everyone, including me, got served except for him. The sushi chefs were yelling out orders left and right, laughing and chatting with customers and they forgot about us. Our server had 0 customer service. Didnt say hi or make small talk (no biggie) But after she got our order and gave my food (she almost gave my food to another table btw), she NEVER came back to check on us or else she would’ve known that we are missing an order. 20 mins passed and I got her attention. She said «oh they are making it». But no, the chef forgot or maybe she forgot. I saw her show our ticket to the chef then he looked at me and started making it O_​o.
It’s upsetting because how could they forget? The place is small. It was some what busy, but there were only 3 families and 3 couples including us. My husband’s simple order were California Rolls, 8 pieces of Sushi and 6 pieces of Sashimi. Like what I said the chefs were talking and laughing with people asking them hows the food and etc except for us. We felt ignored.
On the other hand, they did apologize. The chef kept looking at me and yelled «sorry for waiting» a few times and a different server gave my husband a complimentary small beer and said «thank you for waiting». Siigghh… They tried, but the whole thing was annoying. We wanted to order more food and booze, but we were over it.
BTW, food was very good. It was clean, fresh and I appreciated the large pieces of fish. Their prices are affordable for Yorba Linda, BUT THEY REALLY NEED TO WORK ON CUSTOMER SERVICE and ORGANIZATION.
On the bright side, it is leap year, so I guess this day shouldn’t matter ^_^.

Sai is the best! Fantastic new location, and same great sushi! The service is top notch; attentive, and friendly as if they’ve known you for years. A must if you’re in the mood for some great sushi and great service!

This place is a must try the quality and freshness of the fish is untouchable by any other local sushi spot… sai’s special rolls are to die for all of them very unique and none of them have rice which is perfect if ur trying to cut those carbs at night… Sai is super friendly and is a master at his craft… only sushi spot id go to in the OC! keep up the good work!

Very impressed by this sushi spot. I live in New York, but when I visit Orange County this is the only sushi spot I’d take my friends and family.
Master Sai is an expert at his craft. Easily the best sushi place in Yorba Linda. Definitely will go there again when I’m back in the area :)

Among the best authentic sushi restaurants in Orange County with something on the menu for everyone’s palette in a casual setting. I came across this place while visiting friends in the area and went back ²⁄₃ nights I was in California, the food was just too good and fresh.
If you’re looking for house specialties, I recommend ordering the Yorba Linda Roll and the Sai Burger. The sashimi is amazing and brought me right back to time I spent in Japan.
Will definitely be back!

Sai Sushi is the best! We fell in love with Sai years ago. I love his new place! Fresh fish, and fun environment. Sai Sushi is a must!

We tried to eat there tonight. But the host did not acknowledge us. The place is a mess we wrong orders coming out and we could not get a seat. Oh well they just lost $ 150 from us.

I’ve been to many sushi places around Orange County. Sometimes you walk in the door, you sit down, and you think you’ve seen it all. Most sushi restaurants sort of «blend-​in» together after a while. Most tend to be forgotten because there just isn’t something special about them that strikes a chord…
Sai Sushi will change that.
The best aspects of a sushi restaurant are the quality of the ingredients and the professionalism and experience of the Chef’s who prepare the ingredients. With that, everything else falls into place.
Customer service is ideal here at Sai Sushi. It’s very welcoming and personable. If you’re looking for a place to jump in and out of, especially when it’s busy, go through a drive thru for a quick fix to satisfy your appetite. This restaurant is meant to be experienced through all of your senses. And it is certainly meant to be enjoyed with the company of others. But don’t let that keep you from going alone, because even without friends to tag along, you’re always guaranteed to make a friend with Master Chef Sai, his fellow sous chefs, waiters, and the rest of the staff here at Sai Sushi.
The décor inside is well kept and is a breath of fresh air. The bathroom, for instance, is a perfect example of how one may know exactly how clean a restaurant is, and how clean those hands are of those who are serving you. With that, please know that Sai Sushi is a perfect place to allow you to relax and feel at ease, knowing that if you sit at a clean table and at a restaurant with a clean bathroom… the food served at that table is also always prepared with clean hands and with the freshest ingredients.
Do this business a favor and give them your time. I promise you. they won’t let you down. Sai Sushi is now the Best sushi place in Yorba Linda. So, enjoy! :)
