Food is good, especially the cowboy steak. NOT the place to go to during restaurant week, as the food lacks when this place is really busy. I have to agree with other reviewers that the upholstery needs an upgrade as the chairs look filthy. They also need to power hose the bird shit off of the windows. Not an appetizing site! But overall, the food is good!

Made a reservation for 3 via OpenTable in honor of my mother’s 73rd birthday. We were seated immediately at a table with lovely views, and at the end of the meal they served her a little dessert with a candle and«Happy Birthday» in chocolate fudge script on the plate. Service was absolutely lovely: attentive, kind, extremely friendly. The food was good but not off-the-charts: one salad was over-dressed, the duck breast was a little fatty, but for a special-occasion meal outside NYC, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Great food and ambience! However, for such an upscale venue, the wait staff is not very well trained. We had to keep asking for bread and my husband was served the wrong meal. I have eaten at the Xaviar’s in Rockland County, and the service was amazing! Good job Xaviar’s in Yonkers, but if you want to improve and keep up, better training is needed for your wait staff! I would go back to this venue, but would not pay full price unless they get a fully trained staff! Many compliments to the chef!

My husband treated me to X20 for my 30th birthday and I have to say it was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the ambiance and scenery was beautiful and the staff was attentive and delightful. The seafood crêpe and skate fish dish was amazing! Also the waiter brought out two desserts one for my birthday celebration and the second for the news of expecting our first child. We mentioned it once to the wait staff in passing and the fact they went above and beyond really touched us. We also had mini photo shoot outside since one of the wait staff offered to take them for us since he saw us struggling taking pictures inside. I definitely recommend this place.

Great place for Brunch. $ 45 per person. The food was delicious. Appetizer, main course and dessert were all very tasty. Would go back.

My boyfriend had made reservations on a Saturday for dinner and we were attended to and seated really quickly. We were seated upstairs which seemed to me much quieter in comparison to downstairs and had such a nice view. Also our server(James I believe) was so sweet and very patient with us. The food was very delicious. At the end my boyfriend got some coffee and I had some dessert. Our server came out with my plate with a little candle on it and with Happy Anniversary written in caramel(I think) on the plate and also an additional dessert(for free) for my boyfriend!!! It was so sweet and thoughtful, I teared up. Thank you so much for making our anniversary so special!

Built entirely over the Hudson River on stilts and pilings, Xaviars on the Hudson is a trip. Not our first visit there but each time we go its the same classy venue with fantastic views of Manhattan and of course the beautiful Hudson. I feel this location is better than Piermont across the river in both food and location. We were there to celebrate two Anniverseries in a royal fashion. The servers were friendly, explaining the specials and making sure we had everything we needed, including full water glasses. We started with cocktails and ordered our Appys; Octopus Salad, Mango Salad and Caesars Salad. all very good but the Caesar could have used some more dressing… rather dry. For Entres we ordered; Soft Shell Crab Special, Duck Breast and a couple of Loins of Lamb. All were delicious and had nice presentation. For dessert we ordered a Napoleon with a name I still dont understand(Crème Snita) with 4 forks… Well, as it was our Anniversary celebration they surprised us with additional deserts gratis with candles and Happy Anniversery written in chocolate on the plates. We all enjoyed the celebration… the food and service were excellent and we of course will look forward to returning.

Came here for a family birthday dinner and had the best experience. Ordered the braised short rib $ 30, awesome textures. Tender nicely seasoned beef with a contrasting crunch. Also ordered the grilled wild salmon $ 30. Fresh filet cooked perfectly medium rare plus. The dessert was amazing. I ordered the Napoleon. Beautiful waterfront view and exceptional service made it a 5 star experience. Coming back to try their brunch or lunch! They have valet parking and there are a few metered spots right out front.

My fiancé had wanted to come here the moment we moved to Yonkers. We went for her birthday and I felt like I was the one who got treated. Exceptional is the only word that comes to mind. Exceptional view. Exceptional service. Exceptional food. The staff is beyond attentive and informative. The steak for two is amazing. I wish I could give them a even higher rating. They deserve it.

Wow! I was skeptical about going to Yonkers for expensive food, but X20 was a great experience. We both ordered their evening’s special and we were delighted by all. Food, service and surroundings are all tops in my book. It is now one of my favorites.

Beautiful location and parking was easy… This is just about the best part. Though the service was pretty good, the food just wasn’t enjoyable. I had the scallops and they were just ok– nothing to rave about. I guess I had higher expectations for this place being that they have such high ratings. This place is quite pricey and I am ok with paying– but not when quality does not meet the price tag!

I cannot say enough great things about x20. I had dinner during Restaurant Week and celebrated my anniversary. The staff was on point and someone always had a watchful eye on us without being overbearing. They also made us feel so special and repeatedly wished us a happy anniversary. We loved every single dish. Lastly, the interior design is beautiful and refined. I will absolutely be returning again. Also note, there is valet not part of the restaurant but they will validate.

This restaurant is the ultimate dining experience. From its senic locale, to the perfectly prepared food, that every bite you can savor, the service and attention you receive is truly an experience. Special mention to the bartenders Ryan and James who not only master their craft, but remember their customers preferences upon seeing them. A dining experience you must try at least once!

Good food, great service and even better views of the Hudson! Xaviars on the Hudson absolutely exemplifies the top of the(excuse my pun) food chain in overall dining experience, without the typical formal wear of fine dining restaurants. My girlfriend and I came here on a Saturday evening date night courtesy of a Groupon deal. It’s to my great surprise that such fine dining experiences can be found on Groupon(along with X20’s more prominent sister restaurant Xaviars at Piermont). I can go on and on and on about the overall experience, but I’ll break it down for ya’ll here. We arrived for our 6:30pm dinner and, although it was a bit nippy outside, the area was gorgeous. It was perfectly located right on the Hudson. Some folks valet parked, but we decided to park on the street as the meter rules were only in effect until 8pm so we had to pay for 1.5 hours and then the rest of the night was free. If you decide to park on the street, make sure to bring quarters as the meters only accept coins! We lucked out as I always have a canister of quarters in my car. When we arrived, the restaurant was occupied by only a few parties, but as the night wore on, the restaurant filled to complete capacity! From the get go, the service was EXCELLENT! The staff was a bit younger than expected, but nevertheless they were well-trained and nothing short of spectacular! The entire restaurant is surrounded by floor to ceiling glass windows, so the view was awesome, despite it being pitch dark outside. From our seats, we could see the Empire State Building. I could have only imagined what the views are during the daytime. As for the the food, we were not limited to anything for the Groupon deal, which was nice to hear, so the entire menu was available to us including daily specials! Groupon for the win! As for the food, here’s what we ordered and our thoughts: SEAFOODCREPE LOBSTER, SHRIMP, SCALLOP&CRAB MASCARPONE&SAUCEAMERICAN Shrimp, scallop, crab meat all combined into a crêpe?! Are you kidding me? We couldn’t get enough of this dish here. The dish was fairly sized for an appetizer, so I can’t complain about that, and the seafood inside was very fresh. It was definitely interesting to see all of it in a crêpe, which was cooked very well. CARNAROLIRISOTTOWILDMUSHROOMSANDREDWINESYRUP There were 2 elements I was a bit disappointed about. One, it was too thick for my liking and, two, it was lacking flavor. It was an interesting concept with the red wine syrup, but I’m not sure what it did for the dish. SALMONSASHIMIAPPETIZERSPECIAL The sashimi could not have been any fresher! The appetizer was served in 5 slices and it was nicely decorated, as expected. There was not much to it, in terms of flashiness or flavor, but it was some ridiculously delicious sashmi! LONGISLANDDUCKBREASTWITHTOGARASHI SUSHIFRIEDRICEWITHCONFITLEG, SNOWPEAS, PEPPERS&SHITAKEMUSHROOM Not only was the duck tender, juicy and extremely tasty, but we were shocked at how big the serving size was. The dish came out with 8 largely sliced pieces! In addition, there was a side of sushi fried rice. We weren’t sure why they called it sushi fried rice as it tasted nothing like sushi, nor did it possess any components of sushi. It did taste like fried rice though, albeit semi-poorly made fried rice. Having eaten a lot of fried rice in our day, we might’ve been a bit harsher than most. LAMBSPECIALENTRÉE I loved the side of asparagus and mac and cheese, but I wasn’t 100% on board with the lamb. First, the lamb was sliced into 4 small pieces. I was expecting some type of lamb shank or huge piece of meat, but when I saw the small serving size, I have to admit I was disappointed. The lamb’s texture was also a bit chewy for me. The brown sauce on the plate was absolutely needed for it. Even though the mac and cheese was good, we were a bit perturbed as to its inclusion because it didn’t feel like it fit on the plate. ALSATIANCHEESECAKEWITHRIESLING CHOCOLATESHORTBREAD&FROZENSTRAWBERRYYOGURT The cheesecake with the strawberry yogurt was excellent! This was one of those teaser plates where we couldn’t stop eating it. The cheesecake was shaped like a square with a scoop of ice cream on top. With each scoop of ice cream and cheesecake, it became more and more addictive! BANANABREADPUDDINGSPECIAL Once again, I went off menu and went with the special dessert. The banana bread pudding was soft, sweet and really good. I can’t say I was blown away by the pudding, but the elements of a good banana bread pudding were all there. Don’t get my review of it wrong, because it was still good and well worth getting if you love banana bread pudding. There was no doubt there were a few food hiccups, but they weren’t catastrophic in any way. The menu was very large too, surprisingly, for such a restaurant. As stated earlier, the service was excellent all night! Would I give Xaviars on the Hudson another shot or recommend it others? Absolutely!

This restaurant is notable for its gorgeous location right on the Hudson and eye pleasing interior décor, but comes up short with the food and the service. We came here for Sunday brunch. The meal started out well with the announcement that we would have unlimited prosecco with mixers of blackberry, orange and peach flavors. The number of restaurants with a bottomless boozy brunch has gone down over the past few years, so this was a pleasant surprise. For my meal, I chose the black truffle risotto to start(delicious and creamy), the crab poached eggs(rather lackluster) as my entrée, and the rice pudding for dessert(too sweet for my taste). Other complimentary hors d’oeuvres were fried tuna roll(strange tasting), coconut shrimp(not bad), mushroom ravioli(tasty but forgettable) and lamb chops(nicely cooked to a pinkish color and tender). However, I was most impressed with the pumpkin bread they gave out at the beginning of the meal. The service we received was somewhat snooty, overbearing and inattentive depending on the multiple staff we interacted with. The bread servers would ask us too many times whether we wanted bread. The lamb chop server actually got the sauce sprayed onto my cashmere sweater… Our main waiter forgot to bring a coffee cup and also handed us the wrong check at first. For such a classy looking restaurant, I would expect better service. However, the one thing that was filled quite frequently were our prosecco glasses!

We came here for dinner on Valentine’s Day 2016. It was great! We arrived as scheduled with our reservation, and were seated upstairs. The view of the city was beautiful. The décor and ambiance of the room was very calm and comforting. There was a fixed menu for Valentine’s Day. The steak was amazing! And at the end of our meal, they gave my boyfriend the check, and gave me a rose. I know I’m a little late with the review but I just wanted to say that I very much enjoyed our dinner here and will definitely return. The service was very accommodating and professional. The food was decadent and served in fair rations. Overall great experience.

Last Sunday, my boyfriend and I went to Xaviars on the Hudson. We went with another couple to take advantage of Restaurant week. We are sure glad we did. We had a pretty good experience. The ambiance of the place is sophisticated with a stunning view of the GW bridge. It was lit up the night we went so the view really was spectacular. We were initially walked over to a table that was pretty close to the kitchen. We let the hostess know and she quickly walked us over to a different table. The restaurant was packed so I was gladly that she could quickly make the shift. We were sat and about immediately offered water and some bread. Always a lovely start. We were all thoroughly impressed with the Restaurant week menu. We’ve been to some places that really have a limited offering not really making the experience work it… but not Xaviars. We all had trouble deciding what to order. We eventually got it down! The table started with two truffle risottos(super yum and creamy!), one chicken liver plate(smooooth chicken liver) and the tuna tartare(yummy!) We all enjoyed our first course. Next for entrees there were two steak dinners, one order of fish and lastly the chicken. All the entrees were accompanied with delicious sides. For dessert carrot cake, an apple pie something and chocolate mousse. All again very tasty. The tasty food along with the view and the attentive service made the night a successful one. We were never rushed or over approached by the staff… even when they started to clean out some of the tables around us. They let us carry on in conversation, only interrupting to refill water/drinks. I was happy with that. I would definitely go again. I may wait until next restaurant week or a special occassion as this place is not inexpensive. But I think dfinitely worth it when wanting to do a little extra on a dinner out.

Excellent dinner probably the best experience I’ve had from Xaviars. The sashimi special was so fresh with slices of pickles and pickle juice to compliment the taste of the fish. My husband has the foie gras and it’s never a disappointment. For entrees I had the duck that’s cooked in perfection; crispy skin and red inside. Easy to chew and very tasty risotto. Husband had the Berkshire pork chop which is just as good as the duck. For dessert we had the meringue and Oreo, Oreo may be the let down but I am still giving this place a solid 5 star.

My lovely and I arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday evening. The reception staff greeted us warmly and we were seated promptly. Our waiter was courteous and attentive and we were very pleased with the service. The view of the New York City skyline was amazing. The octopus and foie gras appetizers were the best I’ve had. The roasted quail and skirt steak were perfectly cooked and sauced. The portions were more than adequate, especially for a gourmet restaurant. We were too full for dessert but the cappuccino was fine. I organize dinners for a restaurant group on Long Island and would not give the five stars lightly but Xaviers would be on the short list of the best restaurants if it was on Long Island so it deserves the top rating.
