I have tried every Indian place within delivery distance and this is — by far — the best of them. Take the owner’s recommendations, he knows what they do well. I agree that the lighting inside is a little bright — but they are so nice and the food is really good!

Not sure why this place is highly rated. We bought a groupon and went on a Saturday night around 8pm with a reservation. There are less than 10 tables here, but they sat us within a few minutes. We waited about 15 minutes before we flagged the hostess down telling her we were ready to order. She didn’t really speak much and I’m assuming went and told the one waiter that we were ready. Another 10 minutes went by and then he came over. We almost left, and we saw another couple leave because the service is so slow. We finally ordered, and he told us we needed more than 2 entrees and 2 orders of bread for the groupon-saying we needed an appetizer. It didn’t say that anywhere on the groupon. Anyway, the chicken 65 appetizer was not very good. It looks good and tasty but it was kind of bland. The main dishes were pretty good, nothing epic as the other reviews made it seem. I’ve had better at many other places. We were there for 2 hours from start to finish, which we didn’t plan on to just have dinner with no alcohol. They don’t sell alcohol and we didn’t know or else we would have brought a bottle with us. The price wasn’t so bad with a groupon though, but the service was sooooo slow and the food was just ok. I wouldn’t go back here.

I was nervous to try this place at first, but boy am I glad that I stopped by! From the outside, the place looks like nothing special, and when I walked in the restaurant was small, empty and quiet(no music playing at all). However, the(manager? owner?) was very friendly while I waited. This place has a great variety of Indian foods, and the menu is easy to read(sometimes Indian menus can be overwhelming and confusing). Our server, who I believe was the owner/manager, was very nice and answered all our questions. He was very accommodating to my request of limiting the«heaviness» of my meal by offering to not add any cream to the dish. I had the seafood soup which was incredibly spicy and absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend! For my main dish, I believe I had the Jhinga Masala, a «medium» spiced shrimp dish. It was pretty mild compared to the soup but still full of flavour and delicious! I wasn’t planning on having dessert but when we received halwa on the house, I had to try it! Really great halwa, and the pistachio kulfi was delicious, although I found the heart-shaped sprinkles a little tacky/out of place. The best part of this meal is the chai tea. It is deliciously creamy and the spices make it taste a little sweet although there is no sugar added. Our server very kindly explained exactly how the tea is made, but I don’t think I could ever make it as great as they did! Our server says that it had been pretty slow, so I’m not sure what the restaurant is like during the busier hours. They were receiving a lot of delivery and pick-up orders so business seems to be going well. I did like the small, cozy atmosphere and the bright decorations. This is one of the best indian restaurants I’ve been to in the area, and I’m excited to return and try more!

Food was horrible! I am Indian and have eaten good Indian food before, this was just really bad! I ordered calamari, which was tasteless, not crunchy at all like the description and had zero flavor not even salt. Chicken lollipop was also disgusting I couldn’t even eat it. The chicken wasn’t fresh and had a horrible after taste. Chicken Biriyani was the worst I ever had. They put dried chicken pieces in fried rice. It didn’t have any flavor or spices, it seemed like they just stuck a few pieces of chicken into plain rice. Lastly the chole. This was the only dish I could stomach but even that was not great. The sauce was on the sweeter side and poori was hard as a rock. A waste of $ 65, don’t waste your time if you are looking for good Indian food! 90% of my order ended up in the trash. So disappointed!

Wonderful and authentic Indian food in a cozy, albeit too well lit atmosphere. The two owners also serve and cook and are dedicated to ensuring that their diners are satisfied. Excellent experience.

We visited this restaurant because it had 4.5 stars but we were disappointed and most probably we won’t be back again. Small place that can accommodate 20 – 25 ppl, street side parking. Ambiance is not great nor too bad. South Indian food was good but many items were extremely oily. I have eaten Indian food all my life and I know it is sometimes oily but this is extremely oily. I am not a doctor but I wouldn’t be surprised if it causes instant cholesterol. Service was very slow with just one server trying to manage 5 tables. We wanted tissues and we had to literally get up and help ourselves. We ordered couple of items out of which for 2 items they said it has gone stale so they couldn’t give it to us. Nice of them to tell us but new restaurant should be striving harder on Saturday night. Chilli panner and dosas were good but they need to hire more servers and make less oily food.

The service is great and the food is excellent. If you get the groupon deal do it before you go in and call to reserve just in case. It was a great deal for the tasty food.

This place has some of the most flavorful Indian food I have had in a while and I usually don’t say that about Indian food since I’m Indian myself. My family actually came back twice in one week we enjoyed the food so much. The lamb biryani is to die for, I prefer it over the chicken biryani due to how amazingly the lamb is cooked and the pieces are HUGE! We ordered the goat curry and kadhi chicken and chicken tikka masala. No complaints about anything. Everything was delicious. I am excited to come back to try the dosa. The only complaint i would have is that the service could be quicker but you can’t even get mad because the food is so good and the staff is so incredible nice and friendly. Such a great spot!

great meal, checked it out with a groupon. The manchurian broccoli was delicious. We enjoyed our chicken and lamb as well. Garlic cilantro nan was tasty. Great customer service. Cool spot, small but comfortable. You should go check it out. Décor isnt the greatest but the food and hospitality is what I care about.

After having Indian food from 2 other places in the weeks prior in westchester, this has been one of the better Indian spots for food and service. Definitely worth the groupon! Shankar was great and welcoming, even gave us free kulfi! All the other people in the restaurant are friendly too from chefs to waitress, they really appreciate the business. Place was empty, all the food we had was delicious and not greasy. They have a huge buffet on the weekend with 6 veg and 6 non veg courses! Prices are more than reasonable. Will definitely come back and recommend to people.

We order lamb Rogan Josh, spring roll Dosa and Lamb Curry. Both lamb dishes tasted the same. Taste was ok. The spring rolls were tasty, needed more veggies inside.

We found this place on a Groupon and saw the positive Unilocal reviews and decided to give it a try, we are really glad we did. Don’t let the location deter you… this restaurant has really good and authentic Indian food. It tastes homemade and there is obvious care put into every dish. The samosas were possibly the best I’ve ever had. The spices and addition of onion gave it a really nice touch. The Goan fish curry was amazing and I would go back and get that again and again. The dal was creamy and veggies fresh. Only complaint is that the vindaloo though flavorful wasn’t spicy enough for us. The service is warm and friendly and even my picky 2 year old announced that the seafood soup was«delicious»…so happy to have found this spot in Yonkers where mediocre Indian food seems to be commonplace. We will definitely be back.

We have eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants over the years, and I must say this was the best Indian meal we have ever had! There are a lot of unique choices on the menu, and they are willing to adapt any recipe to your dietary preferences! Great if you are vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free or low salt! Especially recommend the fish with coconut sauce, the Dosas(bigger and better than the Dosa Hut in Hicksville, known as the best Dosas on Long Island!)-and we can’t wait to try other dishes! Give this new restaurant a try, and you will be back! (And, the meters out front go until 8PM…)

This place provided me delicious authentic Indian food. They have good variety of items on menu and serving was good too. Manager Shankar welcomed us nicely with smiling face and his gesture was very professional. Surely want to visit again. Thumbs Up!

Indian food is delicious and finding a spot to get it is difficult. I was pleasantly surprised to find a spot that offered a great and incredible buffet selection. I was treated with the outmost professionalism, and my palate was delighted! I recommend this restaurant. I will be going back!

The food here is excellent, the service is outstanding and it is consistently good. I eat here at least once a week and have never, ever had a problem. I also do not eat very spicy food, so when I ask for the food to be «„mild“» they listen. Dinesh, the owner,(as well as the workers) are very friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for some great Indian food in Yonkers this is definitely the place for you. The atmosphere is very colorful, comforting and relaxing with the water fountains and bubble walls. I have tried a couple of Indian restaurants in Westchester but none came close to Valley Indian Bistro’s food and service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone of my friends or relatives that come and visit.

Where are the locals? If you wanna really try an authentic indian food, this is the right place in your neighborhood, I visited yonkers for a business trip I saw this gem newly launched, I was so excited to step up inside the restaurant, The hole in the wall called. VALLEYINDIANBISTRO; a smiley face welcomed me inside the restaurant In proper hospitality manner, the whole restaurant smells with lots of aromatic incense I mean the food ‚ They offered me a lunch buffet it was really fantastic, phenominal and top notch I tried so many indian buffets during my business trip around this area This one of the best Indian buffet I ever had Hats off to the chef my humble request is this Institution has to follow and provide the same standard of food and service for the locals Definitely this restaurant will be rocking, once again thank you so much for the management. Good luck for the entire valley indian bistro team members, keep doing the great work.
