Here with my boyfriend Angel eating lunch. I had the Gyro and he had the Reuben. I must say that I was amazed. I loved my sandwich ate all of it fast. My boyfriend said his Reuben was on point. I love to try new places and different foods. The price was great $ 20 for both our meals can’t go wrong. I will definitely be coming back again.

Ate here two times this month. It’s very convenient to me. This is the old Friendlys location. The place is a little antiquated but nice. Parking is good if you don’t go there primetime. The food is very good. Their gyro platter is really good. Their French Fries are large and tasty. Wouldn’t go as far as saying homemade but very close. I also had their waffles and a side of beef sausage. Very soft waffles and very tasty beef sausage. Once again I wouldn’t say this stuff is made on premise but at least it’s good. Service is pretty good too. I’ve noticed they hire older folks as servers but I’ve got no problem with that. I actually applaud them for it. All in all its decent and I’ll be back.

What a welcome establishment in this area! I have had 4 fabulous breakfasts here and two lunches. The Coffee is great. Very good bacon. Crisp. Real blueberries in the pancakes. The bbq chicken cheddar and bacon deluxe is great. Excellent strudel, crumb cake and Greek pastries. Everyone is very nice. Hope they stay open later in the summer.

We love this place. Its become our go-to diner in the area. Its bright, clean and owners and staff are super friendly and accommodating. Its a real pleasure to be served by such nice people who remember you and genuinely appreciate your patronage. We’ve been here many times at all times of the day, and ordered a variety of different items off the menu. The portions are generous and food is fresh, simple and well-prepared. Among our favorites are: Penne alla Vodka(made with pancetta), Vegetarian wrap(made with breaded and fried eggplant), Pork Souvlaki(grilled perfectly and juicy), Palermo sandwich, various salads, moussaka and pasticchio. Our daughters love the super thick waffle fries. All the food is well-prepared and tastes very fresh. Breakfast is great too. Have a coffee frappé for dessert — just not right before bedtime :)

I came in the other day and had a pork souvlaki platter with greek salad and fries. The pork was so tender and juicy and delicious tzatziki sauce and a greek salad done right. The place was packed and had to sit at the counter which I didnt mind because i was alone. The owner or manager threw in a greek galatobouriko dessert which is one of the best I had. Will def be coming back. The staff is great and place is clean!

First and foremost… Diner is CLEAN! The greeting you get is so warm, whether it’s from the owners or waitstaff, very inviting. I have been for breakfast many times and they know how to do it. Went for dinner a few times, once on Christmas night, terrific. I had a few of their Greek specialties and both were outstanding. Desserts are great, coffee superb(I am a real PITA when it comes to coffee and this place has tasty coffee both in the AM and PM. That place is my go-to from now on. Thanks for opening up such a good eatery! Diane & Umberto

Another fly by night eatery in Yonkers. I dont expect them to remain open for too long. I came here for the first time Monday Dec 14th really wanting to like this place. Its close to home and I was looking to try a different place. Im a typical eater-outer who never cooks lol. My waitress was friendly but she seemed very inexperienced. The diner itself is nice and clean. I ordered the turkey and stuffing special. The salad it came with was good but once the food arrived everything went downhill. The turkey wasnt fresh turkey, it was sliced deli turkey and the stuffing had olives in it. I personally never had olives in stuffing but either way it tasted terrible. I took one bite of my main course and literally spit it out. A different server who was an older gentlemen witnessed that and I told him I wasnt too happy with my food. He insisted that I was wrong and the turkey was fresh and that i didnt have good taste when it came to food because I said the stuffing didnt taste good. He was sorta grumpy and had an attitude. I saw someone who appeared to be an owner/manager walking around but Im really surprised he didnt come over to ask me if everything was ok considering I had shoved my main course dish completely to the side. I did eat the side vegetable which was good. To top it all off I was charged for my meal which I didnt not eat nor like at all and no i wasnt asked if i wanted something else. I even told the big girl at the register that I didnt like my meal and she didnt seem to care. Nearly $ 20 later I had to run to another diner 5 mins away to have a good dinner. This place needs more leadership, feedback from customers need to be taken more seriously, train your staff in customer service issues, and better food. There are other diners in the area that have 20+ years in business so you’re going to have to try harder !

This place took over an hour to deliver to me on a Sunday, and when I called a few times to check on my order because I had an appointment the guy was telling me how it wasn’t fair to him meanwhile it was over an hour, and he had the nerve to tell me that I was lying when I placed my order. Service is ridiculous, this place is a joke, we will see how long they last with a turnover time like that, and a management staff that doesn’t know how to treat there customers.

Tried this diner for bkfst and lunch, mediocre food at best. Good service, decent pricing but food quality is lacking. All booths for seating, since it was a friendlys same décor, with tables jammed into your gut so you didnt spill too much icecream. Overall fair OK in a pinch.

Great prices as well as good food. Staff is always courteous and helpful along with the delivery drivers. Diners typically tend to serve the same as any other diner but this one seems to take their menu to another level. They offer an interesting variety of pretty much everything.

Like every diner, the Grassy Sprain has pros and cons. Let me start with the pros. The staff is always friendly to me. I work nearby so I come in often since I don’t own a car. Out of the three times I’ve been here — the staff has always been friendly and approachable. You can tell it is family run and Greek oriented. I have never had a problem with any of them. The breakfast food is MUCH better than the dinner food. The pancakes are good for a diner. It is sad that many diners fail at frying a pancake but they actually make a good short stack here. The french toast was also good and so was the bacon. Overall, I had a good breakfast experience here and the service was quick. However, the dinner isn’t the best quality(or maybe it was the food I tried.) The chicken wings tasted under cooked — had a weird aftertaste and so did the sauce. My boyfriend’s burger was a beef patty. Not fresh — nothing special. The fries were soggy. My french onion soup was bland and the cheese had no flavor. My friend had a pastrami sandwich and enjoyed it. Overall, it’s an OK experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone but it’s not horrible for something quick if you are close by.

This place is terrific. The food is delicious and well-priced and the service is friendly and attentive. I’ve been two weeks in a row and am about to make it two days in a row! Fantastic chili and my husband loves the Belgian waffle.

I had been a regular to the Friendly’s that had occupied that space for many years(what can I say-I liked the ice cream) and when this Diner opened in its place I had to give it a try. Still has the same basic layout as the old Friendly’s but much more modern and clean. Wait staff were very professional and seemed to be family run business. Typical Diner menu with hundreds of options though prices were more reasonable than some of the bigger, more established Diners in the area. Our table ordered burgers, salads, and an omelette. It was a Saturday night and fairly business yet the food came out in a reasonable time and everyone thought the quality and taste was at the high end of diner food. Will definitely be coming back.

My sister and I decided to try this place for a change. First off, the older waitress we were greeted by, or that lack there of, was really rude and lacked any sort of people skills. She came off as having an attitude. Second, the food was less than par by any means. I ordered an orange juice, and the cup was only ¾ full, with no free refill. I’ll stick to my usual diner. This experience was terrible.

So, we were out shopping today and decided to stop here for a bite before heading home. We settled on trying out this spot, instead of going to our go-to diners. We figured we’d give it a try since it is pretty close to where we live. Well, we should have gone with any other diner in the area. First i’ll start with the sort-of good. The wait staff is courteous, but seem ill-prepared to handle much of anything in the way of a problem. Our waitress was sweet, attentive and perfectly polite, but seemed frazzled(odd since the place wasn’t busy when we went in). It might have had something to do with the fact that she wrote down everything we ordered long-hand, repeating it back under her breath as she wrote it. Frankly, it was a touch awkward and the entire ordering process took a good five minutes. The diner itself is clean, homey-feeling and comfortable, although the heat was on so high I wasn’t sure if I should be eating dinner or practicing Bikram yoga. Now for the not good. The food was mediocre, and that is being generous. My boyfriend got a soup that had bones in it, so we sent that back. They were out of the soup I had ordered. The boneless wings were acceptable, but the ranch dressing they offered with it tasted odd. Definitely not a dipping ranch. He had a panini that was pretty tasteless. It wasn’t good, it wasn’t bad. It just was. My thanksgiving wrap could have been good, but it tasted like they added curry or cumin to the stuffing. It was just a very odd combo. My mom had dined with us, and she said her soup(cream of mushroom) was fine, as was her Cobb salad(kind of hard to screw that up). There was nothing particularly great about it, but it was edible. When it came time to pay they left both my soup(which they didn’t have anymore of) and my boyfriend’s soup(which he sent back) on the receipt. Took a few minutes to sort that out. While it was sorted out eventually, it was a mistake that shouldn’t have happened. This diner also doesn’t offer free refills on soft drinks. That’s not something I have ever experienced in a diner. We found it kind of strange. We left and within 20 minutes my boyfriend and I both needed to find a restroom, immediately. I don’t have a delicate stomach by any stretch of the imagination, and I’ve never felt so sick after a meal out before. The feeling lasted for the entirety of the night. So, we paid $ 60 to feel like little bombs were exploding inside our stomachs. Not pleasant. We won’t be back. It really is a shame because the place is conveniently located, well decorated and has a staff that is well-meaning, even if they aren’t particularly well-trained. The food is just not good. Oh well. We will be sticking to Seven Brothers Diner or Central Plaza Diner from now on. Both are miles better than this place even though they don’t have that fresh, new novelty to them.

The service here is terrible, the waiters don’t know what comes with what, they can’t explain what comes with what and they have no idea about prices. They also charged me wrong and I had to speak to a manager about it. I ordered a gyro and the meat was over salted and the pita bread bread didn’t taste like traditional pita bread. My wife ordered breakfast and she didn’t like her home fries they were undercooked and mushy. Her eggs were good but that’s about the only thing that was good at this diner. I would never come here again

Really tasty new diner in the old Friendly’s location on Tuckahoe Rd. I’ve been waiting to try this place for a while now and they finally opened. I stopped in for breakfast and it was delicious. It’s set up pretty much the same as the Friendly’s, but much cleaner. The service is very attentive and like any good diner, the food comes quickly. I decided on the Italian omelette, which is filled with sausage, mozzarella and tomatoes. It came with home fries and toast. The omelette was great, the sausage was delicious and it all fell into place wonderfully. The home fries were great, they had the thin slices of potato that kind of melt in your mouth. I’m really looking forward to going back soon. The food was great and the place itself is really nice.
