Pizzeria La Gitana

I really like this this quiet little place. Great food, great service, great music, great wine. Who could ask for anything more.

We ate at La Gitana for the first time today & were very imprrssed! The food was delicious, service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We will definetly be going back! I can’t believe we didn’t try this restaurant sooner. Would highly recommend it based on our experience!

Came here for the first time today. The pizza was fantastic, I would definatly recommend. The ingrediants were fresh and we’ll prepared. My only complaint is that they have low tables compared to the stools and the table lights hang low, so as a man who is 6’2 I basically had to hunch over and bang my head on a hanging light every so often.

This is 5 star resturant for Yelm. We ate there twice in a recent visit to Yelm. The arugula and prosciutto pizza and ravioli were very good. The wine selection is good. Atmosphere is pleasing. Service was excellent.

The food was good, but the food wasn’t very filling… was hoping for leftovers, ordered two larges but we ate every last crumb.

Amazing pizza, actually some of the best I’ve ever had! It is overpriced and no options for different sizes. Service and food is excellent, so it gets 4 stars.

I adore this place… It’s clean, cozy, romantic and just beautiful on the inside. Waiting staff was attentive, but not at all overbearing. I can’t say anything bad about this place. Food was delicious and their tiramisu was amazing! … A very lovely establishment indeed.

The lunch special here is a great deal. For $ 10 you get a beautifully dressed salad of organic greens and a 9″ pizza. The crust on the pizza is crispy and flavorful. I got mine with mushrooms and arugula. The arrugula was heaped on. They are not skimpy with the toppings.
For dessert I got the tiramisu. The portion is huge. Honestly, I could have easily shared it with another, thought about boxing half, and ended up all but licking the plate. A spot on cappuccino was the perfect addition.
La Gitana is cozy and the service is exceptional.

Came in for lunch at noon.
We were seated right away.
Ordered the $ 10 salad and pizza (sausage)
Not a fan of balsamic vinegar on salad.
Excellent pizza!
Tomato sauce was delicious and the crust was SO light and crispy!

La Gitana is by far the best pizza place not only in my town, but the best pizza I’ve had since moving to Washington 10 year’s ago! It’s nothing like the «pizza «we’ve all grown up eating. They offer a variety of different recipes/​toppings that seem unusual at first, but once you try them, it’s like finding a «gourmet» pizza that so full of flavor, it’s hard to go back to the Old Stuff.
They offer a great deal on different specials once a week, i think on Tuesday’s, where if you give them your number, each week you’ll get a text of the latest special is, and it’s at a great price with a different, amazing thing to try. I look this place.

Went for the first time, before dinner rush. The waitresses were super nice and kept checking on us. Didn’t feel comfortable after seeing the manager/​owner come out, stopped at the other two tables to check on their experience, even greeted other people walking in, but never once came to check on us (makes it awkward when there’s only three tables being occupied). We ordered the three meats pizza but ended up leaving hungry

Uhhm… I just don’t get it. Our visit there was just above mediocre, at best. Definitely come for the service and desserts, but the pizza… not so much.
The service was outstanding… our waiter made sure our glasses were always filled (so I tipped him a 20-​spot as the place was VERY BUSY when we were there with a party of 7)…the pizza cook, in flour-​covered-​apron, delivered our pizzas to the table himself… and two owners/​management types stopped by the table to check on us. [Service: 5 stars]
The desserts were worthy of praise… rich and delicious chocolate cake, milhojas, and tiramisu. [Desserts: 4 stars]
BUT, the pizza was just like pizza I have bought by the slice from food trucks and convenience stores. The thin crust was wet — not moist, but WET on all four of our pizzas. The sauce was grocery store can-​like in flavor. The toppings were few and far apart. All-​in-​all If you’re a pizzeria restaurante’ your signature meal… the pizza… should be your best item on the menu. Not even close. [Pizza: ½ of a star]
We may go back for superlative desserts with excellent service after dinner-​date night or a movie, but I just don’t understand how this is a multi-​year winner of Best Pizza of the Nisqually Valley.

My favorite pizza place And my favorite pizza there is the prosciutto & arugula and I add mushrooms to it. A fun, up-​beat, ambiance with very friendly wait-​staff. It will become your favorite, old-​world Italian pizza ristorante!

Great pizza, takes me back to having real Neapolitan pizza. We regularly order the quattro formaggi, Alpina, Emiliana and the Margherita, all are delicious. I can not reccomend this place enough.

I just wanted to give some input, I was going to place an order for the $ 10.95 deal but requested two pizzas and was informed it only applies for one. So instead of making a $ 22.00 bill along with a tip, you lost business. To me this doesn’t make sense and just wanted to voice an opinion, we love your food and hope to see you again someday.

This is an authentic Italian style pizzeria in the middle of a culinary wasteland! The ingredients are fresh and delicious, and the pizzas are scrumptious. For the uninitiated, these pizzas are not at all like standard North American pizza (i.e. they are not drowned in cheese, meat, grease-​nor is the crust doughy). These are light, crispy super-​flat pizzas with fresh ingredients topping them.
The service was a little uneven-​orders getting confused with adjacent tables, but the staff were friendly and took care of the mishap. There is room for improvement, but it hardly detracts from the overall enjoyment of the food.
Ambiance is perfect-​a quaint countryside café with a patio area in front and a small dining room inside.
I make my wife take me here when she drags me to Aspen Farms for a Horse Show… La Gitana and a couple of other foodie gems nearby make up for all the «horsing around»…

The staff was very friendly and courteous. Definitely a place to visit in Yelm. This place has a cute atmosphere and the pizza is AWESOME! Have to say some of the best pizza I have ever had. we got it togo one day. We came back for a sit down dinner and the pasta is very good too.

Delicious. Amazing fresh healthy food. And Fishtale on tap. Yes. Nice and attentive wait staff. GMO Free and organic, as well as gluten free options.

Surprisingly good considering it’s out in the middle of nowhere. You just can’t compare artisanal pizza to chains like Pizza Hut, Little Caesars or Dominos. This is way more healthier and fresh. It’s a thin crust so what one has to understand is when this style of pizza is loaded with too many toppings and sauce it gets soggy and/​or fall apart. This style of pizza is definitely not about quantity.
I thought the prices were slightly high for the location, but then again maybe they have to make up to the lack of foot traffic.
The service was prompt, friendly and our server was polite. Not terribly busy when we went which was great. I will definitely return if ever in the area again.
