Food is good, but the worst service I have ever had. would recommend to do take out!

All I can say is meh. I ordered the Shrimp Lo Mein, Veggie Lo Mein, Shrimp Fried Rice & a Yellow Tail Roll. The Lo mein was good as any spot and so was the yellow tail roll, but I’m not sure why the fried rice was a bit mushy. As if the rice had been sitting in the water too long because everything was clumped together and sad looking. The yellow tail roll was good and watched the guy roll it for me, but I’ve seen bigger rolls for the same price in other spots. Even the fortune cookie was stale o. O Altogether my meal was around $ 26($ 5 for small and $ 8 for large generally) which was fair, but I was really let down since this was a recommendation. I thought everything was going to lead to a pretty nice dinner since it’s located in a good shopping center, very clean on the inside with no fishy /greasy smell and the menu seemed good. Yet this would be the one recommendation that let me down some when the food came in contact with my mouth. Final Conclusion: Kinda blah and meh with semi high prices slapped with a «Yardley location».

Charming Garden is a typical Chinese American house that offers both Chinese and Sushi in the middle of a just-off-the-highway shopping plaza in Lower Makefield, Pa. Calling this location Yardley is a marketing ploy, as it is not that riverside borough, but does have more name pizzazz that its actual address. Stopped in for lunch after a run to Home Depot last Saturday. It is a bright, clean room, with efficient service. The servers keep busy anticipating the needs of customers, while the sushi chef stands and waits for an order. My Hot & Sour Soup was good, and seemed freshly made without reliance on MSG. The Veggie Chow Fun was a nice size plate for lunch. The assortment of greens was not vast beyond carrots, onion, peas, broccoli and a few baby corns, but the brown sauce covered everything in a decent tasting goo. The broad noodles held the flavors of everything around them well enough. My bud asked for extra heat on his dish, but got it bland with a side dish of Szechuan Chili Sauce. He said it was not as good that way and he preferred when the sauce was cooked with the other ingredients. No real reason to return to Charming Garden unless I find myself hungry again when in the vicinity.

We are frequent customers here but during our latest visit the wait staff all but ignored us. Customers who came in after us were served before us. When we did finally get our appetizers they were frozen in the middle. When we complained, the staff did not to seem to be very concerned and kept telling us that they made a mistake. When the entrees did arrive they were very good as usual.

Mediocre at best. Take out house Low Mein was tasteless. Pad Thai was noodles with a little chili spicy sauce with a few shrimp, no tamarind taste, no bean sprouts, no fish sauce taste, no peanuts, no tofu. Expensive for what you get, Shrimp egg roll was just OK.

Good sushi, traditional meals, small close personal restaurant, little pricey but for its location it’s not bad I’m about 5 min down the street so it serves it’s purpose

Worst meal I’ve had in a while. Boneless spare ribs $ 8 for 5 pieces. Thick, gummy and in a terrible sauce. Chicken in soup was not even sure what kind of subpar grade of «chicken» meat. Spring roles tasted foul and spoiled. Chicken lomein, tasteless, oily and the same questionable«chicken meat». And all for a whopping $ 28! Followed by pepto and excruciating stomach pains. Would fear the thought of eating their sushi. Not sure how this place is still in business!

Best. General Tso’s chicken of your life. Cooked perfectly. Prices are very reasonable for this above average Japanese/sushi/Chinese place. Sushi roll was delicious along with good service and good atmosphere.

I’ve been to Charming Garden quite a few times, and the food was good every time. The service there is good, but somewhat slow. This doesn’t really bother me since I am a fan of their food. And while I do agree that this restaurant is a little pricy, I wouldn’t say that is is too expensive. Overall, the food is very good and the service there is friendly even though it might be a little slow every now and then. So for those reasons, I give it 4 stars.

Sushi is ok, not great. Chinese isn’t bad. I like the health menu, lots of good options.

Service beyond slow. One waitress for entire albeit small place. Food so so only. General Tzo chicken was bland. Chicken with cashew had lots of vegetables. Requested it spicy. Had heat but little flavor. Pan fried pork dumplings were burnt and tasteless. Definitely not coming back.

They have good wonton soup, but everything else is inconsistent. I feel like they don’t care as much about this location. Two things that really bug me: 1. They don’t deliver. And 2. When you dine in they don’t give you the black tea like most places. That’s my favorite part of dining in for Chinese food! You can order green tea by the cup if you want, but whatever. I will say that their sushi is pretty good, although just as expensive as their other place(Concerto) which has better everything.

I had not been here in years until last night, and I was very impressed. They had our food ready in 10 minutes!!! I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box that was awesome and filled with flavor. It comes with California rolls and fruit! Yummm my mom wanted a steamed shrimp dish. They one uped her and made a low fat stir fry dish that was superb! The egg rolls are also great! The décor is also beautiful

I’ve been coming here for years and I love every bite of Chinese food or sushi. But when they are busy the service is kind of slow and it is a little pricy. But it is worth the price. I’ve never had a bad tasting meal here.

This used to be one of my favorite spots, but in the past year it’s really fallen. The service is so slow & the quality of food has gone down from great to just ok. The price is too high for barely mediocre food, very disappointing. I keep going back hoping it’s just a fluke, but every time is the same or worse. I hope they refocus & bring back the great place it used to be.

«Used to be good until they took their focus off this place» I am locale and I used to take out from this place all the time. It was good and I regretted that they were not able to deliver. They had decent American style Chinese food and passable sushi(if one really craved it and did not want to go out of town to get it). Then they opened up another location which was supposedly higher end. I am not sure how that other location is doing, but this one suffered for that opening. I don’t trust that they really care about this location and it shows through the quality of food, preparation and service. Needless to say we don’t order form this place not eat here anymore. Someone needs to buy this place out(good location) and start cooking good local Chinese food. There is a demand for that here!

My son and I went here based on a friend’s recommendation. The place is small and was very crowded so I figured my friend was onto something. Our veg & shrimp tempura appetizer was good so I initially was not disappointed. When my 15yo son took the first bite of spicy tuna maki, he said, «It’s fine.» That was an apt description. It was average, uninspired and probably fresh enough that you do not need to worry about going home and getting sick. I had higher expectations for my «crazy couple» roll. The menu description sounded really interesting and delicious. The roll was also«fine.» It was also described as «spicy» which it was not. We decided not to try anymore sushi and maybe stick with the Chinese food. They brought us empty appetizer plates for sharing. Both were dirty and we had to request clean ones.(um, ick…) When they brought our other food, it was«fine» as well…

Charming garden hits the spot when your craving some chinese food or sushi but the best word I can use to describe it is average. Nothing perse I can think of to complain about, simply the service, the food, the atmosphere is nothing special, nothing bad, just… Average.

I like this place and wish I got here more often. They give you a larger than average portion of wonton soup and they have a great General Tso’s tofu. Other food is hit or miss depending on your tastes.

Consistently wonderful and BOYB! Slightly less expensive than it’s counterpart Concerto Fusion, Charming Garden is just as delicious. Sadly they do not share the same Pad Thai recipe as Concerto Fusion, but it’s still very good! The Sushi here is always good too!
