After Image

I recently took my daughter to After Image Salon for a cut. Bert was our stylist. The salon is on the smaller size. But, is very inviting, chic & had an all around good vibe! My daughters hair is long & very thick & heavy. She’s extremely particular about who touches her hair but, she loved Bert from the minute we walked in! While there, we were talking about how she’s wanted her brows shaped but, has been scared to let anyone touch them… Including me. Waxing is another service After Image provides. Bert offered to wax/​shape her brows and she immediately agreed to let him do it. She got a shampoo, cut, dry & brow waxing. The time seemed to fly while chatting with Bert. He’s so friendly, charming & most importantly, a talented stylist! The salon was reasonably priced for these services, comparable to other salons in the Yardley/​Newtown area. After we left, my daughter asked how soon can I go back?! And, we will definitely be going back soon. Give After Image a try and be sure to ask for an appointment with Bert!!!

My daughter went in for a color and brought a photo of one she liked. The stylist, Kelly, said she could not perform the color in the photo but would do highlights similar. My daughter (age 18) agreed not really knowing what was being done. After a short amount of time her hair was done (still wet) and she was charged $ 190 and sent home. After it dried it looked awful, highlights in a yellowish brass tint that started in the middle of her head! She sent me photos so I called, spoke to Kelly and she said to have her come back in. My daughter was there 9 mins and sent back home with a wet head again only to find when it dried it was exactly the same!
I’m extremely disappointed in this salon as it took no care in her color or the fact that she was charged a large amount of money for a color that destroyed her hair.
I’ve used AF many MANY years ago and liked it but I will never go back or recommend them to anyone again. My daughter was so excited to have her hair done for her first year at college and paid with all her own money and was so upset at the entire outcome.

Avoid this place! They are inept, overpriced, and will lie to you. They did nothing my wife asked for, they still charged full price. She was in tears for a week. Negotiating for a refund is futile. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else that has more skills, and less costly.

I had a wonderful experience at After Image. I came in for a trim and color, and my hair had not been colored in FOREVER. I was looking for something natural, but a bit of a change, so I opted for a full head of highlights. The color is GORGEOUS. I am a natural blonde, and this color simply just enhanced my natural hair. I LOVE it.
The trim was just as expected: a TRIM. I’ve had many experiences wherein I ask for a trim and the stylist takes off an inch without discussing with me first. The owner (who was my stylist at After Image) simply shaped up my current cut, getting rid of dead ends and making sure the style was intact.
The staff is friendly and stylish, exactly what you want to see when you enter a salon. The décor was beautiful and welcoming, and the salon was clean and well cared for.
The pricing is normal for a stylish, up-​to-​date, and high end salon. If you want a great cut and color, you know that it usually doesn’t come cheap. But, you get what you pay for.
I will be recommending this salon to friends and family and I can’t wait to go back.

I had a very disappointing experience with this salon. I donated my hair to Locks of Love through After Image. At After Image, the haircut itself is free when you donate your hair. However, I found out after the fact that if you want your hair blown dry, there is a $ 35 charge. The woman who cut my hair insisted that in order to finish my hair cut properly, she would need to cut my hair dry, not wet. She did not mention the additional $ 35 charge at the time. Then, she also tried to sell me a product, because she thought that my hair needed more volume.
To make matters worse, I followed up with Locks of Love 2 months later, since I did not receive a Certificate of Appreciation, only to find that After Image still did not donate my hair. I called to salon to find out that to save on shipping costs, After Image will only ship hair once they have a particular amount of donations. If I would have known that this is the case, then I would have mailed my hair myself. In fact, Locks of Love advised me to mail my hair myself in the future to ensure that my hair isn’t lost and so Locks of Love actually receives the donation.
In short, this salon is not transparent. When donating my hair out of the goodness of my heart, I would have appreciated knowing additional, hidden charges up front. I also would have appreciated knowing that my hair would only be shipped when After Image is good and ready to ship it. I will never come back here and advise potential Locks of Love donors and other customers to think twice before visiting this salon.
