I have been using Millennium for years for haircuts, massages, and occasionally other services. I have never had a bad experience.

I booked a last minute bikini wax at Millennium on a Friday morning for 4pm that afternoon. I had been to Millennium once before for a bikini wax and it was great!(older Asian woman whose name now escapes me) However, this time was a nightmare! My appointment was with Maya, who was a delight to talk to. BUT… I was immediately taken aback when I first felt her apply the wax, noticing how LARGE of an area she was planning to wax at once(about 2 inches wide). She applied the strip and I knew it would hurt a bit, but was shocked when she ripped it off without holding any of the rest of my skin taught!!! She allowed the strip to literally yank my flesh away from my body as it ripped the hair out! I have had a number of regular and brazilian waxes, and either the waxer holds my skin taught while removing the strip, or I’ve been asked to do it… which is necessary to avoid pain, and to remove the strip quicker! Maya continued in this manner, watching me wince and no doubt seeing how constricted my muscles were. The wax was over after 20 miserable minutes, and now, almost 24 hours later, my skin is still severely irritated. I’ve never had a bad reaction to wax, nor have I ever had lingering pain from a wax. It is IMPERATIVE to have a good waxer, but Maya at Millennium is not it!

I got my wedding hair and makeup done here and it was just sort of okay. I chose Millenium because they are known in the area for being upscale and expensive. They did a good job for me, but they did my mom’s make up really harshly and he hair was all poofed out and crispy with hair spray. It just wasn’t a flattering look and it was too late to do anything to fix it, we just had to run to the wedding. My sister’s hair came out 100% the opposite of what she wanted. She wanted an updo high on her head with little frills, sort of like a bun. She got a teased up low updo and to this day still confuses her. She even brought a picture to show what she wanted but the hair dresser just took her own initiative and did was she wanted. I didn’t think that was right. My sister wasn’t enthused either. The manicurist that did my sister’s nails also wasn’t very friendly. My sister asked if she could do a design and one nail and she pretended not to speak English well and said curtly, «I don’t have.» Fine, she didn’t have any. She ran through the manicure as fast as she could and no one could understand why. Then a woman walked in with her daughter and the manicurist was suddenly all smiles with perfect English. We were all sort of offended. Its already ridiculous that they charged $ 18 for the manicure, no tip. It was worse that we weren’t treated as if our money was as good as other customers. We were a wedding party and getting to millenium took a lot of coordination and planning. I wish they treated us better. I know my sister wont be back…

Love it here. I came in last week after my boyfriend surprised me with a gift certificate. I walked in and was greeted warmly by the front desk. The girl took me into the spa, and offered me some tea which was great. Then I got changed into a robe. I got a facial and waxing with Alison(loved her def go see her ladies). Then I had a super relaxing massage with Brenda(yay!) and then I got a great blowout from Hector. It was such a relaxing day:)

I have been going to Millenium for massages with Kelly for years now. She is wonderful! I have a serious back problem and I totally trust her to make me feel better when it’s acting up. Unlike many other massage therapists she always works hard to make you feel better and is very intuitive as to what to do and how much pressure to apply. I can’t say enough good things about getting a massage with Kelly. Enjoy!

I’ve been there several times for massages, hair cuts and manis. Another reviewer pointed out that the salon clients are predominantly blue haired old ladies. Therefore, I chose not to risk coloring my hair here. I have curly, coarse hair. The stylist had no idea how to cut my hair and I ended up with a crooked cut that chopped through my curls. As for the massages… I pay for an hour massage, yet the masseuse steps out for 15 minutes while I lie there wrapped up listening to mood music.(I know it’s 15 minutes because she has a clock on a side table facing me.) She returns with a Starbucks coffee. At good salons/spas, while my body is wrapped up, the masseuse massages my feet, my hands, my head… she does not walk away. Finally, the masseuse talked **incessantly** about her twisted relationships and baggage. The last time I went, I asked for quiet and that she provide me with an hour massage or charge me for a 45 minute massage. She became nasty and I left. For good. Oh, and when you go to pay, there are 2 to 3 employees hovering at the small check out area waiting and watching you – hard to explain the feeling it gave me… um, creepy, intruded upon, gawked at.

Have gone to Lisa K. for years because she always does a great job on color and cut. Cat adventure tales are an added bonus!

Worst salon ever! I truly thought it was a geriatric salon! They rush you in & out! There are so many people who does your hair… what ever happened to one person who does it all from start to finish? They even charge over $ 40 just to blow your hair dry, even if you just got a cut & color!!! Run away from this salon! They charge way to much for very little service!

The hacked off side is just NOW starting to blend better. It has been very difficult to do my hair for all this time. I have to position the hacked off side just right and heavily spray it into place. I should have made the salon pay for extensions until that side grew in. This will be my final post on 5÷15÷13.

A huge rave for Holly at Millenium. She recently moved to the salon(I have been going to her for 11 years now– I have never stayed loyal to my doctors, other spa service professionals, manicurinst or anything) but once I found Holly I was scared to ever go to anyone else. I was also relieved I did not have to drive into Center City anymore. A few times I have ventured elsewhere for a blow dry, and boy did I regret that. Holly is the only person that has ever blown my curly, frizzy, unruly hair straight, smooth and bouncy without a flat iron. Everyone else I ever went to(top salons in Philadelphia, Main Line, NYC and more) said they could do a blow dry and every time I had to follow it up with iron or they did– except with Holly. Enough about her getting my hair runway fabulous– her real strength is with cutting, in particular corrective cutting. Let’s just say I have sent more than a few friends to her over the years(that are now loyal Holly followers) that had bad haircuts or bad chemical treatments and she sure worked magic on them. She is a master in corrective cutting and styling. Holly has a big following, so definitely call in advance to get in with her and if you have an emergency and need her to fix your hair, let the salon know and she will get you in. You will thank me. Also a huge recommendation for Janice– she is truly a master colorist– coloring is all she does and that definitely gives her the edge and expertise to get your color right the first time. She works very closely with Holly too. She is amazing.

My husband and I had massages here today as a birthday treat for me. I am pleased with the experience. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and shown into a calming waiting area where we enjoyed a cup of herbal tea. My husband had a Swedish massage and I had a therapeutic massage as I have some back issues. My therapist really worked my knots, and also used heat to warm my muscles. The treatment rooms were adequate. I thought the prices were reasonable at $ 75 for a Swedish massage. I left there feeling very relaxed. I will return in the near future as Massage therapy is a great stress reliever for me.

Millenium Hair & Day Spa is a nasty and overpriced salon. I JUST got home from getting my hair cut and cannot believe both the poor quality of the haircut I just received, let alone the nasty attitude of the woman doing it. Rachel, an older, non-English speaking blonde woman in her 60s, was my stylist today(my first time at the salon.) Not only did she yap to her coworker the entire time rather than focus on cutting my hair, she continually commented to me on how«frizzy» and«unfortunate» my hair is. Who would pay $ 80 for a mediocre haircut to be continually degraded by the stylist on your appearance? I would not recommend that ANYONE go here unless you enjoy getting insulted and ignored and paying far too much for it.

I’ve had the worst back pain for a week. I think I pulled something. I couldn’t sleep and it even hurt to breathe, so I took myself to Millennium for a massage hoping it might ease the pain. Wow, Kelly. Thank you. Honestly, I feel 100% better. I don’t know what she did, but I am sold!

Horrendous! Had a cut here for $ 90, then had to go to another salon to fix their job! I only went here because my husband got me a gift card. I never went back to use up the remaining balance on my gift card.

Eff this place. I took my wife here for couples massages, and was beaten over the head for a 45-minute massage during which the masseuse talked my ear off. When you first walk in, it feels as though you are walking into a drab cave. It’s dark with no color whatsoever. I felt like I should have been deliberately sad. I stood at the front counter to announce my presence for my appointment only to be ignored by the TWO ladies behind the desk that were far more concerned with their own conversation. They babbled on and on until I finally spoke up, and was greeted with what I can only describe as contempt for being a customer. The room for the massage and the table were comfortable enough, but what could have been a redeeming effort was ruined by a masseuse that I wish had come with a mute button.

This is expensive for sure. Maybe a tad too expensive. I have had good experience for the last two years. My wife had an amazing cut. I usually ask for Ivy. She does a great job.

I’m the kind of woman who will pay through the nose — for results. However, Millennium’s attitude and prices belie the end result. Nothing warm and friendly about this place, overpriced and, out of the 7 or 8 cuts/colors I’ve had there, I’ve never experienced that«OMG! My hair looks amazing!» breakthrough that would justify the extremely high prices or the staff’s poor attitude. Still looking … Rev. 5÷20÷10 — I am happy to inform ya’all that I am no longer looking now that I have found Salon 31 right next door to Mapes in Ardmore.
