The food is really good; fresh, consistent, and well seasoned. Great guacamole and salsa, and the chips aren’t oily or salty! The carnitas are excellent and the chicken and other tacos are good too. The business is mostly take out and the tables are usually empty. This leads to mixed service, depending on how many walk-ins they have. The TV is always BLASTING a Spanish or news or Spanish news program. Fortunately they’ll give you the remote to change the channel and turn down the volume, so you can talk to the people you’re with or hear yourself think. Cash only.

We used to love it here. No matter what you ordered or what time we could count on 2 steak tacos, 2 chicken tacos, 2 goat tacos, chips and pico. It’s a cash only spot but it USEDTOBE great. A more local joint opened However, Gracie’s changed up & lost all their business so we went back to our hidden taco joint in Worth. It was horrible. The salsa had to have been near a heavy cigarette smoker because my first chip and dip was as if had I licked an ashtray. The tacos where no better. This was the second bad experience. After one bite, my wife decided she was done with tacos, which means I’m done with tacos. here’s some advice; when you’re a joint and a damn good one, DONTCHANGE!

Stopped in after noticing they were open late after a concert in Tinley. Lets get to the point: Its a Cash Only spot with an ATM on site, the tacos are small like Los Comales, & the food is mediocre at best. Ordered a burrito for $ 7, it was tiny. More like a mini burrito, then I saw mini burrito on menu. Geez, how much smaller can they get? The dinners(platillos) are around $ 12, really? U would think they would have reasonable prices since its cash only but no. So my(mini) burrito($ 7) plus beans & rice=$ 12? I think whoever set the prices must’ve dropped out of school. It is a late night spot, open til 4am daily but that’s the only reason to come here. Drunk food!

Terrible service! We came here around noon on a Sunday. As soon as we walked in, all we heard was the television which was super loud! On the television it sounded like jerry springer! All we heard were things like«mutha(bleep)» and«son of a(bleep)» also many bleepity bleeps and blankety blanks if you know what I mean. For those who don’t understand what I’m trying to say, there was a lot of blurred out swearing and cursing happening on this television. I must stress it was loud and unpleasant. Upon hearing this we almost walked out but figured we could still try to give them a chance and not give up on them yet. We dined in a party of 5. This included my two kids. The place was very empty. When we walked in we immediately chose where we wanted to sit. The booths were very small but that was fine because we we just used another booth adjacent to the table we wanted. It seemed like a nice small family run place to go to. After sitting down and settling in, a crabby teenage boy came to the tables and set chips and pico de gallo and salsa on one table. We eventually asked for more chips and pico de gallo for the other table too. We later noticed on the receipt that he charged us extra for these chips and pico de gallo. The crabby teenage boy was very robotic sounding and seemingly bothered by our presence. This made us feel very unwanted here. So we ordered our food and my order was a burrito dinner. When the kid came back with my burrito he didn’t bring the rice and beans that would make it a «dinner.» When I asked about it, he just immediately became defensive and claimed that I didn’t order the«dinner» but just a burrito by itself. I didn’t argue with him. The burrito tasted okay but not great. I also noticed that the door to the kitchen was open. We all heard someone(we assumed it was the cook) sneezing. I know sneezing is a normal part of being human. However when this is happening with all other given circumstances, then it makes it a bigger deal then what it is. To top it all off my daughter had a stomach ache when we left. This may be a coincidence but who really knows? If service was better then I may have been an occasional visitor but I will never go here again. They lost a customer! So overall, 1. Loud television 2. Loud obnoxious show on television 3.rude teenage waiter 4.rude service 5.charged for chips and pico de gallo 6.mediocre mexican food 7 my daughter got a stomach ache

El Gallo de Oro(The Golden C*ck, as it translates!) is a great late night option when everything else around is closed. Not that it isn’t good the other 16 hours they’re open. They have the best guacamole around. Really good salsas(to go w/the complementary chips). Tamales, gorditas, enchiladas, Posole soup– all my favorites can’t be beat. Cheap, too! But note they only take cash.

We arrived at this restaurant at 3:05am on Wednesday 11⁄21 and were the only customers there. Ordered a few burritos and a quesadilla. Not the most complicated order. Another group showed up at about 3:15am and were served by 3:30am. We made our first complaint at that time and were told just a few minutes. At 3:40am, same response to our second complaint. At 3:50am(45 minutes after ordering) we decided we no longer want the order. The ignorant employees started yelling at us claiming for the 3rd time«just a few more minutes» and insisting we have to stay and pay for the food. Waiting any longer for the food was not an option. A person in our group had work at 5am and was about an hour away. No apology, or offer to make up for the mistake in any way, just ignorant employees yelling at us. Worst customer service ever. Aparently if you don’t have at least an hour to wait for a burrito/quesadilla, I would not suggest going to this restaurant.

I went one time and got the steak tacos. Some of the very best I’d ever had. A friend of mine brought me their nachos, which were outstanding. I talk about going back there with my wife all the time, but we never do. Suffice it to say, I have to commit to returning again soon! Just a note: They do not accept credit/debit cards. Bring cash.

I have been going to this place since it first opened and I have seen a new owner/manager almost every year. In the early years the people running this place would recognize repeat customers and treat you very nice, but now it just plain lousy service. The burritos and tacos are decent, have tried both the chicken and steak. The only problem I had is with chicken bones and tomatoe cores in the food, which I can not stand. The tamales are nuked, not steamed, to order which makes them taste like rubber. They have a huge dining room to sit down and eat, which look fairly clean.
