This dentist’s office is a billing/​admin NIGHTMARE!
I used them for over a year and they continually misfiled my insurance paperwork leading to me getting out of network bills that I shoul dnot have been getting. I paid some of them just to square it away, but when it kept happening I decided to switch practitioner’s. This is where the fun began.
First, I requested my dental records, which by HIPAA, I have the absolute right to do. They could only produce my xrays and nothing else, not even the records I brought over from my prior dentists. I told them I would not send the balance due until I had my records that they had ‘misplaced’.
They sent them to me after a couple calls with documentation that I ‘demanded’ my records… what a crock… I asked and it is within my rights. Then they continue, to this day, to bill me though I paid them the balance I owed in full and the remainder I told them to redo the paperwork with the insurance company to get the rest.
They continue to HARASS me EA MONTH with another bill. I finally had enough and called both the office and Vangos’ home line, telling them to read my letter which explained that they needed to get what was owed ot them by refiling the paperwork with the insurance and to call me if there is a question. They haven’t called, but these idiots are probably ready to send out another bill to me.
It turned out that my missing records were actually sent to the insurance company for proof of a medical condition diagnosed by my prior periodontist. WHO DOES THAT. You don’t send the originals and leave the patient file empty… you send COPIES.
Very incompetent staff. Plus they billed me every 3 months for oral/​cavity checks when the dentist never saw me… I was told it was standard to have the hygienist do this but after asking around, I founf out NOT. They stopped billing me every 3 months for that after I complained but still billed me ea 6 months whether the dostor saw me or not.
HIPAA violations. incompetence, harassment and attitude. What a mix for a successful business enterprice!
