This price chopper is not the best or the worst. The staff is usually friendly and helpful. The ladies that work in the flower section are always helpful when I pick out some. They always are willing to wrap them up and make them presentable. The pepper selection is not as good as the shrews location however they are always fresh. The butcher shop guys are always talkative and give us great pepper bacon. This bacon is fresher than the packaged and is much cheaper!!! Try it out!

I don’t usually shop at Price Chopper. I stop here to buy my Net 10 card each month because they are the only place around that carries it consitently. The store seems clean and bright and there are a lot of items to choose from. I just think Price Chopper stores in general are overpriced on their items. Even with the«gas discount» you still would be saving more money if you shopped at Market Basket.

I’m always amazed anyone shops here. The first thing that hits you when you walk in(depending on which entrance is open) is the bad fish smell. The produce comes in two flavors– bland or spoiled. The fish department I will pass on– the smell is enough to keep me away. Fresh meat is nice and clean as is the dairy but walk the grocery aisles at anytime after 7pm and you’ll be treated to either empty shelves or aisles blocked with pallets of groceries waiting to be stocked. They get their cashiers from Walmart rejects and there is no self serve checkout? Come here after 9pm and experience the joy of standing in line for 45 minutes. I did a comparison shop here and at Trader Joe’s in Shrewsbury– my bill difference was THREEDOLLARS, yet at Joe’s the employees were trained well and the experience was very pleasant. Here at Chopperville I was treated to bad service, bad quality and items that rang up wrong on checkout with a cashier who couldn’t figure out how to solve the problem. I don’t go here, even though it’s my closest market.

I hate shopping here, but I can’t tear myself away from the bagels. I saw some pizza bagels in a fridge case that had advanced green mold on them. WOW. This is where I usually get the free Worcester weekly paper, which is really smart and terrific.

I think I love every price chopper, but this one is my favorite. it is big, clean, has tons of inventory and i always walk out with a bunch of cheapo-cheap items! On a recent trip: strawberries: 1.28 $!, coke packs 4 for 10 $ etc. They have a decent cheese selection. The store in Webster, Ma has lots of booze, not this one though but that does not detract from it’s 5-star-rating in my opinion.
