I haven’t gotten a proper haircut for my naturally curly hair for my entire 25 year old life. It was so bad that I couldn’t even wear my hair down, until I met Nina. She’s cut my hair twice with the carve and slice cut and I couldn’t believe my hair would look so perfect. She listened to everything I wanted my hair to do, and she made it happen. I have never gone to a stylist more than once. As long as she’s in business, I’ll be going to her.

This is totally overdue! About 2 weeks ago I got my hair cut by Nina and it looks THEBEST it ever has. I have difficult naturally curly hair and she did exactly what I’ve been trying to explain to stylists I wanted done for years with the Ouidad cut. I will be back and I’ll be ringing my curly haired teenage son with me!!!

I don’t know I don’t think it is good for the price and no one mention the first timer discount. The first lady(white) I don’t know her name, did badly on my hair ! She was rough since when she washed my hair and her tone wasn’t so nice. At the end hair looked the same and I’m not a picky person, I can’t tell the different. Thanks god Nina safed me, my hair looked ok after she did it after the first lady. But at the end it not worth the price of $ 45(I paid $ 55 included tip), they didn’t even put any product on my hair, it left fussy stil. I probably won’t go back. I can get the same hair cut at cheaper price in Chinatown really !!!

Awful place don’t come here. All I got was horribly bleached hair with patches of red throughout it. Very unprofessional staff texting and doing each others make up and I still got charged to fix there mess up! Terrible. Never coming back. Go to a real salon!

Dear Nina(owner of Ntrigue), I’m very disappointed that you charged me an additional(unauthorized) $ 81 for my haircut last summer. I was a loyal customer, but now do not trust you. You did not respond to my email regarding a credit. You tried to charge me $ 135 for a $ 54(with tip) haircut. It strongly appeared you were taking advantage, pretending I wanted a more expensive cut. This was not the case. As a result, I won’t be returning to your salon.

There are not a lot of places to get a curly cut in this area, so I was happy to read on Unilocal that Nina specializes in curls. She is trained in the Ouidad method but will respect your wallet and give you a cheaper($ 45) non-Ouidad cut if you ask for it, as I did. My first trip here, back in February, was not the most satisfying. I was told that layers were a bad idea for curls(first time I’ve heard that) and unsurprisingly ended up with the dreaded«triangle hair.» For lack of better options, I recently gave Ntrigue a second shot and was glad I did. I brought a picture of the style I wanted, which seemed to help. The cut I walked out with was a reasonable approximation of the picture, though a bit shorter – which I ultimately liked better. All in all, it was the best haircut I have received in ages, which means a lot coming from a curly girl who has very strong feelings about her hair.

My wife started going here because they specialize in cutting curly hair. Now we bring the whole family whenever we go. My son and daughter both like going(mostly for the lolly pops) but the stylists there always listen to everyone and are sure they know what you want before they cut anything. I often buzz my own hair or go to a barber, but when my wife is going for a cut they cut my hair here also and they always do a great job and the price is very reasonable. Nina is also a certified barber, but they don’t shave men. They will trim your beard if you’re interested but again, not without asking first.

Haircut was a 3⁄5 at best. Blowout was terrible. My hair was frizzy, pieces were left curly when they should have been straight, and my hair did not look or feel like I went to a salon(confirmed by others). I was told I do a better job when I do it at home. I never have anyone use a straightener, they always use a blow dryer to get my hair smooth and shiny. Not recommended. I’m going to have to go get blown out somewhere else before my event. As a side note, staff was nice but in the end, the haircut is what matters. However, I’m just seeing first timers got 20% off and no one mentioned it to me. Will not be returning.

First time customer and I got a fantastic cut! The customer service was great, but I really found comfort in watching the two ladies ahead of me walk out with great hair! Hair I would pay to have. … And I am like most people are picky about hair I would wear. Thank you Nina for squeezing me in last minute before the 4th of July! I have found my match with Nina.

As a curly-haired girl, sitting in the chair of a new stylist is always daunting. Not may hair dressers have expertise with curls. However, I had full confidence with Nina. She immediately understood my concerns about my hair and explained thoroughly the benefits of the Ouidad cut, which I was unsure about getting because of the steep price. I ended up getting it and man am I pleased I did! My curls have not looked this great in a long time. Not only is she knowledgable, but she’s also friendly and personable, making the appointment and all-around enjoyable experience.

I came in for one night to Worcester on business and Nina at Ntrigue fit me in an hour later! She was funny, kind, welcoming, prompt, professional and more. She knows what she’s doing when it comes to hair. She rushed mine because I was in a hurry but still did a fabulous job and gave me a freebie to-go. The place has nice drinks and lollipops… and she’s a woman business owner, how could you not love her.

Love Nina! She is an awesome hair stylist and is an expert at what she does. I don’t cut my hair very often but when I do, I am super picky as to who cuts it. Nina does the job well, she knows what looks good and what’s best for my hair and I take her advice earnestly. And it’s not just her skill but it’s also her fun personality that makes the experience delightful. This is the only place I will get my hair cut at. Highly recommended! Ask for Nina, you won’t be disappointed.

Not sure why my original review got flagged, but I’m updating my review anyways. I was here again the other day and again I got a fantastic haircut! I wanted another huge change to my hair and went with Nina’s suggestion. I had boring past-shoulder length hair that wasn’t doing anything special and I left with a cute layered bob that ends right under my chin. She just knows how to cut hair and is excellent. I also love that I can recreate what she did myself. I can’t say anything about the other stylists because I have only had Nina cut my hair. Ntrigue still does a 10% discount for UMass employees, and prices are very reasonable. Great place on Shrewsbury St!

Had a terrific experience with Nina at Ntrigue Salon. Was able to book an appt 2 weeks out with Nina for a Saturday morning. Went in for a color and new style and Nina recommended an angled bob. I absolutely LOVEIT!!! Nina didn’t try to sell me anything and gave me a few free highlights and a free sample of the smoothing product that she used. I would have purchased the product had she not offered the sample. The salon is very clean. My haircut and color was under $ 100 which I was shocked and pleasantly surprised about. Overall, fantastic experience! Aside from the fantastic cut and color, Nina is very kind and we sat and chatted while my hair color was setting. She could have been doing so many other things but you can tell that she really cares about making her customers happy. So happy that I found this place on Unilocal

Got my hair dyed and eyebrows waxed here. Nina did both of these for me and I was very satisfied. She’s super efficient, knowledgeable, and good at what she does. Like a lot of other people, I’m picky when it comes to someone cutting my hair but I definitely trust Nina to do mine. It’s also a super cute salon– very inviting atmosphere with coffee, tea, and magazines for customers to read while waiting. Also, the first time you come, you get a 20% discount :) I would definitely recommend Ntrigue Salon!

I love Nina, my hairstylist. The first time I came, she listened very closely to how I wanted my hair. Layered, side-swept bangs, thinned out hair. etc. She made sure she did not miss any detail. I love the fact that she made my hair turn out to be exactly how I wanted it to be. Perfect. Detail and attention to hair means alot to me. Never been any more happier with my hair and my bangs.

I have cut my own hair for the past few years because I could not find anyone who did a job better than my in home self inflicted cut. I have tried everything from the upscale expensive places to the cheap mall chains. A friend had an appointment at Ntrigue so I made one and went with her. Nina did such an amazing job. I got so many compliments! I am going back. The shop is clean and low key. She did a great job.

This is not about the quality of their services, but this is about the owner’s character as a person that has me smitten with this new business. The owner is Nina. I fell nearby on my way to get a pedicure from Nina(wet pavement, car in the way, etc). I was hurt, and had walked in unsure of what to do. I asked for a first-aid kit. She saw I was hurt, and instantly sprung into action to try to help me. I went back to the business that I’d fallen in front of, and they gave me a band-aid. I still needed to clean the wound out, and they had nothing. Without asking her to, Nina got in her car, drove to CVS, bought some medical supplies, and after I cleaned out my wound, she helped me bandage myself up. All the while, asking me if I’m ok, being really sweet to me and being extremely gentle as to not cause me any pain. I was supposed to get a pedicure, but she had another appointment scheduled right after me, but I absolutely rescheduled. In my opinion — it’s kind-hearted people that deserve the kudos and the business. She didn’t worry about the lost appointment, she only cared for my well-being. That goes a long way as far as I’m concerned, and I’m so happy I met her. Now, as of my writing this, she’s only been in business 2 months. It’s a small little place on Shrewsbury St, and is very clean, and while talking with her after, she told me how committed she is to having a happy team, and happy customers that want to come back, she talked about how she’s very committed to the cleanliness and sanitary conditions at her salon for all services, and I have to say, as a fellow entrepreneur, I was impressed with her attitude. I have an appointment for a mani/pedi in a few weeks and I’m really looking forward to going back. Nina is a sweet girl, and I really hope she does well in business.
