New owner and no more fried chicken. Ample seating and parking not. Pretty good middle eastern food, I’d say.

Golden Pita is simply put average in all respects for what it is, a takeout middle eastern place. The food, the service and the décor are all average, there is no saving grace, there is no damning flaw. The location is located at the intersection of the QCC driveway and West Boylston Street, so it’s easy to get to, and the parking lot out front is usually large enough for the number of people who eat there at one time. In it’s previous life the building was a Dunkin Donuts, and the owners have used a bit of spray paint on the ceiling tiles and quite a lot of blown up blown-up-pictures-of-food-wrap stuck on the windows to mask that. It’s a bit garish but not offensively so and it signals that this is not a sit down and admire the ambiance place, you get in and get out or get in, eat and leave. The service is friendly, the cashier happily takes your order and when the cooks are done assembling it happily calls you over to the end of the counter to hand you your food. Food prep seems to take 10 minutes not matter what you order, which is a bit long considering the speed in which many middle eastern places can throw together a meal of the same size. The food itself is pretty average. The falafels are a bit on the dry and crumbly side, but taste OK when dipped in the totally average tasting hummus. The pita bread walks a tightrope of being not«day old» in texture in taste but certainly not fresh, which is odd because the George’s Baker bread that they use can taste very fresh and have a nice texture when you buy it fresh from a place like Ed Hyders. The shwarma also toes the line between being moist and dry somehow, but is tender none the less. That said the beef shwarma seems to be available only at random, so don’t expect to be able to get it every time you come in and be prepared to have the always available chicken. If you’re not willing to make the drive to Aladdin or Bay State and don’t need to be blown away by the food, Golden Pita Grill will take care your middle eastern needs without leaving your disappointed or running back for more.

Zero if I can give it. Not a lot of foot traffic which makes it not fresh. Open and close whenever they want. Their menu includes non middle Eastern stuff, not sure why! and their pita is not fresh.

Golden Pita Grill is not a place to come for a romantic evening, its a loud, utilitarian space that was almost definitely a former Dunkin Donuts. That being said, this is a great place for a cheap meal as you can feed two people good sized falafel wraps and a white bean salad for about $ 15 total. The falafel is frozen, but trip through the fryer and plenty of sauce and pickles turns it into a solid sandwich. The white bean salad was great and just came from a container in the grab and go fridge by the counter. Definitely a good spot for lunch or a quick dinner in the Greendale/Burncoat area. I just hope you can tolerate loud Taylor Swift music.

Been here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The people that work here have always been friendly and the food is always delicious. Favorite place to go for falafel and grape leaves. Wait time never seemed to be a problem but I have never called ahead for our food. My boyfriend is a huge fan of the chicken shwarma here. I like the casual dining atmosphere here as well. Its a great alternative to eating from any of the fast food places in the area.

Really liked the falafel wrap the first few times I got it, but the quality of food is declining. I live around the corner and at any given time during the day, the parking lot is empty. They would have had a good thing going on this side of the city.

A little pricey but the food was great. Had the tabouli salad… fresh and out of this world. Paired it with a chicken kabob sandwich on a heated/toasted pita for a very satisfying lunch. If I’m ever in the area again, I would definitely return! Counter person was really sweet and even shared the ingredients for the salad.

Super friendly. Super fast. And helpful. Was my first time and tried the falafel combo that comes w tabouli and hummus. Falafel was very crispy outside and soft on inside. Best I’ve had. Tabouli was good but typical. Hummus was awesome. Even gave me a card for buy 5 combos and the sixth is free. Will try kebab or shawarma next time. Yes there will be a next time.

This little hole in the wall serves the freshest and most delicious middle eastern food in a hurry. Everything is homemade — falafel, grape leaves, grilled spiced beef. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the green salad — iceberg lettuce and not much else. The grilled beef sandwich and salad plate has enough food for two lunches. I found the workers(owners?) very friendly and easy to talk with. Be aware that it’s not MCD fast… the meat for the sandwiches is grilled fresh and takes awhile to cook. You can watch them make your falafel — terrific!

Ordered chicken kebabs with rice. Was very good. Only downside was the service(not friendly) and long wait(took 20 minutes?!) I’d suggest calling ahead and just doing takeout. There was no where to sit. But in that neighborhood it’s a great option since the other stuff is all fast food garbage, worth the wait.

I called ahead to make sure our order would be ready and they said yes 15 – 20 min, we arrived about 20 min later at the window and they said will you wait? Was confused but ok and 15 – 20 min later the order was ready :(had the whole family(6 of us with young kids) Ordered family combo that came with lots of chicken(12 mix and 6 tenders) a good amount of fries and 6 biscuits Plus the Greek salad Food value and taste was good, if I didn’t have to wait would have given 4 stars

I was working in Worcester and looking for dinner after a long work day. This place was fairly close to the hotel I was staying at and my associate found this restaurant on Trip Advisor with many favorable reviews. Our experience was not good at all. The chicken shawarma was dry, the pita stale and the salad was drenched in dressing and the freshness was suspect. In addition to the staff who seemed to be either new or poorly trained there was the young lady who waited on us and said it was her first day there as she works for the owner in there other place which is a coffee shop. She came out after a few minutes to ask if we would mind having French Fries instead of the rice we ordered because they didn’t have any prepared and«it would be a long time until it was ready»… mind you it’s @ 6:00 …no rice at a Mediterranean restaurant and we were the only patrons sitting down in the restaurant. Disappointing … the fact it had a drive thru and was a former Dunkin Donuts should have been our first warning sign. I don’t get why anyone has given this place more than 2 stars. though I have read in other reviews how inconsistent they are… maybe the kebabs are better and we can’t speak for the rice as we didn’t get any. Try Shiraz the Armenian place on Park Avenue it was better…

Agreeing with another reviewer. The place is a hit or miss. I ordered chicken shawarma and beef shawarma, the beef shawarma was just lettuce and bread with like 2 pieces of beef in there. The chicken shawarma had decent filling but the pita were rubbery. 16 $ for 2 sandwiches is a lot. I mentioned the prices were different online on which the woman said that we never updated the website. Asked if they have a take home menu, which obviously they did not have. Finally I thought let’s just pay and get out of here and the lady took another 5 min to find a pen so I can sign the receipt. First and last visit to this place. There are no Halal signs anywhere in restaurant or online but they giver verbal assurance that they are halal which I still doubt.

Absolutely delicious! We had beef schwarma, and the falafel combos. The beef was very well seasoned and the sandwich had some hummus and some salad. My friends had the falafel combos. Keep in kind that the sanwiches and combos have gone up by one dollar, but they didn’t put it on the wall menu. It’s on a paper plate. Although that was a surprise I would say: Yummy! Didn’t take too long, but we were the only ones.

Fast food Mediterranean food– — exactly what you would expect– — except for the fried chicken and wings on the other side of the counter, but over all, the good is solid and the price is just right for what you get. I love the chicken and the beef platters.

Just met my husband here for lunch and was honestly blown away. I was apathetic about trying it – it looks kind of cheesy, and honestly the mention of fried chicken had me confused. What was this place?! Well.thanks again, Unilocal! The food was great! I had the falafel combo, he had a beef shawarma sandwich. It was. Some of the best falafel I’ve had and his sandwich was great! Many of the items are made fresh there and it shows – very high quality. As previous reviewers mentioned, you will wait because they’re cooking on demand – don’t expect a super quick meal. They offer free delivery to our house for orders over $ 25, and we will be taking advantage, surely! For dine in its pretty small, but there are a few tables. More of a takeout joint, though.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, I go to school at Quinsig across the street and I’ve been curious since seeing the ‘Coming Soon’ banner a few months ago. I finally got my chance a couple weeks ago. My first impressions were good, while small the interior was very bright and clean. There were lots of already prepared foods already on display and all of the people working were neat and very friendly. They were more then happy to answer any questions I had about the place. There was only a couple small tables and a counter with stools available for seating but this seems to be very much a takeout place as opposed to an eat in so I cant fault them for that. The building is really too small to accommodate a big dining area. While waiting for my order I tried some of their freshly made pita chips they had for sample by the register. Now I really don’t like Pita chips but let me tell you these things were AMAZING. Thin and super crispy and seasoned really nicely… they made me rethink my opinion of pita chips entirely. Now onto the food! I ordered a Chicken Shawarma sandwich. I’ve never had shawarma before this so I can’t really compare but this was quite honestly FABULOUS. The seasoning on the chicken was delicious. I could have eaten like five of them. I also ordered broccoli cheese balls which were nothing ASTOUNDING but still quite good. On the way out I ordered some pita chips to go and some of their cucumber yogurt which made a delicious dipping sauce for the chips. Just about the only thing that baffles me about golden pita grill was the fried chicken… Not really sure why that’s there, it’s not Mediterranean cuisine. Also I’m sure they probably would have more room and counter space without that additional display.

I originally wrote this for Google a few weeks ago but it still applies. I’ve been back since this first review and I will definitely be back again. This place has just opened — a soft-open before the official grand opening — and I’ve been in twice. The food is fantastic and a very welcome break from the fast food places in the neighborhood. And they have a number of great vegetarian options — which is nice as my wife is vegetarian. In addition to the great food the staff are all friendly and personable and were happy to talk with new customers and accept feedback as they work out the ‘just opened’ kinks. This is definitely a place I’ll be returning to.
