Love the food! We drove an hour and half to have lunch here and we will be happy to drive it again and again! Also, the waitress was so kind and knowledgeable!

Absolutely delicious! My mother in law kept insisting that she take me to this restaurant as well as the gift shop, and was shocked that I’ve lived my whole life in the Ashland area and never been. Best decision ever! Everything was so good and fresh and well prepared. This is a perfect spot for an upscale lunch! The French onion soup and lemon muffins were to die for! Will definitely be back multiple times a year!

Delicious meal of French onion soup and the Johnny Apple Salad. Loved the soup, it really was some of the best I’ve ever had. The salad had ham, cheese, apples, cranberries and a few other things — not an item I’d usually select but a friend said it was amazing and she was right. You get a choice of bread with your meal and the lemon muffin was a great choice and served as my dessert! So many good menu options. I want to go back and try other items.

I was so happy to find Marie’s Pesto Chicken on the menu. My favorite! This is one of Wooster’s high end places to eat. Their chef was trained in France.

A great Ladies day! Three floors of home furnishings, cute gifts, and clothing. A woman’s dream! Lunch was awesome overlooking the beautiful and luscious scenery. The lemon muffins are good, but the raspberry muffins are exceptional! Staff is not that friendly and really stuffy. Seems like every staff member I asked a question to about their merchandise, no one had an answer. Very disappointing because they could have made a sale. Afterwards, JAFB Brewing in the Downtown area of Wooster is a MUST! The Columbian Coffee Porter is out of this world. If you like Willoughby Brewing Company’s Peanut Butter Cup Coffee Porter, you will absolutely LOVE this even better! Brewed with real Columbian coffee. Also, there is a really good restaurant/bar called City Square Steakhouse, not too far away in the downtown area of Wooster. Cozy atmosphere and great food!!!

Mmmm! The Pine Tree Barn is one of my all time favorite places to eat. They have lots of great little gems on their menu: lemon muffins, French onion soup, fresh garden salad with bean sprouts, and their quiche is ALWAYS delicious! They have a great raspberry tea that my mom loves, and a chai tea(hot OR cold; both great!) that I always order. There’s a beautiful view from their balcony, I recommend sitting outside when the weather permits!

We are local, but had never eaten here before. We were pleasantly surprised and will be back again. The view and the deck would be wonderful in better weather. The food was very good and they have good kids meals for $ 5! They have a wine list that is very limited. We did not partake. For excellent food in the wooster area, this should be on your list to visit.

Solid food, very freshly made, loved the patio view, cute boutique downstairs, ambiance was casual but very welcoming… enjoyed the simple but great options… tried the lemonade infused with green tea or mint… amazingly refreshing. I also opted for the quiche which was delicious!!! I hope to return before winter… although I saw a few christmas trees starting to grown already! Our server was very thoughtful. We will be back!

We decided to go here for lunch today while on a scenic drive through Amish country. The pluses: the incredible view and a nice, intimate ambience. The minuses: a lot of the food seemed pre-made. There’s nothing wrong with that, but when a place advertised itself as having«gourmet fare,» I expect a little bit more. I had the chicken and pesto pasta, and the chicken tasted like it had been cooked several days before, kept in the refrigerator, and then heated up in the microwave. My husband thought his sandwich had been pre-made and kept in a cooler for a while, as well. The iced tea was clearly Lipton’s from the large plastic jugs, and it was questionable whether the pie was lackluster homemade pie or something from Sara Lee or Marie Callendar. Definitely, though, the«whipped cream» it was served with was Cool Whip or some other kind of artificial whipped topping. If you’re looking for a quaint place to eat lunch with a «tea room» vibe, this is a nice place to go. But if you’re expecting truly gourmet food, look elsewhere.

My daughter and I love Pine Tree Barn! It is worth the one hour drive to get there! The food is excellent — especially those wonderful lemon muffins — and we enjoy browsing through their crafty shops.

The outdoor seating, view and atmosphere make this one of the must– see places for those near Wooster and their out of town guests. It’s so unexpected and pleasantly surprising that you forget about the food. Not that you should — that was good too :) Although I notice Unilocal has this classified«Pizza, Italian» which it is not. It is classic«ladies who lunch» fare.

This place used to have deliciously delightful pasta dishes but be warned they recently changed their menu to nonsense food like quiches and whoile wheat bagel sandwiches. I asked the waitress about the change and she was all top secret like the menu was on par with the coca cola recipe.

This place has some great gems like their lemon muffins and their steak panini sandwich with spinach and feta. What is disappointing is that their portion sizes have shrunk with rising food prices. They also have extremely slow service. Plan on having time set aside for a very long lunch. Oh that reminds me, they don’t have dinner service, so don’t plan to eat dinner there. The portion sizes are ridiculous for the prices. The steak panini sandwich is delicious, but it’s the size of an audio cassette tape – 5 bites and it’s gone. It comes with a small cup of soup and costs almost $ 10. For me, that’s a bit pricey for a lunch. I ordered some chicken, curry and rice soup. It was very disappointing. It tasted homemade, but not in the good homemade kind of way. It was just bland and boring. If you haven’t been there, you need to go one time to see all of the cool things, at the store. Make sure you pick up a lemon muffin. Yummy! One last thing, although it is really cool inside, it gets very loud when it’s busy.

Just recently took a friend there for lunch. It had been several months since I was last there and I noticed portion size had changed and prices up somewhat from before. I ordered the chicken salad and fruit and it came on a small plate with a scoop of chicken salad and some fruit around it.(not much) I did not have any chicken in the chicken salad and it tasted like I was eating a dessert with cool whip. Too sweet. After saying something the waitress brought me more with chicken in it. If you like traditional chicken salad, skip theirs. Shops, atmosphere and the view are worth the trip. Sit on the deck.

I hate to be the one who drops the rating on this place, but I just don’t see it. The black bean soup was alright, but was just missing that kick. The sandwich I had was good, but nothing special. My girlfriend ordered the«tomato and basil» pizza. Being a vegetarian, this worked out great. When the pizza came, it looked delicious, but it contained ham. Why would you leave this ingredient out of the pizza description? That’s just crazy. The pizzas are pre-made, so no pizza for you, veggie. The staff was friendly and did end up accommodating us, but it’s as if they never had met a vegetarian(despite our waitress being one).

Pine tree barn is to country crafts and furnishing as Times Square s to flashy lights and busy people. Seriously, there is not one extra square molecule of space in this place. But it’s all pretty attractive tasteful stuff. The food is good too, just not good for you. So tread lightly, or plan to go on a «cheat day» if you’re on a diet.
