This is the place where my father and I get our haircuts. This place was recommended by one of my father’s colleges as it was close to his former company at 58th St. We have become friends with the owner and the hairdressers, where we always have a good talk, especially about swimming.

Ive been to this place a while back, and the way they cut my hair was so bad and very uneven. I do not recommend this place, horrible service.

Hack job. I thought I would give it a shot given some positive reviews here on Unilocal.I am already sitting at a different hair salon(my usual place) to do damage control. Should I post a photo of this butchering? I know it would be entertaining. Completely uneven, far too short and in the wrong places. It didn’t seem like the guy(middle aged Asian or South Asian guy) who cut my hair had any training at all. I had even shown him a photo of the style I wanted, but it didn’t matter. He clearly didn’t understand the type of angle cut and/or thinning needed for that haircut. By the time I realized how badly he was doing, it was too late. He had taken chunks out of the most critical places. When I expressed some mild concern about it being very short he said it was what I had wanted. He then proceeded to gabber with his co-worker in some other language which and his tone sounded like he was talking about me. He knew I was unhappy. At the end he offered to cut it even shorter(he was messing with me), as well as up-sell me into a shampoo. What? I let him«finish» then up and left.

Man… SUPERCHEAPHAIRCUTS($ 8, not including tip) and they do a better job than most of the $ 18 places in Manhattan. And a bonus: they know how to cut Asian hair! If you wanna go a little fancier, for $ 10, you can get a haircut and they’ll wash your head for you afterwards so you can avoid molting everywhere until your next shower. It looks pretty gawdy from the outside, but don’t be afraid and just roll up through the door and tell them you want a cut and wait on the bench. Most of the staff speak Chinese with some English, so you’re not lost if you’re not from the neighborhood. Have come back a couple times already, and coming back again for sure. Also a great excuse to come visit this part of Queens and try some great food around the area. In particular, I highly recommend Sri Pai Pai, some delicious Thai food there!

Always love getting my hair cut and color here. VERYCHEAP. $ 10 hair cut with wash. $ 35 color with styling it. Always get my hair straightened after it’s but for no extra charge. I just show them the picture of the hair or color I want and they match it! Beats going to the city to get my hair done. The guy who cuts my hair speaks and understands English, but other than that, you’re not going to have a conversation with your stylist because they’re so concentrated. ** They have a new, much nicer location on Roosevelt Ave near Woodside Ave!

$ 10.00 for a haircut with a wash. I’m giving this place 5 stars because the owner knows how to cut hair. His name is Kenny and make sure you get him if you’re a male planning to get a haircut. You just need to explain to him what you want intricately and you will be fine. He doesn’t trim too short and he knows how to layer hair as well. I’ve been coming to him for years and he’s always done a great job with every hairstyle I got from fades, tape ups, fauxhawks, mohawks and when I had my embarassing bowl cut. Over 10 years coming here and he has never disappointed.

Love this place. $ 10 haircut, WITH A WASH! You can’t beat that, except in China! Yes, sometimes they cut it too short and make you look like a triad or member of the Green Gang. You really have to emphasize with gestures that you don’t want it too short. I think they speak cantonese, but I’m going to try this Mandarin out: «Wo bu yao tai duan.» «I don’t want it too short.»

It’s a really inexpensive, fairly fast haircut. Don’t expect to have a conversation in English with your stylist, and don’t expect the hair cutting tools to be steeped in whatever that solution is that some other places steep their scissors and combs and stuff. I get an EXCELLENT haircut about 1⁄3 of the times I go there, but the other 2⁄3 of the time, it’s a little short(even though I just ask for a little trim). I will keep going back, though, because even when they cut it too short, they do a decent job, and because it’s $ 8 before tip. Can’t argue with that.
