The white chocolate coconut bundt cake is THE BEST EVER! I heard about Doans coconut cake from the Jimmy Kimmel show– he and Kirsten Durst were going on and on about how Tom Cruise has it sent to them annually. You could just tell from the way they were both describing the cake that it was something special, and, I know Jimmy is a foodie so I value his opinion especially. Well, the cake is beyond delicious! Do yourself a favor and try it, you won’t be sorry!

I dont go to often but its delicious… they have a pineapple cupcake/​muffin its amazing especially warm on Saturday mornings. The lady there guessing shes the owner so sweet. Everthing I have tried is delicious.

We used Doans for our son’s wedding as he wanted the coconut White Chocolate famous cake that only Doans does! It was lovely and delicious — I put white flowers on top and it was perfect. We have used them several times for parties and everything tasted homemade — like it came from your loving hands. Real ingredients and real quality. It tastes so satisfying you only want a half piece. But — I kid you not, we then fight over the frosting.

Amazing bakery. Every item is a culinary art piece. Karen and Eric have created a comfortable environment where you can enjoy a gourmet coffee and a delicious pastry.

I can’t comment on the taste of the food or coffee, because we were never served. My two daughters and I stopped in this morning. I was excited because we’ve only lived in WH for a few months and I’ve been looking for a great spot for coffee/​goodies. The place was packed which, at first, I took as a good sign. We waited patiently as one of the women working dealt with an in-​store cake order. The other woman was taking coffee orders. She politely engaged us in conversation for a few sentences, at one point. But, we stood at the front of the line for 15 minutes as the first woman continued to ignore us and the second woman kept calling people she clearly knew from the back of the line and taking their order ahead of us with no explanation! We just kept getting scooted for people she knew by name. We turned around and walked out. Nobody attempted to stop us, apologize or assist us in any way (and we didn’t hurry out, I have one leg in a cast). It’s probably a great place if you know them, but we were completely invisible… at the front of the line. I never return to places when I feel disrespected or unappreciated. Will def be looking for more welcoming (to everyone) coffee shops in WH!

The best cake I have ever had in my life. For a family party over Mother’s Day weekend, we had two cakes from Doan’s. After hearing numerous people rave about this place, I was excited to try. We had the Lemon Raspberry cake and the Coconut cake. They were both so so soooooo good! The cakes were huge — we had to cut them in half horizontally and the slices still came out huge. They were also very reasonably priced for the quality and how large the cakes were. I preferred the Lemon Raspberry one a little more because it was more tart than sweet, which I liked. The frosting was amazing, considering I’m someone who usually refuses to eat frosting. The Coconut cake was also really good, it was just too sweet for me. The flavor was amazing. I cannot wait to order more cakes from here!

This is the BEST bakery in all of Woodland hills… The staff is Amazing, sweet and talented! They are the best part of my day!!!

Every one raved about the wedding cake Doans baked for our wedding this past weekend.
The whole process of ordering our cake and having it delivered couldn’t have been any easier. We started with a cake tasting. And once we tried their signature white chocolate coconut cake, we were sold! Although it was a tough decision, because all their cakes and frosting’s were absolutely delicious.
Our wedding was on a Sunday, which Doans is usually closed, but that was no problem! They were kind enough to still make sure we had our cake on the wedding day. Which was even lovelier than it tasted. Marina created the «naked cake» look we were going for and it couldn’t have been any more perfect. Thank you Doans!

Funnest bakery you will ever visit. Karen is a sweetheart. The baked goods are wonderful!!! Drove two hours to get here. Will do it again

The staff is so friendly. Their cappuccinos are splendid and the baked treats are awesome! They have unique and delectable goodies and everything for your next event!

Ever since Doan’s Bakery made their debut on KTLA 5, I have been trying to make time to go. I went & saw the OPEN sign & was excited there was parking in front of the store. I approached the door, pulled & the door was locked. As I made my way back to my car, I looked back to see the owner unlocking the door. She came up to my car & asked if we wanted to come in… Of course I said YES! The sweetest, kindest lady in the world, let us come in after hours & see what she had left. At this point I was willing to buy anything she had… Luckily she had some cupcakes, muffins & the infamous cinnamon rolls. We decided to take home white chocolate coconut, chocolate & vanilla cupcake along with the cinnamon rolls. She shared her stories of her crazy week after airing on TV. She wished us a great day & hope to enjoy the goodies. My husband is not easy to please when it comes to desserts but he was speechless when it came to his first bite. I had a taste of the white chocolate coconut cupcake & it was DELICIOUS! Thank you Ms. Karen, it was a pleasure to meet you! We will definitely be back! Looking forward to the cinnamon rolls for breakfast tomorrow!

If you haven’t stopped by Doan’s lately — YOU have to! First of all Kirsten Dunst the actress was on the Graham Norton Show this week and mentioned how much she LOVES Doans’ white chocolate coconut cake! So cool, considering she lives in the US but she was in London for this interview! I went by today and even though it was miserable outside, I went in for one of my favorite desserts — the coconut cake — and I got the best and biggest smile from Karen and her team. We are so lucky to have a neighborhood business that loves their customers, neighbors and friends. Go to Doans when they open next on Monday and buy a sweet and have a wonderful experience!

I’m going to preface this review by saying that we’ve used this bakery in the past, and the service has been exceptional. However, our recent experience with the owner will truly be our last!!! We walked in on a Wednesday afternoon to order a simple birthday cake for our eight year old daughter who’s birthday is Saturday; three days out. The owner immediately replied in utter disgust, «Why do u people always wait until the last minute to order a cake.»
My wife who knows the owner could not believe her comment. Furthermore, the owner went on to belittle my wife in front of our daughter. My wife politely walked out and went straight to the «The Baker» where they treated her professionally and took the order with no issues. In fact, they even offered to have the cake ready a day early. Stay away from Doan’s, go to the Baker instead…

Go here NOT Starbucks. Very nice desserts and coffees. Good prices and product. Gotta support local!

The goodies here are incredible. Ordered a chocolate cake for a dinner party at noon on a Saturday and it was ready at 2pm. It was best chocolate cake we’ve ever tasted. Our guests went crazy over it, they could stop saying how it was the best chocolate cake they had ever eaten.

Karen the owner is awesome and a fabulous baker. Everything she bakes is so tasty! The coconut choc chip muffins are fantastic and the raspberry cookies… oohhhhh!

I was on the way to meet with a client and stopped in because Doan’s is close to my house. I love to take a treat to every meeting I go to, and when I heard online somewhere that this particular bakery makes AMAZING cakes, I thought this would be a good chance to try one.
I picked up the white chocolate coconut bundt cake for them and a mini one to take home to my hubby so we could try a bite. Fantastic! (I was also eying a lemon looking cupcake, which now I know I’ll have to stop back by to try!)
Karen is the most lovely lady I’ve met in a long while. It’s obvious she loves her bakery and everyone that steps in the door. You instantly feel like family when you visit her shop. I’ve been to a lot of local businesses, but really have not been to one I’ve liked as much in a LONG time. I know that I’ll be back again, not only to treat my clients, but for my own family.

When you arrive, take your time and look over everything… there’s so much good stuff, it’s hard to choose!
They get very busy on the weekends, so plan on staying a little while. :)
If you need a custom cake decorated from their AMAZING designer, they suggest a week’s notice if possible.
Holidays are especially hectic, so order ahead of time and save a headache-​or missing out on your crowning glory for that holiday meal.
They are open Thanksgiving Thursday morning for a few hours just for pickup!!!

I had to write a review about this place– I was freaking out trying to get a cake in time for someone’s birthday (not the first time this has happened to me). My usual go-​to girl was going to be out of commission for months. I called another place (Hansen’s Bakery) but they were being a little snooty and said they could only make a huge cake that would cost me $ 800 when all I wanted was a cake to feed 15 – 20 people!
So my friend recommended I check with Doans. I’ve ordered their white chocolate coconut cake before which is absolutely amazing!!! But I had no idea they would do custom cakes.
Their cake decorator was really busy the week I needed my cake but she said she would do a nice Chanel themed cake for me. She worked over her weekend and the result was beautiful! (unfortunately we ate it before I thought of getting a picture– but she was able to make a very nice purse with lipsticks and other make up. It looked great and I really appreciated that they made it happen despite my late ordering and lavish tastes for cake!!!
