I’m surely not the first person to discover the brilliance of Dan’s Super Subs. I know this for two reasons: the amount of five-star reviews that they have on Unilocal and the amount of people that consistently pack into this small sub shop every day(except Sunday, when they are closed). My father introduced my family to Dan’s way back in the day, and we have probably eaten 100 subs each over the years. They even have 6-foot-long sandwiches that they make for Super Bowl Sunday parties, which we have done a few times in the past. The menu at Dan’s is massive, with sandwiches ranging from the simple turkey and cheese to the classic meatball sandwich to the flavorful L.A. Street Pastrami. The sandwiches range from about $ 7 – 10 for a regular size(7 inches) and then $ 9 – 12 for a jumbo(13 inches). Whenever I visit Dan’s, I tend to order one of their specialty sandwiches. The L.A. Street Pastrami is literally one of the most flavorful sandwiches I have ever tasted in my life, and whenever I can’t make up my mind on trying a new sandwich, I always resort back to it. The pastrami is very juicy and flavorful, and the addition of bacon gives it a nice salty note. The lettuce and tomato do an excellent job of cutting the saltiness and the fattiness of the sandwich. The spicy baja sauce that comes on the sub is ridiculous! Some of the other subs that I’ve ordered in the past are the Captain Morgan, which is an amazing Tuna Salad Sandwich that also has bacon on it, and the Gladiator, which is a massive sandwich that comes with everything but the kitchen sink, including five or six different meats. I could go on and on about all of the wonderful sandwiches at Dan’s Super Subs, but I’d be writing for hours. Instead I’ll stop here and leave you with this: if you somehow haven’t been to Dan’s Super Subs yet, please do yourself a favor and taste one of the best sandwiches in the valley, if not all of L.A. I will say that Cavaretta’s comes pretty close, but nothing I’ve tried yet has reached the level of deliciousness as Dan’s Super Subs.

I want to preface this review by saying I love the subs from this place. I order them regularly at my workplace for myself and coworkers. We have never had any complaints. Today, however, I ordered 9 sandwiches online at 11:46am. Quoted delivery time was 45 – 60 minutes. It took an hour and 45 minutes to arrive. Nine teachers did not get lunch today until after lunch was over. I called to ask if anything had happened to my order, and they said they were very busy today and that if I wanted my food by a certain time, I should have said that my order was time sensitive. Regardless of whether or not my order was time sensitive(aren’t all food orders time sensitive?), an hour and 45 minute delivery to go 1.8 miles is completely unacceptable. Also, the way they handled my complaint was unprofessional. I barely got an apology. It was somehow MY fault, because I didn’t tell them I needed it by a certain time. My food was(as always) delicious, but I’m still left with a bad taste in my mouth…

Hellz to the yes in my mouth! I was looking for a place that made good sandwiches after I was finished with some business in Woodland Hills and came up on Dan’s. I ordered the«Mamma Mia» with extra avocado spread and oh my god was it a huge sandwich. I brought it home and ate it and was in sandwich heaven! So much meat on that thing. They are very generous with their portions so even the regular size will feed two people. They also have this sandwich eating challenge that seems impossible but I’m sure there have been people that finished it. The guy at the register is pretty cool and they made my sandwich super fast. I came around 6:15ish on a Wednesday and there wasn’t a line. I’ll come here again and try different sandwiches and update my review.

The best sandwich shop I’ve ever been to. Terrible parking, small on the inside, but it’s worth it. LA Street pastrami is seriously great.

Best Damn Subs in Town! Literally for two months straight I came here almost everyday for a hot turkey sub. I participated in their food challenge and won a t-shirt, what’s not to love. It’s a must try in the valley for sure. Maybe you’ll see me sitting there enjoying a hot turkey and a peach Snapple.

Had to come here to see what all the hype was about and oh my god, soooo much yes!!! I ordered a MAMMAMIA, it was hands down the best sandwich I’ve ever had. So much flavor. All the meats were delicious. By far the best. I always love a good Italian, this was way out of the park! We also ordered a LA pastrami cause everyone raves about it and now I know why; it was amazing! It was spicy and had so much flavor in every bite. You can also order online and pick up to avoid the crowd!

Great sub shop. Lots of varieties. Top notch meats and fixins. Has the LA and girlfriend had sweet Caroline. Both were amazing and extremely flavorful. Staff was awesome. I just beat the lunch crowd. The line was out the door around 11:45am. Plan accordingly. People you will not be disappointed.

Finally went here after living in the valley for 6 years and hearing about this place I wish I could give it 3 ½ stars. Unilocal, why haven’t you created this feature yet! The sandwiches are good but nothing to rave about. I tried the sweet Caroline turkey, buffalo chicken and the pastrami. All of them were decent sandwiches. Maybe my expectations were too high? The ingredients did taste very fresh. Probably would not return since the sandwiches are on the pricier side for the valley and I can make a better one at home. Would rather go to Bay Cities in Santa Monica or Portos bakery for an awesome sandwich.

I had my first sub today and I have found a new weekly addiction. The sandwiches are HUGE and they don’t skimp on any of the toppings. I went with an 8″ Sweet Caroline on the Italian white roll. I’m not too picky with food, so i got everything on it and it was very good. The turkey is fresh, the bread tastes homemade and very fresh, the honey mustard was amazing and the side order of macaroni salad was the perfect. Ill be back soon to try more of the menu

They have yummy subs that are fresh! The bread is soft, and they have a huge menu to choose from. My favorite sandwich to get is the peppered turkey with avocado added, and I eat it with their yummy italian dressing and spicy sauce that are available. The sizes are larger than normal, so a small is plenty for 1 person in my opinion. The place is kinda tight, and it does get busy. The parking is kinda bad too, especially during food rush hour. If you are a sandwich lover tho, do try this place!

SAVAGEEEE!!! I have to note one thing before i start my short review. I went through previous reviews and had a little smirk reading other Unilocal reviews/owner comments! To be honest i loved them :) i think the owner is passionate about his business and keeps it 100!!! That is rare nowadays. Onto my review. Did a order of their famous L.A. pastrami sandwich and was pleased. The pickles added a nice crunch. The meat/ingredient/bread ratio was on point. Note: They get super busy, thankfully they have multiple order systems set in place! So order your sub and pay for it ahead of time! That way all you have to worry about is pick up. Service: Im not at a 5 star steak house so i don’t demand to be treated like royalty. But a simple hello, how can i help you? would be nice. I guess you need to make ur presence noticed when you approach the counter. Even though the employee is right in front of you. Parking: Be prepared, and make sure to meditate before arriving here. You will need patience to find parking, and even after finding parking in the tight lot next door. You need driving skills to back out of it onto Ventura Blvd. –Seating indoors/outdoors –A lot of options on their menu so zoom through before going. Looking forward to trying. Endless Summer or Mama Mia: D

I love Dan’s super subs, have tried a few of their subs and have not yet been disappointed! I like this place so much I even ordered food for my job since we get catering every other week, and my co-workers love it also! My favorite is the L. A street pastrami :)

What is wrong with me??? I’ve lived in this neighborhood and never reviewed Dans?!? Shame on me! Want a great quality sub stuffed with meat and huge portion of toppings? Come to Dans for one of the better Subs in So Cal. At Dans, they steam the bread which gives a squishy feel to the bread but tastes really good! I’ve tried various subs and found a killer on in the BBQ brisket Sub with cheddar cheese. It’s my favorite & I crave it from time to time. That sandwich is. 5 out of 5! The rest of the subs are good, really good but I think overall, the parking really effects my rating. They essential don’t have parking lol. Regardless, a 4 out of 5 is still a good review and I will obviously come Back!

Great lunch stop. I got their basic turkey and cheese sub and it was very fresh. The meat was fresh. The bread was not stale. The pickles were crispy and flavorful. The cashier was friendly and there was music playing at just the right volume and it wasn’t an annoyance like with loud pop songs at most restaurants. The portion size was large and the price was fair for the amount of food. I recommend this neat stop for anyone in the area.

Came here to check out what this sub place is all about. Ordered the Locomotion chicken sub, 13 inch for $ 12.05(with taxes), if you use Unilocal coupon! Parking was difficult to find but I found one along the street, it’s metered parking though. The store has a parking lot but only fits 5 – 6 cars, ugh! I want to come back to try the LA Street pastrami next time! :)

The Meateater BF wanted to stop here for what he considered one of the best sandwich places, with one of the worst parking situations, ever. But despite the crappy tiny parking spots that forces you to back out into a busy street, people still go here. So it must be good, right? I mean, there’s signed celebrity headshots on the wall. Ok ok I know, it’s LA and it’s common to see signed celebrity headshots on the walls of local businesses. But friggin’ Jesse Tyler Ferguson was literally sitting at the next table nonchalantly waiting for a sandwich. Except it wasn’t really Jesse Tyler Ferguson but somebody that looked a lot like Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Although now I’m wondering if Jesse Tyler Ferguson would eat at a place like Dan’s Super Subs. It would be cool to run into him here. Or anywhere for that matter. I’m really getting off track with this review here. Are you still reading this? I appreciate that the menu has a vegetarian and vegan section. I was curious about their Totally Vegan sandwich otherwise known as Eggplant & Avocado. However I wanted to keep it low carb. You know, because it’s LA and that’s what people in LA do. I credit the Meateater BF who dresses like he’s my personal trainer and religiously uses myfitnesspal to count calories. So I opted for a salad version of that sandwich instead. In all honesty, the thought of a salad didn’t necessarily excite me. But once I had it in front of me, I discovered it was pretty amazing. The marinated eggplant, olives, avocado, and banana peppers really enhance the flavor to the point that I didn’t even use the balsamic vinaigrette on the side. I also like that they used shredded lettuce. The portion is also pretty significant. I wasn’t initially that hungry when we stopped by so I saved it for a snack later that day and another snack the next day. I actually craved the leftovers too. Delicious! Dan’s surprised me for sure! I might have to brave the parking sitch so I can check out the sandwich version of this salad next time. #yumcarbs …and perhaps run into the real Jesse Tyler Ferguson too :)

Holy cow! This place has the best subs EVER. I don’t think you will ever be disappointed with whatever sub you order here… Lol The size of the regular 8″ sub is big enough to share for 2 and they pack it up with all of the goodies that comes with it so half of a sub will fill you up. Plus their bread is always soft and AMAZING. Ordered their Sweet Caroline and requested it hot(they usually serve it cold) and it was BOMB! For the price you pay, so well worth it.

13 inch Rocky Balboa Sub! I added some jalepenos on it to make it spicy and definitely was well worth it. Parking is tough but everything else is great. Friendly folks and quick on the sandwich even though rush hour lunch traffic. This has male sub and by that I mean if you’re a female and taking a 13 inch sub you’re either saying you don’t ever want to find a man or you’re not getting enough somewhere else ;). Aside from eating this deeeelicious sub it can be used as a weapon. If you throw it, it will definitely make a mess on someone.
