I don’t know if Mashita changed or if I changed, but this has become one of my favorite lunch spots around and by far my favorite in Woodburn. It is slow-food quality at fast-food prices. The loud guy is still there but he has grown on me. He reminds me of a Latino Ed Sullivan. The lunch special is a great price, is always excellent, and doesn’t leave me feeling guilty or with explosive diarrhea(I am looking at you, almost every other place to eat in Woodburn).

I will be boycotting this dump as long as the guy that owns it is running the front counter. I read another review that calls him odd and off putting. I would concur and add much more. I and several of my co workers would frequent this place every week or two because of the lack of selection in Woodburn. I thought maybe it was my imagination and had my co workers observe how he treated them and others to see if I was over scrutinizing. Without a doubt, they all agreed he had true disdain for me and it was obvious. He would act like a complete jerk to me and my crew, then turn bubbly and polite to other people. Then back to a jerk for others. Don’t know what his reasoning is behind it, but was going out of his way to act certain ways to certain folks. Gender, ethnicity, language, age did not matter. We all tried to reason it out and have all come to the same conclusion, we don’t get why, but the guy is an unprofessional jerk that does not deserve your business. It would be one thing if the food was so good that I’d put up with it, like the soup natzi in Seinfeld. But this food is frozen blandness that you need to drench in teriyaki and hot sauce to barely give it a pulse. The vegetables taste like bland cardboard, the rice average, the chicken can be stringy and old tasting. Pot stickers are over fried and egg rolls taste like the vegetables — bland and inedible. If you want good teriyaki or service, don’t waste your time.

The food at this little family joint is delicious! I love ordering to-go from this place when I am in town visiting family. I would suggest it for anybody. The yakisoba is great, as is the chicken teriyaki(try ordering it with double veggies and no rice!).

Nice little teriyaki joint with good food. I had chicken with spring rolls for $ 7.50. The chicken was grilled and very tasty, without a lot of fat. The rice was perfectly sticky, and spring rolls were crispy but a tad flavorless. I thought the service was totally fine but the atmosphere was admittedly lacking. It’s Woodburn though! I recommend eating here if you are in the area.

Um don’t understand why this place has 4 stars, it’s horrible! Don’t waste your time or money! The soba noodles taste like spaghetti o’s or like some kind of ketchup was on them. The vegetables tasted dirty like they weren’t washed prior to being cooked and the beef was stringy, dry, and fatty! The fried shrimp was good but only because it was frozen! Avoid this place!

It was ok. Nothing special. The veggies were like rubber and inedible though.

Excellent teriyaki and morei! You can always find really high quality fresh food at Mashita’s. The people who work here are great too. Very friendly and helpful. The place is super clean and I met the family who owns Mashita’s a few years ago. They are super nice people who give back to their community and I love what they stand for. Not to mention the fact that they make darn good food and use fresh local ingredients as much as possible. This is not your standard teriyaki joint. This place is special. So glad to see this new location in Woodburn.

Best teriyaki chicken I’ve had since my old favorite place closed down! They catered a lunch for my work, and it was delicious!
