When I was a kid I remember visiting my grandparents in Medford. Sometimes we would drive over to the Bear Creek headquarters(back then parent company of Harry and David and Jackson and Perkins) they were mostly mail order but they had a small trailer where they sold surplus out of. My memory says there was jus an aisle and stuff was on both sides. Sometimes there were plants outside. Now they have enough surplus to fill stores in just a large number of outlet malls. The stuff is the same, just more different things at a time. There are also items always in stock. That wasn’t the case when I was a kid.(by the way they the trailer is gone but not to far away is a «Country Store selling goods at high prices.) I still like their food mostly, the fruit is high price but is always of the best quality. The cherry chocolates are delicious. I have never been a fan of their truffles(you can buy much better for less money at See’s and other places). So why five stars? well the food is good, there are always samples, They usually have their pears which is so good they built the company on them. Most importantly, + one star. it reminds me of my Grandmother… so five stars from me. Tip they can ship their stuff about anywhere.

I think that the prices are way above what you get. I love imported chocolates, but my wife likes Harry and David’s chocolates from time to time, so I pay – and pay. But overall, I’m happy(she’s happy) with what we get. Recently, I had a Unilocal voucher for a free truffle. It was way out of date :(but the employee at the counter gave us truffles anyway. Wahoo! :)

Basically, I want to eat all the things here. Employees and kind and encourage you to do so by handing out sample treats. The chocolate covered cherries are my all time hands down favorite, so if you are in the market for a gift… for me… you know where to go. Moose much is great too!

WARNING: Don’t come in here if you’re hungry, snack central of all the goodies you really shouldn’t eat but want. Anyways, I love coming in this store, I wish they carried their pears which are super delicious. This place is great for their gift baskets. You can even create your own gift basket.

Quick stop to pick up chocolates. Nice cashier – was offered a yogurt covered pretzel(typical, nothing special). There was B3GO July 4th special so I bought some assorted chocolates for $ 12.95 a box, pricey but as gifts I guess it’s reasonable.

When you are tired from browsing shops at the Woodburn Outlets, make sure you stop in here. They have the friendliest staff and always offer a number of tasty samples, including coffee. I’ve been a huge H&D fan for years. My husband is addicted to their Moose Munch(popcorn covered with butter toffee and chocolate with nuts mixed in). In fact, they even have Moose Munch flavored coffee. Dangerous business. My current fave product is their Pepper and Onion Relish. It even came with a recipe card and 12 suggestions about how to use the product. Nice way to nudge me out of my standard recipe rut. They are probably best known for their gift towers( ) and it is a nice way to send a little bit of Oregon to those relatives or clients across the country. Since this location is an outlet, they have a clearance section in back where you can score some good stuff at a discount as well.

Well, I’m just that crazy. I went to the one in Troutdale and then a day later I was at the one in Woodburn. I bought some chips and salsa here that I really liked and of course I had to get more as I was on my way to the tulip festival. The prices are still a bit much but the quality is there so you cannot beat that. This particular store had a great after Easter special on some stuffed animals that I thought would make some nice gifts.
