Small, quiet little nature preserve. I’ve come here on several occasions and have rarely seen other people. The less-than 2 miles of walking trails are often muddy, and most of the paths are only as wide as the two boards laid across the dirt. The view of the wetlands provides a nice place to spot egrets and blue herons, and I have also come across crayfish and a black snake. If you want a longer hike, follow the trail that heads east from the parking lot, which eventually crosses Neabsco Road and meet up with the Potomac Heritage Trail(climb stairs that are at a diagonal to the crosswalk), which winds through Leesylvania State Park.
