Local neighborhood pizza joint with pizza that was meh. I stopped into this place, when I noticed a deal posted on the front door. 1 slice and a soda for $ 2. Not too bad. I asked how much a slice was and with tax it was $ 1.87. So I figured their deal was the way to go. For an additional $.13, I’d get a soda. The pizza tasted OK, although it was probably sitting out for a while. It was a bit on the crunchy side, but the sauce and cheese tasted alright. There’s a few tables you can sit at and the service was pretty quick.

Wack juice. The pizza sauce is a bit sweet. The cheese is good. The crust is twice the thickness that I prefer(plain slice). The dining area is old and grimy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for old school, but at least try to keep it looking clean. If the slice had any crunch to it, I’d consider making a return trip. But that would be like making a return trip to Heights Pizzeria. And that ain’t happening…

I’ve only ordered here for take out, can’t comment on the ambiance. I really like their fried calamari, it may look too perfect(the batter is very flat not rigid at all like Tempura), but it’s never chewy and even to go, still crunchy. The sauce they use is sweet and chunky, make it hot… adds a great kick. The pizza, I wasn’t really a fan of the plain, the sauce is a little on the sweet side for pizza, but the crust was crispy with the right amount of chew. I prefer their white pie with ricotta, mozzarella & spinach. They steam the spinach before cooking it which still give it a nice spinachy taste. It could be good if they sauteed it lightly in garlic, then placed it on the pizza. It’s not the best pizza in the world, but being in a 1 square mile town, with 9 restaurants — 5 being pizzerias, they seem to hold their own pretty well. The prices are good, the service is friendly, and the food is quality.

Next to Pizza town USA(see review) they have the best calzones on the planet. My best friend and I used to have our Saturday afternoon ritual of ordering 1 large calzone from here(It is easily a foot long) and playing Madden football on Playstation(Ah memories LOL but I digress) Anyway, back to the food. The calzone is amazing. It literally explodes with ham and cheese and we could barely finish.(And believe me when I tell you, we were both once really overweight and could eat a lot) The dough is one of the best I have had on any calzone and the marinara sauce on the side is quite good. Their sandwiches are equally impressive. I have had their cheese steaks on several occasions and they were very good. They pile high Lots of cheese and meat on fresh bread. It’s not Pat’s king of steak in Philly(But then again nothing is) but it’s pretty damn good Their meatball sub is equally good. They put a lot of cheese on it and the meatballs are tasty. Not the best I’ve had(mine are better to be honest with you) but very good. I have only had their pizza once and while good does not compete with their calzones and sandwiches which to be honest I would give 6 stars. I would give this place 4 and a half stars if I could.(WOULD UnilocalPLEASEALLOW ½ STARSONTHEIRREVIEWS) but the calzones and sandwiches are so good that it bumps it up to 5 stars and they are very customer friendly. It falls in the top 1% of pizzerias I have been to so it gets 5 stars. Get the calzone and you will be hooked!
