The food was pretty good and cheap. The waitress is awful so rude. Order the frappé and she will yell at you. They weren’t even that good. Go if you want your food served with a side of attitude.

The food is average. Things you’d find in any Diner across America. Nothing on the menu is above average. Neither is the staff. While they are quietly polite, they aren’t friendly. They all seem bored & annoyed to be there. I didn’t see any of them smile during my 45 minute meal. I’d like to say this is a one time thing, but I’ve come here maybe 2 – 3 times each summer since it has been open and I’ve gotten the same lazy/bored service-without-a-smile each time. Unfortunately in Wolfeboro there aren’t any other breakfast type places, otherwise I’d take my business elsewhere.

Very good local eatery for a hearty breakfast. My lobstahh Benedict was delicious and my hubby’s french toast was light and tasty. The owner is quite hardworking too — waitress, cashier, AND cook. Impressive indeed. Great location, as you can walk around, visit the local shops, and burn off some that hearty food.

While the waitresses were extremely polite, they were quite forgetful and we had the repeatedly remind them to bring things. The food was unremarkable. The hash was bland and the corned beef clearly came from a can. If you’re on a budget and want a simple no-frills meal this is your place. And yes feel free to bring your noisy children.

Good solid breakfast joint with friendly staff. Have not been disappointed with the food or service on any of my trips.

Three eggs with home fries and toast for $ 3.99. Not a typo. Also, appropriate expectations set. A Sysco kinda joint that’ll pack booths as the established low-cost leader. Expect paper readers, flimsy toast and the same cheeks in the same seats for nine years running. As such, wait times are a crap shoot. Home fries are potatoes, hash browns look fresh out of the McD’s sleeve and the poached eggs in your $ 9 Irish Benedict(English, ova, canned hash, hollandaise) will run a bit clear, albumenimally. Other basics — waffle batter and Diner Dots — ran dry before 10am. Waffles? Really? Two and a half stars fits the bill.

Don’t let the line outside fool you. It’s due to the EXTREMELY slow service, not the food.

This was a pretty awful experience. I don’t expect very much from a greasy spoon, but even considering that it was not good. The food took just under 50 minutes from the time we ordered. We had a party of 4, I had 3 poached eggs and oatmeal, one had 2 eggs with hash browns and toast, and the other two had only bagels. At no point during our wait did the server apologize for the wait, give an explanation, or offer anything quicker while we waited. Only after talking to the manager around 40 minutes in did they say they’d look into it, yet we still heard nothing more until the food arrived. The food was fine, pretty typical diner food, but my egg had pieces of egg shells in it. The only upside was the prices, very reasonable, but for that experience still not even worth it. I don’t think well be going back.

This is basically the only breakfast place I saw in downtown Wolfeboro, aside from a service-counter bistro/café up the street. The service here is quick… perhaps a little too much so. They forgot two things out of our order, with a table of 4 guests. The food quality was fair. Virtually nothing is home made there, unusual for a diner, and all hash, toast, etc, comes in frozen or pre-prepared. Even the fruit, in the middle of summer no less, is your standard frozen medley. Coffee was black and hot… that’s about all I can say about it in a positive light. My blueberry pancake stack had(accidentally) a few chocolate chips in it… the various scenarios in which this could happen are not encouraging. The staff was friendly and quick, so it isn’t like it is a bad experience per say, the food just drags it down.

I agree with many of the other reviews, which I wish I had read Unilocal prior to eating at Wolfeborough Diner. The food was okay, I thought my waitress was very nice and efficent, but that owner! To call the owner«surly» is to polite, she’s just plain rude.

Pretty typical diner, about what you’d expect from a greasy spoon. Solid customer service though; the kitchen was backed up, so we were offered some free food while we waited– first it was diner dots, but then they ran out, so we ended up getting a free hot muffin each. And man, those muffins were pretty amazing(I’d come back just for those, but I think Yum Yum across the street actually makes them).

It’s honest– it’s a small town diner– open early and serving what you expect and then some– Came here for breakfast– seemed like the only option on a Saturday early morning in October– Waitress was friendly but just straight up– no messin around here-Not the most attentive but then I was clearly not a local so… Food was good– what I expected– served hot– nothing extra– Tables were clean, and I felt there was a sense of pride here and that the food would be good — Would come again and I would suggest to others– if you want eggs/bacon etc for a standard breakfast come here– you won’t be disappointed.

And another update after our annual vacation up ta ‘saukee. No more dinner hours. But I’ve added the much sought after fifth star of glory for my favorite Diner! Why? Perfection in the form of the Patty Melt. It’s all there, thin patty, sauteed onions with the right touch of crisp and carmelization, well buttered grilled rye bread. And then, there’s the most important part. And really, this is what makes a melt«a melt» — cheese on BOTH sides of the patty. So many places get this wrong, its called a melt for a reason people. The Wolfborough Diner is triumphant where other fail.

I wish I could rate this place based on the food, or the service, but I didn’t get that far. My wife and I came in and the place was full, but with no line. In other words, we were the only ones waiting for a table. We were told we had to wait outside. But we were quite hot and needed the air conditioning. Still, we were told that the owner requires people to wait outside. So outside we went, never to return. What a shame.

The single best diner around — without a doubt. We had an awesome breakfast and had to go back for lunch. Went back the next day for dinner. The quality of food and price cannot be beat in Wolfeboro or in any other diner that we have been to, and we go to them all from California to Maine, as well as in Philadelphia where we live. We learned from the owners(who cook and work there by the way) that they’re celebrating their 10th Anniversary this year. Must be doing something right. Great Food. Great Service. Great People. Period. You will not be disappointed. Looking forward to going back.

The surly cashier/owner made this a 1-star experience. No accommodations were made to seat our large party near each other and owner could have cared less. Food was standard diner fare, our actual waitress was good, portions were small, prices were okay to high. Don’t plan on returning.

Standard diner fare, serviceable but no frills. Recommended for a quick bite on a budget, though overpriced for what you get. Prices are somewhat lower than many of the other places in town. Staff is occasionally friendly, cashier/owner often impatient and unfriendly. CASHONLY!(When will this town learn to take plastic?) EDIT: Apparently they DO take cards now! I believe they have expanded their hours, a lesson other restaurants on Main Street ought to have learned long ago: if you stay open, people will come!

Definitive greasy spoon — or at least greasy egg — breakfast restaurant. Food is absolutely lacking in any effort by a chef to make it even interesting, let alone enticing — or edible for that matter. Ugh. Go to the Strawberry Patch up the street. Go anywhere else!

Craving a proper Monte Cristo? Wolfeborough Diner, please! This place has cured many a hangover during my high school and college years. No, it’s not your stuffy high-class brunch. But they do serve an acceptable breakfast with that homey feel to it.
