Anemone Makeup

So it’s funny how much this lady sucks. She obviously payed these people to write these nice reviews because I will never have a worse experience in my life. $ 500 later after 4 hours I wasted my time number 1 trying to find the stupid office that looks like a principles office mind you. That took an hour. Oh and to top that off she wasn’t with her phone so I had no way to find her. I finally find the place. They’re are 3 other girls in the class. And the woman is going on and on about absolutely nothing. Then she teaches us basic knowledge that anybody would know. Oh and bribes us to buy this 1 grand kit with shitty makeup in it. I can’t even talk about how frustrated I am with this lady. I really think she is a big scam. I actually cried at the end because of the money I pissed away all for nothing and this unpleasant woman didn’t help either. Nobody go to this lady.

Two stars because she actually does really good makeup-​when she does it! However, I hired Ann Marie to do makeup and hair for my wedding party ($$$$) and at last minute she brought an assistant (I.e. friends’ high school aged daughter and not a makeup artist) who ended up doing everyone’s makeup but mine. Half of my wedding party ended up re-​doing their own makeup. All in all, I was very disappointed that I dropped nearly 2k for a commercial makeup artist when I could’ve done a better job myself.

Ann Marie Laurendeau was patient, careful, and just really wonderful in putting together my hair and makeup for my wedding as well as the hairstyles of my mother and sister the day of the wedding. She spent an unprecedented 3.5 hours with me during the trial session, trying out different colors and making sure I felt comfortable with the direction of the hairstyle (which, I should mention, almost exactly matched the dramatic magazine clipping I brought in!). She made a real effort to get to know me and my family and to make us comfortable and is just a really nice person to work with. And when I threw a bit of a curve ball for the day of, asking for a tamer look with different detail, she nailed it! I was so happy with my hair and felt put together all night long (a first for me!), and Ann Marie’s makeup line (also called Anemone) included the most comfortable, wearable foundation I’ve ever tried. I’m glad she talked me into the fake eyelashes, and I’m still using the compact she gave me for daily touch ups! Love it!
