Wonderful small winery. Laurie was extremely helpful. Nice variety of wines from Cabs to Gerwürtzs. Definitely worth the stop!

Beautiful view! Josh was helpful and gave us lots of background on the grapes and wine. Fairly reasonably priced at $ 20 – 30 a bottle. We bought the Gewurtztraminer and it’s delicious. Small and personal winery.

We loved every piece of this. Absolutely informative, relaxing and tasty. The staff was wonderful to interact with. We ended up Joining the free wine club and are excited for the future gatherings and wine! Can’t wait to come back and soak up the views from this tasting room!

Jacob Williams Winery. My wife and I live in Wishram(5 miles away) and we wondered if anybody else would show up for the release party and wine tasting today with the bad weather and closure of I-84 eastbound due to a rockslide west of Hood River. To our amazement, it was packed from when we got there and got even more packed as we stayed to sample four wines from the barrel introduced by winemaker John Haw who drew wine from the barrels as we watched: two Pinot Noirs 2012 and 2013, a Reserve Chardonnay 2012 and a Gewurtz 2013. My wife liked the 2013 Pinot and I liked them all. We are members of their wine club and I am still getting used to the idea that Wishram(I grew up in this historic railroad town in the dry end of the Gorge) has a winery of such exceptional quality.

Come all ye cab fans. oh ya, the merlot is incredible too. In the top 3 for wineries in this area. At least in the opinion of us wine snobs from Bend. one tip, some of these wines need decanted to show off their stuff but those of you that can tell will know anyway. I don’t go there for anything else but the wine. It wouldn’t matter to me if they were in a basement in an old house in The Dalles, I would still be a huge fan. ok, ok, they happen to have great views with a new tasting room on the way soon.

We started our wine tasting day by visiting Jacob Williams on a bit of a whim and of the three wineries that we visited, this was my favorite. The beautiful setting on a bluff that overlooks the Columbia River coupled with exceptional wine made for a really great experience. The 2009 Syrah was the best wine that I tasted all day(bought two bottles) and the girl working the tasting room took the time to educate us on not just the wines that we were tasting but also the wine that we will hopefully be tasting in a couple of years. I cannot wait to come back when their new tasting room is completed and their Barbera and Gewürztraminer are ready to taste.

Went there on a Groupon deal. Tasting for 4 people and a bottle of wine up to 25 bucks. Get 5 dollars of the second bottle too. Got a bottle of their Chardonnay which was really good. I am not usually a white wine drinker but it was tasty! Got a bottle of their Cab Franc too. People were very friendly. Met the winemaker who was super nice and had a great sense of humor. They are building a tasting room adjacent to the current one which will accommodate more people. Spectacular views and great wines at a reasonable price. Definitely will be back.

Best wines in The Gorge! Don’t let the outside appearance fool you, once you step inside this modest tasting room you’ll see this winery is all about their wine & the incredible view! They specialize in big reds, best known for their award winning Cabernets. They also have one of the best Merlots I’ve ever had, and to be honest there isn’t a bad wine in the bunch! You’ll definitely want to stop by Jacob Williams Winery, if you like balanced, full body, big reds. They always have a delicious white as well!

Their chardonnay is to die for. Most of their other wines were good, but I could easy go back and buy a case of their chardonnay(and I’m usually a cabernet sauvignon type of gal). The location was fantastic. Right on the water. The two ladies were knowledgable and friendly. They also explained the names that had been given to each of their wines. A lot of thought has gone into the making of each type they bottle. We wanted to take a bottle to our picnic and they uncorking one bottle and gave us a few plastic cups. A+ hospitality.

My fiancé and I stopped in here on the drive back from Maryhill Winery, on a hunch. Let me tell you, I have never been more pleasantly surprised! We had a tasting, and the gal Ariel that helped us was so nice and chatty. She seemed very knowledgeable about their wines, and about the area in general. The wines were delicious, my fiancé especially liked the Malbec, which obviously forced us into a purchase. The views are fantastic, the help is fantastic, and they are working on a new tasting room, that I am sure will make this the place to be in the Gorge! You must go there!(only if you like fabulous wines and great company)

What a surprise. Having not been to Jacob Williams new tasting room(they moved a few years ago), I was shocked to see how close to the river they were. What a beauty. Vineyards in the backyard, the mighty Columbia River in the front. The tasting room is boutique-sized, and there were other folks there so we sat out in the deck. Fall day, sunny(as it usually is in the Gorge) and just a light breeze. Perfect. The wines didn’t disappoint, either. The Cabernet is phenomenal. Definitely a favorite stop from now on.

We loved this winery! It is very quaint and modest. We stopped here after visiting Maryhill and enjoyed the less busy feel of this place. They allowed us to bring in our dog, too. There were also two other dogs in the tasting room and they all enjoyed each other’s company. The staff was very friendly and the tasting was reasonable at $ 5. There were wonderful views as well. Even though this winery is small and simply, their wines were wonderful. Can’t wait to re-visit this place!

Not a bad wine in the bunch. Very reasonable wine tasting fee and they are pet friendly too. We joined their wine club and will be back often.

This winery has a modest tasting room that doesn’t hint at the outstanding wines they produce. Possibly one of the best Cabs I have ever tasted! Jacob Williams Merlot is excellent as well… I thought I didn’t love Merlot, but the 2008JW has changed my mind. This winery is worth the trip to Lyle and the scenery on the way adds to the experience.
