Overall my experience here was good, but not spectacular. This is a fairly small location, especially in the indoor area, but the service seemed very slow for the size of the dinning area. I know they were fairly busy that day, but even just getting an order in took a while. We ordered the garlic pretzels with marinara to start, and they were good. The pizza we ordered was definitely a good choice though. We split a House Special, which has a good variety of toppings, and it was a really great choice on a cold, rainy day. I would definitely consider the same pizza if I go back, but I would probably change up the appetizer next time.

Went on recommendation from friend. Wish I stayed home. Had a stuffed mushroom for appetizer and brushetta. Mushroom was terrible tasted like dirt. Asked for no sun dried tomatoes but still got. Pizza was dominoes quality with 5 star pricing. A GF pie was $ 23. Sent one pie back because it had zero flavor, literally! Place is hyped for no reason. Woulda rather stayed home and ate cereal.

I had no idea the pizza was gluten-free but if that’s what gluten-free tastes like, I want more of it! We ordered a large pizza. Half cheese, the other half with pepperoni and green peppers. I am pretty particular about the way I like my pizza cooked — specifically the texture of the green peppers. I want them to be cooked but not mushy. It was spot on. And the crust was excellent. I don’t normally eat crust, but it was both soft and flaky and I couldn’t resist! The cheese was to die for. Amazing pizza. Loved it!

Mellow Mushroom gives off great vibes. There’s psychedelic paintings all over the walls and sculptures of huge shrooms everywhere. Their pizza is so damn good! I had the red skin potato pie that literally tastes exactly like a loaded potato, except better because it’s all on a pizza slice! The appetizer we got was loaded with olives(which I hate olives so that was ruined) which I completely overlooked. If it were plain it would’ve been just as good as the pizza. Definitely going back again.

This place use to be good. NOW, it is horrible. I will not return ever again. It was warm in the restaurant, I asked the girl if they could turn the air down, I received a «NO». We thought we would try the calzones. They were so bad! Tasteless, dough not cooked, more dough then toppings inside. Service was ok. Ever since they redecorated and I believe changed owners, this place sucks. Please, save your money and go elsewhere. There are better pizza places in Orlando/Winter Park.

Recently renovated for a more modern feel. Nice atmosphere with a great GF pizza option.

Unique pies, good service, nice beer selection. Atmosphere is trippy, albeit a bit contrived. I wouldnt necessarily be a regular if I were local to Orlando, but it is a good place when your parents want to go out to a not so fancy dinner.

This review is based solely on takeout. We really enjoyed the food. I have to say I am more used to NY style pizza but this is unique and fun! We had the Mighty Meaty and Holy Shiitake and loved both… I probably would say the Shiitake was favored a little more than the meat pizza solely based on it’s originality. We also indulged in the wild mellow balls which are tiny bite sized pieces of dough rolled in parmesan cheese… so yummy! Glad they are on Doorstep delivery! :)

I’ve always had such an affinity for this outside-the-box pizza chain. They get you with the crust. The crunchy, crispy exterior or and the soft, doughy center tastes mesmerizing. This particular location is a bit on the smaller side, so fair warning if you come on a Friday/Saturday night. Our group of 4 was sat inside immediately at 6:15 on a Friday night. We started off with beers(naturally). They have a nice mix of drafts and bottles/cans, at surprisingly low prices. Dogfish 90 Minute is only $ 5 a bottle! Appetizer is always the mellow balls. It’s the crust, cut up into bit sized pieces — baked, covered in garlic butter and dusted with Parmesan cheese and a side of marinara for dipping. I’ve also had the mushroom soup, bruschetta, and hummus which are all delicious! I rotate through 3 pies here: Funky Q Chicken, Philosophers pie, and the Buffalo Chicken. Every one of their specialty pies are Ace! Can’t go wrong with any. A 10″ will run around $ 13 bucks as well. Staff is super friendly and attentive and it’s a great spot for kids as well.

Tonight was my first time ever having Mellow Mushroom since moving to Florida so I had no idea what to expect(I’m from New Jersey so I know good pizza.) My boyfriend and I ordered the Kosmic Karma to go and it took 25 minutes. Not too bad. It also cost $ 25… Which is kinda high compared to home. But no biggie. The combination of toppings were really good — red sauce, feta, mozzarella, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, and a pesto swirl. According to my boyfriend, the swirl was supposed to be «artsy» but it was just spread on there. The crust is what lost me. There is a Parmesan garlic like combination on the crust, otherwise it would be flavorless. It’s also not crunchy crust, it’s very cloud-like and I prefer crunchy.(If you think I’m picky, I’m not. I ate 2 slices and enjoyed them. I would just enjoy a crunchier crust.) Overall, it was very good and I am likely to return. Could the crust improve? Yes. And the price could be a tad lower.

Love it every time we come. Holy shiitake pizza is my favorite. Love the crust. Can’t recreate it at home.

I LOVE Mellow Mushroom. My family eats at the location near us at least twice a month, and we end up here at the Winter Park location regularly as well. This visit started off great, with the best mellow balls I’ve ever had. Literally lick-the-leftover-garlic-butter-off-your-fingers-good. Unfortunately, when our pizzas arrived, we had a couple of problems. My son’s pizza was supposed to be without onions but arrived covered in onions. More comically, my small tie dye pizza, which I ordered with«a bit of extra chili sauce please,» arrived with a LAKE of chili sauce on top of the pizza. It was ridiculous to the point of laughter. I had to hold the slice up to have the sauce pour off before I could eat it, and even then, the wonderful flavors of the other ingredients were absolutely overwhelmed by the chili sauce. I’ve included a picture so that you can see I’m not exaggerating. Our server, Kira, was wonderful and offered to remake my son’s pizza, which we accepted. The replacement was perfect. I elected to just eat my lake of pizza, since I thought having two pizzas remade was obnoxious. Kira really helped make the experience better than it could have been. The rest of the pizzas ordered by our large party were delicious and the beer options were well appreciated by the drinkers in our party.

Doctor ordered me to be gluten-free(this is absolute tragedy) and I ordered the gluten free cheese pizza. Honestly, it was just ok. Too much cheese to gluten free dough ratio. Most of the seating seems to be outdoors in a cute little patio area. Prices are a bit high for pizza :/ ** check and ask about the gluten free dough… I got really sick and I wonder if they cook it in the same oven(cross contamination)

This was my first time with friends the other night & I absolutely loved this place!!! Great food, friendly staff members, reasonable prices, wide selection of food, and the atmosphere was welcoming. They have a nice selection of wine, beer, and full bar as well. I ordered a small pizza that is 10″ that can serve 2 people. My friend told me you can order 2 different types of pizza with the same sauce. So I ordered the House Special and Karma. The pizza was amazing, came out fresh, hot, and a great portion size. I thought my visit went very well & I highly recommend coming here for an awesome food experience. The food tasted great!

This place is the BOMB! I can’t even. The waits can be long depending on when you come, but it is totally worth it. Their Gluten Free crust is off the chain. Usually in pizzerias the GF crusts are awful pre-packaged ones and are barely edible. NOTHERE! When I am craving sinful pizza they deliver the goods. You can’t even tell it is Gluten Free. It is so good my hubby has started sharing one with me with a big salad. Plenty for two and tastes like full gluten deliciousness. Is there an option for a 6th star? Because heck yea!

MM is the real thing. We «discovered» this place a few months ago mostly because the menu accommodates to our needs. Taking a leap of faith and hoping that what you see is what you get, we made our way to MM and waited for almost an hour for a table. Well worth the drive, and the wait. The service has been consistently good every time we’ve been here and the pizzas were exactly what we were hoping for. In our case, we have to go GF for medical reasons, and they do a great job at producing a suitable pie without compromising taste, size or texture. Combine a good pizza with a wonderful salad, all downed with a cold IPA and the world is exactly the way it is supposed to be. TIPS: try to avoid the crazy busy periods Outside seating might be loud if you are seated next to an obnoxious table Don’t even try to find a parking spot close by

This is the best MM in town, hands down. From the staff, to the consistent quality of the food, I will drive from wherever I am in town to acquire this pizza. While they’ve recently changed the presentation of the Mellow Balls(no longer garlic knots, but portioned bread stick pieces) everything from the wings, house-made sauces and pizzas are phenomenal. When someone I know wants good pizza and hasn’t ever been, this is where we go. While it’s not advertised on the menu you can definitely order more ‘traditional’ pizza — cheese, pepperoni, and such — and even the classics are better than most places in the area. I highly, highly recommend this place. Everyone from the hosts to the bartenders are incredibly knowledgable and kind.

A little upset with my last two times here. Used to be frequent goer… Now other places come to mind first. Quality of food has gone down. Today: Definite problem with the pizza. The problem was addressed with my server, and he justified the problem rather than fixing it. … I brought it up bc I wanted it fixed, not to hear a reason about it. 2 stars rather than 1 Edited to 1 star after seeing pics of other’s pizza on Unilocal.I’m upset now. Beer is great Service was good minus this issue.

Mellow Mushroom is a chain restaurant that doesn’t feel like one. I’ve never been disappointed with the food or service here. The menu contains a great variety of some pretty unique specialty pizzas. I tend to lean towards the Philosopher’s Pie, the Mellowterranean, or the Magical Mystery Tour(A Beatles reference automatically earns a positive review in my book). And their pizzas are delicious. All of the ones I’ve tried have been flavorful and unique while still feeling like pizza. Parking is kind of limited at this location, so you might find yourself parking near the Publix next door. That doesn’t bother me. After consuming a small or medium size pizza, I could use the walk to burn off a few calories. The appetizers are delicious as well. I’d recommend the pretzels and the Wild Mellow Balls(a fancy name for garlic knots). Their subs are also consistently good. The only reason I’m taking one star off is because the calzones don’t have any ricotta cheese. Come on, a real calzone needs to have more than just mozzarella. This minor gripe won’t stop me from coming here, but I do suggest that the company consider some revisions to the calzones. The Winter Park location is great, but the place itself is kind of small, and there is usually a wait on busy nights. The location on Colonial and Alafaya is bigger and they have trivia on Friday nights. It’s pretty fun, and you can end up with enough gift certificates to pay for your party’s meal if you guys know your stuff. All in all, Mellow Mushroom is a place I’m always down for if suggested for a dinner hangout.

Good beer and good pizza are meant to be enjoyed together, like peanut butter and jelly. Or spaghetti and Sriracha. You don’t want one without the other. This is why I enjoy Mellow Mushroom. With a nice selection of rotating crafts, and a fine menu or deliciously crafted pizzas, you are bound to leave full and happy. On my last visit, I met a couple friends for a late lunch. We decided to start with a couple beers(Terrapin Moohoo ftw!), and an order of the pretzels with beer cheese. You have the option of 3 or 6 pretzels to an order, and the smaller order fit us perfectly. The beer cheese is a new item on the menu as far as I know, and it is good! I hoarded the bowl so we(I mean I) could dip the pizza crust in it later on. The pretzels are about the size of your hand, and come with your choice of topping, so we opted for the Parmesan cheese. As for our pizza orders, we decided on three personal pizzas to maximize our flavor options. I ordered the Magical Mystery Tour, which came with a pesto base, lots of yummy mozzarella and feta cheese, mushrooms, spinach, and jalapenos. Delish! My co-diners opted for the Mellowteranean(chicken, onions, red peppers, mozarella, feta, and a side of Tzatziki sauce), and a create-your-own, with lots of mozarella, ricotta, and mushrooms and pepperoni. We all swapped slices and dug in! My only complaints about this location are the parking and how busy they always are. But really, are those even valid complaints? The service is always quick and efficient, and once we are seated there has never been a time where we had to wait long for food. This is a great place to hit up when you are having a serious carb craving.
