I would highly recommend Bophorous to others. The Lamb Shank was the highlight of the evening. If you have a small group, I would recommend eating family style so you can taste more dishes. I’ll be back again when I’m in town.

BESTTURKISHFOOD in the Orlando Metropolitan Area, period! If you like Turkish cuisine, go now. Stop reading and just go. Even if you don’t like Turkish food, Bosphorous may change your mind. Food is fresh, portions are generous, and the flavors bold. Order some grilled jalapenos if you like it hot. Have tried numerous entrees and apps and they are all good. Chicken patties, turkish pizza, okra in tomato sauce, grilled lamb… all come with accompanying sides that complements the dishes well. Make sure you get the Lavas bread and some hummus and baba ghanoush to dip. You won’t be disappointed. Prices are reasonable for the portions you get. Go now!

I was traveling through Winter Park & this Turkish restaurant caught my eye. I love trying new things and Turkish cuisine is new for me. Inside the décor is colorful & chic. Once it gets busy, it is noisy. The service was also a bit slow. But the food out-shined these small complaints. The food presentation is gorgeous. I ordered the Lavas bread to start which rose domed and fluffy. Everything that was ordered at our table was quite delicious with the Chicken Kofte(chicken patties) being my very favorite. The fresh dill blended in them really shone through and the carrot & red cabbage salads on the side were refreshing and light. The rice pilaf was a perfect fluffy compliment. I wish I lived closer, but if I’m ever in the area, I can’t wait for another meal at Bosphorous.

It’s been a week since I visited Bosphorous and I’m still not over it. I don’t even know where to start. We went on New Year’s Day and despite it being a holiday, every server was kind and eager to help. The inside ambiance makes you feel like you’re in a swanky NYC restaurant. As for food, my family and I started with the lavas bread(huge, warm, delicious) and hummus, Turkish-style tabouleh(purposely dry and so good). I had the chicken andere as my entrée, which was to die for. Can’t wait to go back!

Superb service and great food. I haven’t previously had Turkish food but I’ve had things that tasted similar. We ordered the beef and chicken Kabobs. Both were great and the portions were plentiful. I’m not sure I care for the pickled vegetables. The bright pink cabbage was ok but I just don’t like those flavors. Others at my table thought the sides were delicious though. We also ordered the lavas bread and hummus. Pricy when ordered together but you have to try the bread at least once. It’s tasty but you can’t really eat it alone. You need something to dip it in. The Lavas bread is great for 4 or more people. It’s definitely a large portion. Sharing it is great.

Food is great, it’s just so expensive. The bread with hummus is like $ 15 when something very similar would be $ 7 somewhere else. My wife and I then split a meal, which was $ 25 or so, the food was delicious(we got the chicken yogurt style), but it didn’t come with anything else, just chicken and some bread in the middle, no rice, no veggies, nothing… thankfully I wasn’t that hungry going in, because I left totally not full while still dropping $ 50-$ 60 on dinner. I would go back with a groupon or something like that, otherwise I will steer clear.

Overall, this is an amazing restaurant! Attentive servers, beautiful surroundings and atmosphere, and food that is always perfectly prepared! My new favorite is the Turkish Pizza, which comes with ground lamb on it. At $ 16 it is a must try! So why only 4 stars? Well, that is because of their prices and portion sizes. This is especially disappointing with the appetizers and dips. They charge a lot, but give you anak portions. The entrees are also very expensive, but at least those give a good amount of food. All in all, this is one of my favorite places on Park Avenue. Anyone who likes Turkish food should give Bosphorus a try.

Très bonne cuisine. Les aliments étaient frais. Le service rapide et vraiment pas trop cher. Un bel endroit et une belle ambiance.

This would be a five star review if not for the technical difficulties that were apparently being had on the day we went at the front desk with reservations and seating. With a reservation we waited an additional 25 mins before we were considering leaving, as a very large crowd had gathered in the front area and there were many unhappy people crowding around the hostess. I felt a bit bad for the customers that had seats in the area, as they were sort of trapped in and between the crowd of people waiting. Fortunately, we were seated. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, and the food. Holy cow, that bread. And the babaganoush. And the sauteed chicken. Everything there was. so. good. We had a fantastic experience once we were seated, and hope to return on a day when it’s(hopefully) not so busy.

I was visiting from out of town and we got a locals recommendation for this place. We decided to check it out and were very satisfied! we were greeted by a very nice hostess who was very accommodating to my grandfathers food allergies. We ordered the pita like bread, grape leafs, babaganoush, and cucumber yogurt for appetizers. It was a lot of food and would have been good for 4 people. Next we ordered the mixed grill and the doner kabob. Everything was delicious! A tad on the salty side but I love salt. We had enough food for 6 people! I would recommend the mixed grill platter for 4 if you also get appetizers. Besides having days of leftovers everything was very good and we were very satisfied. The highlight for me was the babaganoush. It was smokey in flavor and creamy in consistency. I could have done without the grape leaves they were sweeter than the normal briney salty flavors I was expecting. The ambiance was great they had both outdoor and indoor seating. We especially like the lamps!

Oh. My. Goodness. This was the BEST food I have had in awhile. I went recently for a friend’s birthday for the first time, and I was so pleasantly happy with the flavors and freshness of the food. We ordered the lavas(giant hollow bread) and hummus for the table. It was obviously freshly made, and the hummus was delicious! My husband and I split the Chicken Adana Kebap cooked yogurt-style. I could have eaten that dish for every meal for a month. The yogurt is tangy and surprising – tasted similar to goat cheese. The chicken was grilled perfectly and seasoned so well. The only reason I am reducing one star was the price. The cost of the lavas($ 4.50), a hummus/eggplant platter(10.50, and was honestly a really small dish), and one dinner(20.95) brought our meal to almost $ 50 with tip. And we split an entrée. This place can easily reach $ 100 for a couple for an appetizer, 2 entrees and a drink – too much in my opinion for this food. This place got me hooked on Turkish cuisine, but I will probably check out some of the less pricy joints in Orlando for my next fix.

I’ve been to Turkey. So has my friend who brought me here. We aren’t easy on places like this, cuz we *know*. Holy crap! It’s like stepping back into Istanbul! The Lavash bread that is served puffed(I don’t care how old you are, it’s fun to poke it to eat it). What didn’t we eat?! The mixed grill is HUGE. I chose the lamb, because Turks are geniuses with lamb! most of the entrees could easily be split becuase they are huge. However, we ate our faces off. We *also* got the mixed appetizers(mezes) and those were amazing also. Last but not least: the chicken kebap. ?The spices tasted and smelled like Turkey. They are definitely legit! It’s pricey, but the quality of food is amazing. It’s also in Winter Park so you are paying for that. But get a seat outside and watch everyone walk along the sidewalk. Free entertainment!

I LOVE Bosphorous. We’ve been twice, and both times have been on point. First, you must get their bread. It’s the giant inflated ball you’ll see at EVERYONE’s table. All the dips for it are great. I would skip the hummus, its just okay, and venture out and get something different. For my entrée, i’ve shared the mixed grill. Its honestly enough for 4 people, so don’t let the $ 35 price tag steer you away. It comes with about 6 different types of meat, some great rice, carrot, red onion and beets. It all is delicious. Also make sure you get the yogurt sauce because it really ties it all together. I’m already salivating writing my review… i can’t wait to go back!

Wanted to have a date night on a Tuesday and decided to just jump in the Jag and ride out. Something will pop up im sure. Sure as hell did. As we went through Winter Park we thought it would be a good idea to try some real ethnic food. We made it in time for Happy hour there. buy one get one Premium liquors, beers and glasses of wine. Does not include their specialty cocktails which i did want to try but decided against seeing as im getting double. I ordered bombay saphire martini slightly dirty and it came with Feta stuffed olives(nice touch you guys). After wetting the whistle it was time to try some type of indigenous food to Turkey. So i ventured for the Chicken Livers with fries as an appetizer. These suckers were good. I do reccommend that delicious sauce which is on the bottom of the plate. The flavor was pretty unique. The other appetizer was pick 2 dips with that awesome bread. For our entrée we got the Whole SHibang(mixed grill). The meats easily serves 2 which included Lamband chicken served multiple ways on a bed of jasmine rice and red onions. it was a great idea to split this. We both ate lunch off of it the next day. So if you are wondering if you should order it just remember the $ 35 gives you both food for dinner and lunch the next day. Dessert was to be ordered as well. We asked for a recommendation and ordered it. Dont remember the name but it had cheese in the middle and was slightly larger than a personal pan pizza. It was good but way too much. they are dog friendly which is mentionable. i recommend this place for a date night during happy hour.

Expensive, but worth it. I ate dinner here with a friend, and we were blown away with how delicious the food was! We started with an order of lavas bread and Haydari sauce for dipping as an appetizer. I would come back to this restaurant just to order this again. It was so incredibly good! For the entrée I ordered the lamb patties dish which came with a few juicy, tasty patties on a bed of basmati rice with beets, carrots, and onions on the side. I also got a small cucumber sauce on the side to complement the meat. Everything was flavored to perfection! For dessert we shared the dark chocolate baklava, and it was heavenly. In terms of service and ambiance both were up to par for what I expected a nice restaurant on Park Avenue to provide. I have nothing but good things to say about Bosphorus. Their food is high quality and extremely delicious. I highly recommend it!

Bospohorus is located right in heart of winterpark midst many other respected restaurants. Parking is good in nearby Amtrack lot. They have patio and enough indoor seating but reservations are always recommended. Ambiance is very nice with studio lighting. The staff is nice and considerate. For the appetizers, you have to try the LAVAS(Hollow Bread), their signature bread creation. Its huge, almost the size of an Indian bhatura but baked and not friend. The smell itself waters your mouth. With the bread, we tried the Mixed Appetizer(Karisik Meze) which was a combination of humus, babaganoush, sautéed eggplant, tabbuli, ezme, tarama, haydari, and stuffed grape leaves. This itself was fantastic. The Falafel ’(A mixture of chickpeas, celery, parsley, and green onions tossed in spices and fried, served with tahini) was good but not something that will sweep you off your feet. So average was the Spinach and Feta(Ispanakli Pide)(A thick dough crust stuffed with sautéed spinach, onions, feta cheese, and topped with fresh tomatoes). The entrée Vegetable Sauté(Guvec)(eggplant, green beans, zucchini, potatoes, carrots, and garlic in a savory tomato sauce) is good for tangy tongues. The Turkish Coffee is authentic and satiating. For deserts, we tried the Turkish Pineapple Delight(Layers of sponge cake, pineapple, mousse, candied pineapple, toasted pineapple and topped with white chocolate) and it was something very different and should be tried at least once. The Pistachio Gelato is very rich and creamy. The Kunefe(dough stuffed with turkish sweet cheese, topped with sweet syrup and pistachios and baked) is their signature desert and truly awesome. Cost of little more than average but the experience was truly good.

Come here and try the bread. Seriously. Bosphorus is located in a cute spot by the park on Park Ave. It’s such a great location for date night and you can wander along the shops and park. First of all, you must try the Lavas bread. It’s about $ 5 and is HUGE. I’d say it’s bit bigger than the size of a laptop? Perfect with a side of hummus(ordered separately for $ 7.95). For main course I ordered the red lentil soup(delicious and well priced) and the vegetable sauté. The dinner prices get a bit expensive but the atmosphere and quality of food perfectly matches it. Make a reservation on the weekend as it gets booked up fast!

We have a monthly ladies dinner out and Bosphorus made the list of places we wanted to try. Located in the heart of downtown Winter Park on Park Ave, parking can get a bit tricky on Saturday night but we scored a spot right around the corner with a short walk. There is both inside and outside tables with a bar area to the right when you walk in. What’s a little weird is the host station is not near the front door. When we first walked in you hit a wall of tables. I know space is at a premium in this location but since there had been a large group of people in front of the station, we didn’t even see it and proceeded to walk right into the bar to meet some of the other people so it worked out. I ordered the Bosphorus Mule while we waited for our table and other ladies to arrive. It was similar to the Moscow version but with a peach twist — it was ok, nothing super exciting but at least they had it in the right copper cup. The bartender puts the tab Ina cup which automatically had all 3 of our drinks together one one tab — I guess he assumed one person was paying? Strange assumption. There were 8 of us and we had reservations so they put two tables together which was a little more cramped than I had hoped for but we are all friends here! We started with 2 orders of the Lavas bread. It looks like a huge pita that’s shaped like a giant bubble — awesome presentation and quite tasty with a side of hummus(ordered separately). We also tried the babaganoush — which is eggplant purée, I thought it had a nice cumin flavor but the hummus but the spot with the lavas bread. We ate so much, not sure how we’d do once the entrees arrived. I went for the gigantic mixed grill which is meant to be shared by 2 — oh no, I wanted it all to myself with my greediness! This was 3 meals in one! Gyro meat, yogurt cured chicken, lamb, beef kabobs which are we’ll accompanied by pickled red cabbage & carrots. A beautiful presentation of carnivorous delights! The meats were very fresh, well seasoned and a giant pop of flavor in each bite. Although similar flavor profile, each item tasted unique for a well thought out execution. I’ve never been to Turkey but this felt like a great representation of the food traditions. Our server was on point — he was quick to take orders, replenish drinks, and offered suggestions. Since there was NO way we’re were finishing those giant plates, he offered to box up all our food towards the end of the meal. I got two more meals out of that plate of food, well worth the $ 36 price tag. TIP: Their website said for parties of 6 or more they do not split checks so we came prepared with cash. We did however get split checks but keep in mind just in case. Order a side of the yogurt sauce to go with your mixed grill — perfect combination of coolness with the heat and spices of the meat.

Consistently excellent food. I still give them 5 stars despite it being a slow night and our waitress has gone AWOL. It’s my birthday and no one’s going to ruin my day. Had the chicken Adana Kebap which I’ve sampled many times passing by on Park Ave(they use it to lure in customers and it works!) but the full entrée comes with wonderful pickled red beets and cabbage, onions, carrots and fragrant white rice. Enough to share for two, plus we added the fried zucchini fritters. I tasted tangy lemon and dill, but also a natural sweetness. Was a good matchup of flavors and textures. We passed on dessert but they brought a little wedge of baklava which was delish. Its tradition, they said.

The food here definitely surpassed my expectations. I entered for lunch and decided to eat inside since it was about 100 degrees outside. One of the first things I noticed was the dim lighting; it really gave the place a laid back vibe which I appreciate. We started the meal off with their well known LAVAS(hollow bread), which paired perfectly with the Babaganoush and Haydari we ordered. The babaganoush was perfectly smoky, smooth and flavorful. The haydari was more of a bland dip than I was expecting, but the dill and mint did pair nicely and worked well with the LAVAS. Though I did enjoy both dips, the portion did seem to be a bit small for the $ 10.50 price. As for our entrees, we ordered their Doner Kebap(tender lamb, grilled vertically and thinly sliced) and Vegetable Sauté ‘Guvec’(eggplant, green beans, zucchini, potatoes, carrots, and garlic in a tomato sauce). The lamb dish was absolutely delicious! It was served with rice and an excellent portion of flavorful carrots, red onions and beets(I hate beets, but these were amazing). The vegetable sauté which was also served with rice was such a flavorful dish; the vegetables were cooked perfectly and sauce had a great and deep flavor. I left this place surprised that it took me up until today to give them a shot. The service was average and the appetizers are overpriced in my opinion, but there are a few choices that are a bargain. I will definitely be back.

This restaurant is really good. It is located on Park Avenue in Winter Park. My friend had her birthday there and our waitress while very attentive and somewhat helpful did disappoint a bit. We were a party of 8, which is a big party in way. She told the first half of the table what the special/happy hour drinks were while the other side of the table had to wait for her to get back with some water and take our orders. For starter we had the lava bread and dip platter(suggested by the waitress) which was very good. My entrée was shish kebab wrap with vegetable(more like spring lettuce and 1 slice of tomato) which was suggested by our waitress. The thing she forgot to mention is that the wrap, even if it was in effect less food than the regular shish kebab, had a surcharge. It was not a big deal but it would have been nice to know. The food overall was very tasty and the birthday girl was happy and got baklava. I recommend this place but make sure to ask questions when ordering your food so that you are not surprised when you get your bill.
